[*Ding* Reached level 39]
Looking at the final level up notification that directly inford her about having jumped all the way from level 34 to level 39 with a single spell, Scaly couldn’t help but feel an overwhelming sense of excitent at the rapid increase in strength she had just experienced. Not even caring about the fact that the spell just now had essentially burnt through most of her mana and left her with only a little less than twenty percent of her total.
Not only had that one spell ended up killing what should at least be over four thousand undead and skeletons down below, but the sheer destructive might of the spell itself left behind a clear empty hole in the middle of the undead army where the circular wave had swept through a few seconds earlier.
Unsurprisingly, this kind of destruction caused both the undead army and the monsters fighting them to pause for a bit before they ultimately resud their battle like nothing had happened after seeing each other. Intelligence being far from the strong suit of both sides, as they began clashing with each other once again. Only this ti around, the undead army was clearly not in the sa superior position as it had been only a few seconds earlier.
The only battle that remained the sa from start to end was the battle playing out between the powerful monsters at the S Rank and the equally powerful undead and skeletons.
Observing all this playing out from high above, Scaly found herself feeling a bit reluctant over how she had just burnt through all her mana using the circular wave spell. Feeling it was a great pity watching the monsters and undead killing each other, as it ant there was no way for her to obtain any experience from them any longer.
But then again, she also understood that while she did co up with a few other spells she wanted to test out for dealing with a large number of enemies, none of them would co anywhere close to the destruction caused by the circular wave spell even if she exhausted all her mana.
Not to ntion, her reason for using the circular wave spell wasn’t just because she wanted to test out this powerful spell against the undead army, but also because she wanted to avoid the undead successfully overwhelming the monsters too fast, as the second the monsters were overwheld, she and Verdell would find themselves facing the entire undead army on their own.
No matter how strong the two of them might be when working together, there was no way for them to stand up against an army made up of over ten thousand undead with close to a dozen S Rank undead and skeletons leading them.
For the two of them, the best scenario was to take advantage of the battle between the monsters controlled by the dungeon core and the undead army to chip away at the undead army from the side.
Although this would inevitably an that a lot of the undead army would die to the monsters and none of the monsters would be able to provide them with any experience, it was the only way for them to take on such a large undead army with their current strength.
Of course, for this kind of plan to even work in the first place, the two necromancers had to be taken out, as only without them around would the undead army be unable to move like a proper army and would instead behave in a reckless manner attacking everything around them that wasn’t an undead or skeleton.
Even with Scaly causing close to half of the undead army to perish, it rely caused the undead to freeze for a brief instant before returning to their battle against the monsters.
As for the monsters... Scaly and Verdell didn’t have to care much about what they did, as the dungeon core had rely commanded them out to delay the undead army from reaching the main battlefield.
In other words, they had been dood to fall from beginning to end, if they ended up dragging the undead army down with them, that was a surprise that the dungeon core would undoubtedly welco with open arms.
Still, now that her mana had reached critical levels, Scaly decided to hold back from using magic until she had to face off against those S Rank undead and skeletons after they finished off the S Rank Monsters they were currently facing off against.
Whoosh~
Diving back down towards the undead below-
Swish~ Ptsh!
[Gained 2422 Exp]
Wasting no ti as she began using her claws to cut through the weaker undead and skeletons that remained down below. Making sure to target the different skeletons and undead that had the ability to use magic or fire arrows into the sky towards her so as to make it easier for her to take advantage of natural advantage of flying in the future, as it was clear from the battle between the S Rank Monsters and the powerful undead and skeletons, that not all of them had the ability to fly.
"What in the world was that spell..." And at the sa ti Scaly dove back down from the sky to join the battle against the undead that remained, Verdell, who had watched the ridiculous water spell from afar, couldn’t help silently muttering a few words to himself. Not able to believe what he had just witnessed.
After all, the scope of destruction caused by that water spell wasn’t sothing possible at the S Rank and undoubtedly belonged to the SS Rank.
Even though he had already had a high opinion of Scaly’s strength from beginning to end, he had always firmly believed that she was a dragon who had reached the S Rank in terms of strength, but from the looks of it, she might already be close to the SS Rank in terms of strength.
But as he thought about this for a bit, he suddenly realized that he wasn’t that surprised about Scaly’s strength. Rembering how the two of them had already taken out two people at the SS Rank not that long ago.
Injured as those two people had been, it was clear that the one Scaly had faced off back then was nowhere near as injured as the one he had ended up finding himself facing off against. The simple fact that she had successfully managed to take down the other party in the end was more than enough proof that she wasn’t simply a normal dragon with strength at the S Rank...
Shaking his head as these thoughts erged, Verdell shifted his attention back to the undead horde surging towards him with a seemingly relentless resolve that wouldn’t disappear even in death-
Fwooosh-!
Waving his hand as flas curled around his hand before surging forward in cone of flas that directly incinerated a dozen or so undead who got a bit too close to him. Feeling the distinct sense of his own strength increasing even as his mana drained away to active his magic. Knowing his level had ones again increased. An experience he had started getting used to since he and Scaly descended to this final floor of the swirling sands dungeon.
Even if it also ant he found himself in a state of constant battle, he couldn’t really say he disliked this kind of situation of rapidly increasing his own strength. If anything, the feeling was sowhat addicting and made him understand the feelings of so senior adventurers who always threw themselves headfirst into danger to rapidly increase their own strength.
But with this, he also felt a silent chill run down his spine. Understanding that while this kind of situation was great for rapidly increasing his own strength, a single misstep could cost him his life. Making all this progress of his disappear in an instant.
Silently taking a deep breath at this realization, he could only shake his head regretfully in the end. Even if he wanted to progress in a safer environnt, he understood that he didn’t exactly have the luxury of doing that in his current situation.
If anything, he needed to do his best to increase his ti now that the enemies he found himself facing off against were only masterless undead and skeletons that posed no real threat as long as didn’t end up getting surrounded and sward by them.
Fwoosh-! Boom!
Luckily, it was simple enough for him to keep a distance using his fire magic after successfully breaking out of the initial encirclent he had found himself in when landing directly on top of the sowhat weaker necromancer he had been tasked with killing. The one positive from his landing back then being the fact that he had been able to use the montary confusion from the two necromancers and the explosive wave of fire he had unleashed on the landing to carve a path out and ensure he wouldn’t end up in that kind of position.
