"Unfortunately, we were too late to the scene of the battle. When we arrived there, everyone was already dead and the Commander was missing."
"We suspect so sort of foul play. A friend of one of the diseased soldiers told us sothing about a treasure. He doesn't know any specific details but it is definitely sothing strong."
"They most likely used that treasure to defeat the Commander and take him as a hostage. At least this is what I think has happened."
"Otherwise, how could both our main team and the Commander's personal team be obliterated completely?" Zemin sighed. He then lifted his head to look up at the two scout team mbers.
"There. I have now told you everything I know. It is your turn to talk." His eyes turned sharp, all of the previous emotions disappearing.
"Alright." Fang Yuan nodded. He quickly exchanged a look with Geming as he had no idea how to break this to the General. He was pretty sure that the man was wrong about everything.
Lu Chen, Alex, and the others did not even kill the both of them when they had captured them but now they had killed so many people?
Sothing else had definitely happened and this might concern the future of both of their camps. So especially now, it was important to talk about things first before jumping into action.
But the General looked far too agitated to accept this… It would probably be better if the other guy recovered and spilled everything.
Fang Yuan sighed and began to speak. He knew that the man would most likely not believe his truth so he decided to try sothing else.
"Leader Zemin, those people are actually not that bad."
Hmm? The general's eyebrows imdiately shot up just after hearing these few words.
"When we t them, they even helped us. It is highly impossible for them to have killed all of our people. Maybe a strong beast attacked?"
The man still did not look convinced so Fang Yuan continued talking. "Were the people who died only from our side or their people had also been killed?"
"Oh?" This ti Zemin couldn't help but pause and think about everything again as this was an important point that he had not considered.
Fang Yuan quickly used this mont to press on. "General, if you don't mind. I think it's best if I and Geming first visit the other group and talk about what actually happened."
"Maybe I can even convince them to join us without need for any other violence."
"Yes Sir. I think this is the best option as well. If it is indeed a powerful beast, we might need everyone's help to take it down." Geming also intervened and suggested.
Zemin looked at the two youths in front of him. From his years of experience, he could tell that they were both speaking earnestly, but still, considering everything he was a little bit reluctant to trust them.
He remained silent for a mont before waving his hand. "Alright. I will give you an hour, but if they don't willingly co and join us within that ti, then I cannot guarantee anything."
"We have no other choice. We have to do things our way. There is too much at risk. I hope you can understand." He nodded and sent the duo away.
Though he still did not trust them completely, he wouldn't lose too much even if he did. So he decided to give them a chance.
After they received the go signal, Fang Yuan and Geming instantly hurried out of the facility afraid that the man might change his mind.
"Idiots. The things we have to do to save them from themselves. Sigh." Fang Yuan chuckled wryly.
"Yuan, what do you think? Will they talk to us?" Geming was worried about other things.
As soon as he said that, the image of a fiery woman ca to his mind and he could already imagine her reaction. That tigress! She was definitely going to laugh them off!
Fang Yuan shook his head and sighed. "What other choice do we have? That guy looked very reasonable. If we could et with him instead of that mad woman… then perhaps…"
A few minutes later… unfortunately for them…
Fang Yuan and Geming neared the hospital zone and as soon as they arrived there, a tall, lean, and toned figure landed in front of them, jumping from god knows where.
"Heh? What are you two doing here? Shouldn't you be busy holding a funeral?" Alex sneered.
Ah… Fang Yuan dumbfoundedly stared at the tanned fiery beauty. She looked even more beautiful and feisty than he rembered. Damn it, what am I thinking about?
"Ahem. Can you be a bit more sensitive towards the dead and not talk like this?" He coughed awkwardly.
Hmph. Alex huffed. She didn't want to talk to the hateful guy, so she only looked at the person standing near him.
"Eh? You want to capture us like we are so sort of criminals and I should be respectful of your dead? Dream on. If I had more ti, I would go again and fully burn their bodies!"
"So violent…" Fang Yuan sighed and muttered under his breath, but as a person with enhanced ability obviously, the woman standing near him heard it all.
"I can be even more violent. Want to see?"
Alex twisted her lips, slamming the thick rod repeatedly onto her palm as if she was a class teacher waiting to dole out punishnts. There were even sparks of fire flying from her hand.
Fang Yuan gulped and took a step back to hide behind Geming. "Miss Demoness, please. I didn't co here to fight with you. We have important things to talk about. Can you call out Lu Chen?"
"Why? I don't look like a person to you? You can tell whatever it is that you want to talk to him about. Hmph." She spat out.
The two of them did not look like they were going to stop bickering any ti soon, so Geming finally stepped in and spoke up. "Miss Alex, please… This is serious."
