Reporting a little every day, it doesn't compare to holding off for a year before delivering a report brimming with a greater sense of shock.

It's best to present results at the most critical mont; then, when compared with other contenders, a gap erges. Not only does it undermine the opponents, but it also elevates one's status in the eyes of the Duke of Lionheart. Why not do it?

For these three reasons, the core mbers of the Lionheart Family rarely linger in Lion Heart Castle nowadays.

Well, the reason for using 'rarely' is that there is an exception among the core mbers, and that is Kael's sworn sister, Flandre, who spends a considerable amount of ti in Lion Heart Castle.

However, Flandre has explicitly stated in front of the Duke of Lionheart that she would not participate in the competition for the Duke's position.

As for why Kael has no mory of joining his father in attending the Lionheart Night Banquet...

Kael pondered for a while and roughly guessed the reason.

The most likely reason is that, before his arrival, Earl Rezhe had already been the representative competitor of the Charles family.

At that ti, though his father still bore the na of the Charles family, he essentially belonged to the faction of the Border Nobles.

In simple terms, he didn't qualify to participate in the night banquet.

While the Duke of Lionheart didn't refuse his offspring from visiting that day, it was akin to a class reunion without certain classmates; the camaraderie was missing.

"Things seem to be getting interesting,"

Kael remarked with interest.

"For the next few days, I'll arrange the matters of Wandong City and the underground network. After that, I'll make a trip to the Royal Capital! If possible, I'll et with Marquis Gransham, to see for myself the Marquis who was so famous in my previous life and yet t his end at the hands of his own son."

...Several days later...

[Location: The Duchy of Engelans, the outer ring of the Royal Capital, Satellite City, Teleportation Hall VIP Room]

A flash of light from the Teleportation Array, and Kael, Old White, several mbers of the Shadow Garden including Hassaka and Chief Maid Lin Hua, as well as mbers of the Storm Battle Group ford after Jonathan's Rangers were reorganized, erged from the array.

Since there were too many people on this trip, it wasn't possible to leave covertly as before—Kael, Old White, and a few maids taking a carriage while the others arrived either in advance or imdiately afterward.

Therefore, Kael simply booked the shuttle service in Satellite City.

When the person responsible for the Satellite City pickup point saw Kael's roaring Lion crest, they imdiately ca out and respectfully ushered Kael and the others into the top-tier area, giving the shuttle service ti to prepare.

Kael sat down and casually pulled out a Magic Book to read.

But before Kael and his companions could warm the sofas in the top-tier area, the doors to the VIP room burst open.

Jonathan instinctively glanced towards the door, his fingers lightly resting on the long spear behind him.

He sensed the presence of a Transcendent.

Not just any ordinary Transcendent, but one that could pose a lethal threat to him.

Before he could act, Old White patted his shoulder: "I'm here."

Relieved that Kael might be disturbed while reading, Jonathan nodded, "Yes, Teacher."

Kael, who had been reading, looked up casually at the newcors at the door.

Noticing a noble-looking man in his 30s leading the group, his noble attire bearing the crest of a steel eagle, Kael's eyes narrowed slightly.

The Steel Eagle crest held a special status in the Bell Federation, or rather, it pointed directly to one family—

Gransham.

'A conspirator, huh? Early birds get the worm indeed!'

Kael continued reading his book without giving much attention to the man.

He observed and waited, biding his ti for action.

However, upon seeing the roaring Lion crest emblazoned on Kael's Mage Robe, Marquis Gransham's face revealed a aningful expression.

Running into each other here was purely coincidental.

But... it suited perfectly.

The VIP area was spacious, yet Marquis Gransham ca straight over and sat down in front of Kael.

His face bore a genteel smile, but the words that ca from his mouth were pointedly sharp:

"What an unlucky day; I stepped out only to sense the power of the Abyss.

In earlier years, Abyss Demons and their offspring would be hunted down rcilessly where found, never granted the chance to share a seat with us."

Old White lifted his eyes slightly but remained silent.

Marquis Gransham imdiately ceased that line of conversation, just testing the boundaries of tolerance of this group; he was no clown to ridicule outright—not seeking confrontation, just nauseating you.

anwhile, Aister sitting on Kael's side, began to ooze out. Its sli-like body seed sowhat similar to Kael as it made its way in front of Kael, onto the table, and started munching on a small biscuit.

Perhaps because this form of Aister was sowhat cute, Marquis Gransham softened his expression, then reached out to grab a biscuit and handed it to Aister as if feeding it.

But in that instant, Aister suddenly lashed out, and with a whoosh, Gransham's hand lit up with a flash, blocking the attack.

The next mont, however, the magic on his hand was promptly shattered.

"Aister."

Kael's voice ca through, and Aister glared at Marquis Gransham, eyeing him with dissatisfaction.
