Ning rode on the roof of the lead tanker, keeping watch far and wide. The northern regions of Conjora, though deserted, had a very cool atmosphere, so he had no trouble staying out during the noon.

It gave him the best view out of any other place and gave him enough room to react to any threats that might co out of nowhere. He sat and watched the terrain scroll past, rivers and mountains turning into plains. The journey here had taken him an hour when he flew by himself, but on the tanker it was going to take an entire day.

According to the drivers, they were going to reach the refinent facility soti in the evening tomorrow. Once night fell, Silverstreak ca out and climbed on top to have a conversation with Ning.

She seed more than curious about Ning’s powers and what he was capable of. A hero’s powers weren’t advertised as openly, so she only had so idea of what he could do and wondered what else he could do.

Ning was in a similar situation regarding Silverstreak. He knew she had the ability to teleport, but it had a lot of limitations. He wondered what those were.

"I can connect any two surfaces that are more or less white in color," she said. "Hence my na."

"Connect two surfaces? What do you an?" Ning asked.

Silverstreak smiled and placed her hand on her chest. Suddenly, her hand sunk into her body, coming out of her back.

For a second, Ning thought that her hand had phased through her body, but upon further notice, it had entered the white on the front of her costu and co out the back where it was also white.

"I see. So you can create portals using any two white surfaces," Ning said as he finally understood her powers. "What is the range of this?"

"Not that big. It’s enough to capture criminals I can see from a short distance away," she said.

"Do you have to see sothing white to create the portal, or do you just know?" he asked.

"I have to see it to use my powers," she explained.

Ning chuckled. "That’s a fun power. Easy to sneak up on people or drag them away to safety."

"Only I can enter through the white," the woman quickly said. "So it’s not that easy, but I’ve done the best I could."

Ning nodded. The conversation continued for a while as he explained his own powers. Silverstreak was quite surprised at how simple his powers were, considering the rank he had received. She had apparently expected them to be a lot more complex.

After a while, the conversation lulled and Silverstreak decided to return as it began getting too cold for her to comfortably stay outside. Ning let her be and stayed where he was. Alone, Ning thought about the crystals back in the walls of the mines. Thinking about them led him to think about Sharron and how far she had co with her discoveries. He wondered if she had made any significant progress in the month since he had left her.

He had thought of sothing already and truly wanted to talk to her about it soon.

The rest of the journey was the sa, with no one bothering them at all. Late in the afternoon, the group reached the processing base at the edge of the deserted land, from where the land turned green further south.

The ore needed a full day to finish converting, which ant waiting and protecting. There wasn’t a particular need to be vigilant as the location was close enough to a city with many heroes and was also surrounded by many military professionals.

All Ning had to do now was wait, but he was not particularly good at that. He couldn’t leave the base, so he slept when he could and walked the periter when he couldn’t. Silverstreak and Threadreaper seed far too tired for anything, so Ning hardly saw them except during lunch hours.

Once the processing was completed, Ning and the rest were taken to an airport with a private plane, which would take them the rest of the way.

Ning watched a single blue tal drum be loaded onto the plane and couldn’t help but be surprised at just how little had co from the four different tankers that were brought to the processing facility.

"How much Aullazire is in that container?" Ning asked the system.

Ning frowned. That was far, far less than what they were led to believe. They had thought it would at least be half a ton, but it appeared that they had overshot their estimation by at least 10 tis.

’With such little Aullazire, what can they even do?’ Ning wondered. In the end, it wasn’t his concern, so he ignored the matter any further.

The final journey took three hours, and they landed outside the sa facility Ning and the rest of the heroes had co to more than a month ago. The damage he had done to the roof where he tore it apart to take Number 3 away had been fully fixed, to a point where he couldn’t even tell what was new and what was old.

They stayed around to see the handoff, at which point their job had finally co to an end. It had taken them nearly six days from start to finish, so it was indeed a week-long task if one counted just the workdays.

They were free to leave, but Ning decided to stay around and see if he could et Sharron.

She was a busy woman, and he didn’t have any clearance, so he had to wait around for a few hours before he could et her. He was led to her room, where she was focused on sothing in front of her, a row of small vials arranged beside so notes, a tablet propped open nearby.

Ning coughed, and only then did she realize soone had co to her room.
