Chapter 1: Moral Standards Need to Be Lowered
“My na is Fia. My surna is too long, so I won’t bother writing it down.” Sitting at the desk beside the bed, a blonde girl wrote with a feather quill. “I am a transmigrator. This is my third day in this world.”
“They call the Saintess. Every morning at six o’clock… roughly six, anyway. Ti here seems to be recorded in a way similar to Earth. I have to get up, do absolutely nothing, and pray in front of the statue of a god.”
The girl looked up at the small statue placed by the window and carefully considered her wording.
“That statue isn’t one of those winged bird-n from my mory. Judging from its features, it resembles a goddess from Greek mythology. Thanks to the original body’s mories, I can barely understand the prayer text. In it, the deity is called the God of Love and Justice—Kanetos.”
“I can still clearly rember what I looked like before I transmigrated. At that ti, I was controlling the green-haired hero in order to unlock the 261st CG of the Saintess character in that corner of the ga ‘World of Pleasure.’ It’s hard to imagine what was going on inside the developers’ heads. A ga with such rigorous settings and such a grand world view sohow ended up becoming a collection of human fetishes. That idiotic ‘beep—(censored)’ ‘beep—(censored)’ green-haired hero protagonist… honestly, he does not deserve those beautifully drawn character illustrations.”
She covered her mouth and coughed lightly, pulling her wandering thoughts back. Fia listened at the door like a thief for a mont before continuing to write.
“Of course, none of that is the problem. I have spent many years conquering every corner of the genre. I am good at flexibly imrsing myself in roles and can handle all kinds of intense battle scenes. Whether it is one-on-one, one-against-many, visible or invisible opponents, I can charge straight in and strike directly at the vital point… cough, cough, I said too much. Anyway, that was when I transmigrated.”
“The cheat appeared on the first night. At that ti…” Fia reached out and deliberately ssed up the stack of docunts on the desk, then intentionally threw the blanket into disorder.
【Morality -1】
【Evaluation: Your unethical act of making a ss has successfully increased the maid’s workload. She will have to spend an additional 42 seconds cleaning up—undoubtedly a precious fragnt of ti in her life.】
【Daily Immorality Task Completed: Low-Level Ability Fragnt 1】
“Just like that, I unlocked this ridiculous Immorality System.” Fia closed the interface that only she could see and let out a long sigh. When she thought about the dark future awaiting her, sorrow welled up in her heart.
What kind of system gives out fragnts?
“I was here to unlock CGs, not to beco the protagonist myself!”
She casually tossed away the quill pen. After her morality dropped by another point, Fia lay back on the bed and stared at the familiar yet unfamiliar ceiling.
Just as she had written in her diary, she had transmigrated into the ga she used to play in her previous life. Moreover, she had beco the chosen heroine with the most CGs, the longest storyline, the most comprehensive fetishes, and the most exquisite character art—Saintess Fia.
Whether out of internal hatred or internal love, this character appeared in the hidden ending CGs of nearly every other romanceable character. In a ga that would turn into a “cuckold club” if viewed from the hero’s perspective, that was definitely not a good thing… no wonder the forum veterans had crowned it the worst ga in history.
Her battlefield ranged from the small basent beneath the temple to the vast plaza of the White King Palace. Every corner of the continent bore traces of her intense “battles.” In the gallery’s index directory, her personal page alone was longer than all the other characters’ pages combined. As the saying went, Among the twelve volus of the collection, every single one bears Fia’s na.
Her importance as a character was obvious.
Fia patted her cheeks.
Calm down! It is not ti to wait for death yet. According to the main storyline in her mories, everything before the invasion of the various races counts as the early stage of the story. As long as she is careful and avoids the Hero Party’s affairs, she can eliminate roughly one-sixth of the monster-side bad-ending routes.
Moreover, her current identity gives her a lot of room for initiative. If she handles things properly, she might even be able to prevent other romanceable characters’ routes from triggering.
Thinking this way, her heart felt slightly steadier.
Fia reached out to touch her hair, then gently brushed her fingers across her face. Warmth spread through her fingertips, and she could even sll a faint fragrance lingering there.
“The developers really did a great job. This is much more detailed than the character illustration. No—more detailed than the model, too.”
Because of the ga’s exquisite production quality, advanced technology, and outrageously absurd storyline, it did not have a good reputation among “serious” players. However, it attracted plenty of people with unusual tastes. Overall, its popularity was not low.
Each character had a complete backstory and more than twenty interchangeable outfits. Fully animated scenes showcased their unique beauty in vivid detail.
The ga abandoned the traditional text-based strategy system and adopted high-freedom real-ti simulation. As a result, background setting texts that had once been purely decorative beca actual materials that could be used for strategy.
At the ti, soone on the forum even posted praise for the Saintess character’s beauty, claiming that her charm was directly proportional to her righteousness. When all the key “strategy points” across her body were sumd up, they were practically the length of a small academic paper.
Another enthusiast compiled all the personal CGs unlocked in that version and proposed the concept of a “complete collection achievent.” However, since the ga was still in the update phase, no one had actually accomplished it.
Fia had been one of the players attempting to achieve it. Before she transmigrated, she had reached CG number 261 and could still see at least fifteen blank silhouettes waiting to be unlocked at the end of the list. She had thought it was rely a matter of waiting for the next update. She never expected that the separation would beco permanent.
“Saintess, the Pontiff requests your presence to discuss the Hero Summoning Ceremony scheduled for three days from now.”
The wooden door was knocked upon, and the voice of a church maid sounded from outside.
Fia’s heart tightened.
The Hero Summoning Ceremony!
This was the signal that the story was about to begin officially. From the three individuals summoned by the magic array, two would be eliminated. The one who remained would beco the player’s perspective character from her previous life—the green-haired swordsman, Wu Gui.
Thinking about it carefully, it seed to be an early-ga benefit. This event would lead to three CG scenes and a branching route.
The CG scenes were self-explanatory: Saintess Changing Clothes, Backup Candidate Collision, and Storming the Bathhouse—three classic “fan-service” scenarios.
Guided by the invisible hand of fate—actually the developers—the player’s perspective would pass through the heavily guarded front hall and head straight into the inner residential courtyard. At just the right mont, a gust of wind would lift the curtain of her room window, revealing her body midway through changing out of her dress and into combat equipnt.
Then, when the player hurriedly left, a backup Saintess candidate would conveniently bump into him, giving a close-up of her eternally striped red-and-white outfit. Finally, the player would get precisely lost in the bathhouse area and witness the maids changing shifts completely naked. A classic setup.
But the most lethal elent was the branching route. If the hero failed to discover the situation in advance, the main storyline would close. The hostile faction secretly tracking the hero would use the opportunity to gather intelligence on the church. On the night before departure, they would launch a surprise attack, abduct the Saintess, and fra the green-haired hero.
The ga would end imdiately.
After enduring unimaginable torture, she would have her face and voice destroyed before being thrown into a wilderness full of beasts. She would die in terror and despair.
The happier she used to laugh about this plotline, the darker her expression beca now.
The Saintess was a support-type class. In that storyline, divine magic against assassins who had co fully prepared was as ineffective as scratching an itch. Her self-defense techniques could not even be used before she was sent into a peaceful sleep.
No.
Her life and dignity could not be thrown away so easily.
“Understood. Please wait a mont while I tidy up my appearance. Also, later have soone adjust my room’s window—replace it with one-way magical glass. And change the curtains to thicker ones.”
With double insurance like that, the wardrobe malfunction CG would be strangled in its cradle.
Fia got up, smoothed the wrinkles in her clothes, and arranged her hair according to the mories she had. She opened the door and followed the waiting maid toward the council chamber.
The interface invisible to others appeared before her eyes.
【Na: Fia】
【Class: Saintess LV24】
【Morality: 267 (Saintess Class Bonus 200)
Evaluation: You are beloved by the Church. Within the sphere of faith, affinity 50%.】
【Attributes: Wisdom 9, Constitution 2, Charm 93】
【Abilities: Interdiate Divine Magic, Basic Self-Defense, Advanced Singing】
【Available Fragnts: Low-Level 13/15】
Her gaze lingered briefly on the fragnt count. She was still so distance away from assembling a complete low-level ability. Fia closed the panel.
No matter how absurd this system was, it was currently one of the only two things she could rely on. The other was her mories from her previous life.
As for abandoning the Saintess identity and running away?
The seemingly viable idea flashed briefly through her mind but did not linger.
What a joke.
The ga did include a branch where the Saintess failed in her role. In that storyline, Fia would lose her status as Saintess and be imprisoned in the Inquisition. After suffering a full round of brutal torture, she would be dumped in the slums of the city and eventually sold into slavery.
And with her frail arms and legs, she would probably cry for a long ti after taking a single punch. Earlier, when she tried running one lap around the room, she nearly collapsed from exhaustion. Escaping the Church alone was even more impossible.
If she truly could not avoid it in the end…
Fia’s eyes grew determined.
Then she would smash the divine statue and blow up the Church ahead of ti.
Being blown to ashes would still be better than being locked forever in a tiny room where no one could ever find her.
