Luxius spread his hands and said with a mischievous grin, "How can you say I’ve spoiled him? Isn’t it possible that the kid’s inherently crafty?"
The headmaster gave Luxius a aningful glance and humd before speaking:
"You’re not unaware that it was Flandre’s insistence that led to investigate before approving this kid’s application.
Being a librarian may have little pressure, but managing the vast collection of the Restricted Section of the Mage Academy cos with significant responsibilities.
Don’t tell you believe I didn’t investigate this kid years ago? Kael was truly a stubborn yet kind-hearted child back then. If he isn’t well-guided now, you’ll have to shoulder the bla."
Luxius was not offended but rely chuckled, "Just tell , isn’t Kael quite remarkable?"
The headmaster glanced at the now-closed door and smiled, "Indeed, a talent worth nurturing greatly."
One of the old mages nearby sighed, "He is truly a genius, far beyond my capabilities. Yet, because of his background, he sotis places too much importance on interests."
Luxius shook his head, "Kael’s situation is becoming more unique. He is one step closer to the position of Duke Lion Heart.
You can’t expect the future ruler of the Duchy of Inglance to focus entirely on expanding the path of mages like we do, can you?"
Luxius’s words made sense.
The headmaster nodded approvingly, "It’s just that he values interests a bit too much. But not just Kael, even among us old geezers here, who can truly claim to disdain interests?
Imposing inhumane demands on others too harshly will only lead to worse outcos. Inglance isn’t what it was decades ago, and we now have more resources. Investing a bit more in a true talent is nothing."

Only Luxius understood the hidden truth in the headmaster’s slightly complex tone.
Luxius had seen many geniuses. So were pure opportunists, relentless seekers of knowledge. However, overly craving knowledge not in their possession might lead them astray.
If you are willing to abandon everything for more valuable knowledge, the corrupt knowledge of those Evil Gods might tempt you as well. Those great nations, enemies of the Yibel Federation, offering knowledge unattainable in the Federation, these people might choose to betray their own.
In contrast, Kael had clear interests for his future that wouldn’t inflate with infinite desires. Such a child was less likely to be lured or betrayed by opposing forces.
Besides, Kael was already progressing towards the highest echelons of Inglance.
The double chains of interest and emotion could better restrain Kael from paths he didn’t wish to tread due to extre situations.

The continent of Shenhua housed countless intelligent species. Even if humans, with their population advantage, couldn’t claim invincibility.
Unlike the world where the Human Federation resided, various intelligent beings in this world ant so would abandon humanity to gain from non-human intelligences.

What mattered now was the impact of Kael’s actions on Mage Academia and the various nations, and how these impacts would translate into waves crashing upon him.
