Shido removed his shoe and placed it on the side along with the other shoes.

Hearing his na being called, Shido turned, but then sothing moved at a fast speed before smashing into him.

It was Kotori in Commander mode.

Shido can only smile bitterly at her indifference.
He knew he was at fault for not saying anything about his whereabouts or condition, making her both angry and worried.

And now, watching him in front of her again, Kotori felt that she wanted to tear up sohow and leaped into his arms as Tohka did. Yet, she's in her Commander Mode and she cannot let herself be seen as vulnerable by other people, especially in front of Shido.

"Like I said, how did you even co up with that idea?"
Shido felt that he was being cornered from both sides with Kotori and Tohka facing him.
Although he could still feel Kotori's chilling gaze, he temporarily ignored her and focused on making Tohka stop crying.
"Tohka, I will not leave you, okay?"
"No, Shido's a liar! You didn't co back ho last night!"
"Sothing just ca up so I was unable to return ho."
"I'm sorry Tohka, I promise not to leave you again."

Looking at Tohka, who was now pouting while still clinging tightly to him, Shido could only sigh helplessly.
Coaxing Tohka was really hard and takes a lot of ti to make her calm down.
Fortunately, she finally stopped crying and was just pouting now.
Shido then decided to use his secret weapon.
"Tohka, I bought you Kinako Bread on the way here."
Shido pulled out a bag of freshly baked Kinako Bread.
At the sight of the large quantity, Tohka's eyes lit up, gazing at the bread as though it were the most precious treasure in the world.

Reine expressionless face looked at their direction and stared at Shido for a brief mont. She gave a simple greeting before she moved her gaze away.

Shido was thinking of all the possible things that made her angry at him until he arrived at the worst conclusion he could think.

He can imdiately co up with a reason why she could know of what happened last night. Although her Reiryoku was sealed, she can still use a portion of it and she might have used it to track him and look at his situation.
And his guess is absolutely correct.
Last night Reine used her Spirit powers to locate him and peek at his situation. She was worried that sothing happened to this guy.
Though she knows that he is strong especially when he could escape Nightmare's pursuit.
