Sylvaris lay on the bed with Aureve in his arms, her breath still trembling against his chest. So might say the bond between stepmother and stepson had taken a sinful turn tonight, but who the hell were they to judge? Life hadn’t been kind to either of them, and this mont... it just happened.

She was now the fourth woman in his harem. And unlike the others, this one ca with baggage filled with pain. A history of misery, years spent suffocating under her husband’s rule, her heart beaten into silence by a man who never truly saw her until Sylvaris ca along. He had beco her savior and her forbidden prince. It took her over two decades of a cold, loveless marriage to find soone who made her feel alive.

But now, Sylvaris had to bear the weight of what he’d done. He carried the sin of bedding his father’s woman, which caused a ripple in the balance.

He didn’t care whether he faced his father head-on, or let the consequences of that wrath crash into him like a tidal wave... it didn’t matter.

He made his choice to sleep with her, to use her as a tool for revenge. And there would be hell to pay.

"Thank you..." she whispered, voice barely audible. Despite losing herself completely just monts ago, despite all those cold years of brushing Sylvaris aside, now she clung to him like an innocent kitten, trembling in his arms. What she didn’t realize was that the change in her wasn’t just emotional.

The Harem God System had already claid her soul.

Once a woman was added to that list, sothing inside them shifted. Permanently. They couldn’t help it. No matter who they were before, after that mont, they could never look at Sylvaris the sa way again. Not as a stepson. Not as a boy. Not even as a simple man.

He was theirs. And more importantly, they were his.

Sylvaris didn’t fully grasp it yet either, but he’d begun to notice the subtle signs. The way their eyes lingered. The sudden submission. That hunger... That... desperation. It all happened too suddenly; the shift was unnatural.

He pressed a soft kiss to her forehead, and Aureve lted deeper into his hold. Her curves shifted against him, searching for warmth, as if letting go now would shatter sothing inside her.

"What are you saying?" he murmured, brushing his fingers through her brown hair. "There’s no need to thank for anything."

His voice was calm, his touch gentle, and under it, she blood. Her eyes fluttered shut. In his arms, she finally felt... wanted, loved, and... safe.

"No... There is so much," she whispered. "I could thank you a million ways, and it still wouldn’t be enough to say how I feel..."

She reached for his hand, delicate fingers tracing along his fingertips as if morizing him. Clinging to him like he was the only thing keeping her from crumbling apart.

"I’ve been in this family for twenty-five years," she said, voice shaking, "and from the mont I stepped into this household, I watched Arathor change." She let out a soft sigh. "Slowly... he beca the monster you see now. And I..."

A single tear slipped down her cheek, slow and silent, like it was dragging a lifeti of pain with it, desperate to escape and never return.

Sylvaris could feel the cold tear hit his skin, a soft trace of salt that carried more than sadness, it carried weight, stories, and pain. But then sothing happened that he didn’t expect. It started slow, like a shiver in his spine, but in the blink of an eye, it turned into a flood, a wave of emotions that weren’t his, a storm of buried mories crashing through his mind without warning.

Her pain washed over him so violently that he could barely breathe, his chest tightening, his heart pounding, his eyes stinging with unshed tears he didn’t allow to fall. He kept it in. Swallowed it. But the weight of it all made his body tense so hard that it startled Aureve.

She jumped back slightly, horror in her eyes as she clutched his arm.

"Sylvaris?! Are you okay? Sylvaris, talk to !"

But he didn’t respond. Well... he couldn’t. His mind was no longer fully his. As if it were now filled with pieces of her. The mories she never spoke of. The nights she cried alone. The way her love had decayed under Arathor’s shadow. All of it, flooding into him like open wounds begging to be felt.

Aureve didn’t realize it yet, but sothing inside her had shifted too. The pain she carried, the sorrow she’d grown used to like second skin... it was gone. All of it had been drawn into Sylvaris, taken without words, without even knowing how. There was only warmth inside her now. An unfamiliar silence in the places where grief used to echo.

And then, deep within his mind, the system stirred, but not cold or chanical this ti, it was almost... reverent.

[The system has located deep-seated emotional trauma within your harem mber. As the bearer of the bond, you are required to undergo a ntal trial to confront and pacify the pain. This is not a task of strength, but of resolve. Only a true man can carry the emotions of a woman, bear them without breaking, and return them in a form that makes her whole again. If you succeed, a new title and ability shall be granted. This is your path now. Walk it like a champ]

His vision blurred, and the warmth of the room vanished, replaced by a sudden chill that crawled over his skin like a creeping mist. Darkness swallowed everything around him. It felt endless and heavy, as if the world had collapsed inward. Cold air brushed against his cheeks, damp and thick, filled with the soft, rhythmic—drip... drip... drip—of water echoing through a hollow chamber.

Where am I...? Shit... my head... it hurts like hell. One second I was lying in bed... and now I’m here, fully clothed, surrounded by darkness and the sound of water... He looked around, his breath visible in the air, chest rising and falling faster with every second. Is this the system’s doing...?
