The towering buildings along the riverbank no longer reflect the bright light and shadows under the sunlight of the past. A bolt of lightning illuminated the sky, followed by a torrential downpour.

The shadows of those standing buildings twist like snakes amidst the intersecting light and shadow of the sunset and thunder.

At the entrance of a long-neglected coffee house, a few tufts of weeds turned yellow from lack of sunlight, accompanying the broken windows and wicker chairs toppled on the ground, adding a touch of desolation.

An apocalypse for Humans has unveiled the city's glamorous facade, and within a few short years, only ruins and desolate countryside continued to linger in resilience. Bristol, not too bustling to begin with, grew even quieter.

Footprints leading to the balcony crossed the dust-covered floors inside, indicative of an unexpected guest on the coffee house's second-floor balcony.

Julius leaned back on the sofa, legs crossed, transfixed by the ominous sky.

A delicate glass teapot sat on the tea table in front of him, mold climbing its inner walls, dried tea leaves and the unrecognizable remains of decayed fruits settled at its bottom.

Perhaps at so point in the past, this place was frequented by fashionably dressed n and won, sipping fruit tea and embracing each other with love.

This man seed sowhat unapproachable; his profile was chiseled like a refined blade, angular but not overly sharp, yet his eyes, cold as stars when frowning, were frighteningly piercing.

That capturing aura truly demands both respect and fear, compelling people to steal a few more glances at him.

Beside him lay a completely dented Alloy Shield, its interior equipped with a weapon rack-like fra, bent violently and tied like a rope with a line of broken weapons—

A teor Hamr shattered into waterlon-sized pieces;

Only half of the guillotine blade remained;

Six Alloy Spears twisted or broken;

And a double-headed axe with a deeply imprinted tal handle, only half remaining.

A gust of wind blew, Julius's ears slightly moved, as he heard the sound of shoe soles scraping against the wooden stairs inside the house. A middle-aged man placed his hands behind his back, a long lead box hanging from him, stood tall and walked with large strides beside Julius.

The old man wore a neat but sowhat faded military uniform, overlooking the Alloy Shield at Julius's feet, slowly speaking: "You returned to Shenhua Continent?"

A mont later, he seed to realize he had asked a useless question and imdiately changed the topic: "Having returned, why co back again?"

Julius looked sideways at the scenery below, speaking lightly: "I rember long ago, my father was born here too..."

The old man didn't care about how dirty the sofa was, sat directly opposite Julius, sighed and said:

"That was many years ago, back when the apocalypse hadn't occurred, the road was still bustling, unlike now where even getting a decent al is hard."

These middle-aged people at least have seen the city's prosperity, but now many young people can only witness this ruinous scene.

If possible, the old man also wished he could live in a peaceful and quiet city. Unfortunately, fragile human bodies couldn't withstand a Monster's invasion, and earth-shaking artillery had limited effect on suppressing Monsters, with the global unified war alliance's defense lines retreating step by step over the years.

But the old man didn't know, Julius had also seen another world's scenery, a place where Monsters soared high, gripping thick chains across two people, dragging massive floating islands through the sky.

Floating islands similarly housed steel jungles, with bustling sounds and pedestrians talking and laughing. In the ranches, at Monsters dosticated by Mages were enormous. Every cut of at sizzled on sizzling iron plates, emitting a rich aroma.

In his mory, he tasted many.

Julius was not of this world, at least not initially.

He hailed from the Bell Federation, the largest force under the Human Alliance, a mber of the Bell Federation, a Mage living within the Lancaster Territory.

However, during a battle, part of his consciousness had issues, felt torn apart, and flew to another world, reborn as an infant.

Even while in the cradle, he learned a lot from the news; this world had no Monsters, let alone harnessing them.

This was the worst outco; he had arrived in an End of Dharma World.

But before he had ti to despair, he was horrified to find he couldn't connect with the paynt engineering, unable to pull his consciousness back into his body on Shenhua Continent.

If consciousness stays separated from the body too long, brain Death is highly likely.

He tried every possible thod to quickly return to his holand.

Ultimately, surpassing the critical ti point for consciousness return, he had to despairingly admit he was trapped in this world with no way back.

Perhaps because the infant's immature brain couldn't bear his jumbling mories, nearly all his mories rapidly blurred and even dissipated within a year of rebirth.

Later, he barely rembered anything from his past life. Only occasionally would he recall that sowhere in the endless void once lay such a brilliant and dazzling civilization.
