"It is rather difficult to not pick favorites, no? So of them are just too..."
Beside , Detra let out a sigh and continued to shift her attention between three things; myself, all of the children, and the clouded mirrors that floated overhead displaying the current activities of our favorite mortal and her family.
She was obviously focused on the mirrors right now, but I saw how she looked down at the children too when she said that, making
frown before I reluctantly nodded when she raised a brow at , like she was daring
to lie.
"Don’t feel bad about it. It just cos with the territory is all. Quality over quantity doesn’t an you dislike quantity. I love them all, but I am not going to spend years with all of them. A benefit of Goddesses though is that I don’t need to."
To that end she was right; most of the Goddesses in front of us - the children - could age imdiately if they so chose, but right now they were still learning about themselves, about their siblings and about what they wanted, so they were ’stuck’ for the ti being.
We were similar to mortals in that regard, but it was a process that was expedited by a myriad of reasons to last maybe a week before they were fully functioning, completely grown Goddesses; unlike the people we were watching, I didn’t need to ’coddle’ them for a month or two before continuing to guide them for longer.
"Anyways, it would seem that we are lucky with many things. The others are all being slow about everything, and the worst of them are being... bogged down with personal problems. Woe is them."
The twinkle in Detra’s eyes was a little concerning, though when I looked into why I just smiled wryly and relaxed so more, happy to know that things could play out a little more naturally now instead of being... rushed.
"Ti is valuable, is it not? How we spend it even more so... and I believe she has been spending it well. It could always be better, but seeing her like that... is it not warming to the heart~? She’s taken after you so well..."
Giving
a peck on the cheek, Detra slowly lted away so of my pettiness before retreating as she took what she could, the Goddess of Life going forwards to bask in the wonders of the children in front of us while also clearly loving what was happening to the mortal we so cherished.
