"What—"

Yu Shao Yan froze in place, her throat bleeding and restricting her movents.

Her sharp gaze was locked on the young man before her.

Despite her exclamation, he moved with calm resolve, placing his fingers firmly against her forehead.

The gesture was unexpected, and confusion clouded her mind until a strange sensation coursed through her body.

She stiffened instantly.

'!?'

"Y-you?!" she stamred, her voice trembling with disbelief.

Though she'd experienced sothing similar in yesterday's battle, this ti was different.

She felt the very essence of her internal energy vanish in an instant, draining into nothingness.

Her body, her core—it felt as though it had been hollowed out.

The energy she'd painstakingly recovered was gone, leaving her feeling weak and defenseless.

"....."

Ryuk lowered his hand, his expression unreadable.

He stared at his fingers for a mont, clenching them tightly.

The outco was far from what he had expected.

Though he had hoped to nullify her soul, the effect was limited to her internal energy.

It beca evident that he lacked the strength needed to achieve his full intent.

Shifting his focus downward, his gaze fell on Jenny's unconscious form lying sprawled on the ground.

Without hesitation, he began to move toward her.

"W-where are you going?!" Yu Shao Yan yelled, her voice laced with panic.

The sight of Ryuk approaching Jenny filled her with dread, as if he intended to harm her in so unspeakable way.

Before either of them could act further, a sudden disturbance rippled through the air.

Swish!

A sharp tearing sound resonated, accompanied by a flash of vivid blue light.

Two figures erged, cloaked in black, their eyes glowing a fiery orange—an unmistakable mark of the Devereux family.

They knelt silently on the ground, their imposing presence undeniable.

Behind them stood two younger individuals, their deanor casual yet lazy.

"Long ti no see, big sis," Mae said, lifting her right hand in greeting.

Her tone was light, even playful, despite the tense atmosphere.

"Yo, Big Sister," Sam yawned, rubbing his eyes as though he had just woken from a nap.

'!?'

"Huh? What are you two doing here?!" Es snapped, her frustration evident.

Her eyes widened in disbelief as she took in the sight of the twins.

She had left them safely aboard the battleship, with strict instructions not to follow her into this dangerous territory.

Yet there they were, standing before her in defiance of her orders, prompting her to swiftly approach them and deliver two punches to each of their heads.

"Wait! It wasn't us—it was these two who brought us here!" Sam protested, pointing accusingly at the kneeling cloaked figures.

Mae nodded in agreent, wincing as Sam's outburst earned both siblings a swift headbutt from Es.

"Huh? Why?" Es's sharp gaze flickered to the cloaked individuals, her voice cold and demanding. Find adventures at empire

Ryuk, too, found the situation suspicious.

The only plausible explanation for such a breach of protocol was an imminent threat—most likely so threat that was approaching battleships, prompting them to bring twins here.

"How many?" Ryuk asked, his tone firm and authoritative.

He needed to know how many enemy ships had prompted this reckless decision to move the twins out of the battleship, where they were ant to remain safe.

"My Liege, our radars have detected seven enemy battleships approaching.

They belong to the Bloodmoon Vampire Clan," one of the cloaked figures reported with precision.

Their voice carried the weight of urgency.

"Among them is a ship marked with the insignia of the Bloodbanes—a faction infamous for their brainless bloodlust.

They are warriors, savage and relentless."

"Bloodmoon?" Ryuk's brow furrowed as he absorbed the information.

Vampires, by nature, were bloodsucking predators, but the ntion of this particular clan stirred a mory.

He recalled Wang's words about the Devereux family when he was in Heindal and first ca to know about the history of his mother.

The Bloodmoon Clan was the very group his mother had annihilated during her rise as the flagbearer.

Their presence here, in Jade Dominion, could not be a coincidence.

"They are here for you, My Liege," Regina said, her voice steady and unwavering.

Her sharp eyes remained fixed on Yu Shao Yan, who visibly recoiled.

The ntion of the Bloodmoon Clan seed to evoke a deep, visceral reaction in Yu Shao—a mixture of strange mories of battles on rogue lands.

'!'

"Y-you! Why do you want to destroy this land?"

Yu Shao Yan burst out in anger as she understood the consequences this whole thing would bring if now the vampires, which were considered one of the strongest races, were to intervene and arrive here with clear intentions of a war solely due to this man who first acted instead of remaining hidden sowhere and now had brought such devastation on the whole Jade Dominion.

'....A revenge, huh?',

Ryuk processed the information, understanding it was most probably revenge on him due to the actions of his mother, which was expected.

"How much ti will it take them to arrive here?" As he further inquired, processing the ti in which he would need to leave this place, or at least have enough ti to recover himself after dealing with the main city inside the Jade Dominion.

The main city was the place where the monarch resided, and it appeared the attacks and source of civil war that had occurred inside the Celestial Phoenix Order were sourced from there, with him clearly preparing to first go against them, but now a variable had occurred.

Ryuk inquired before trying to understand how those people were aware of him being here.

Given that the distances would not be covered easily by any communication network, for them to know about him being here, there needed to be soone pulling the strings from behind, and that soone could inevitably be soone who wanted to see him in a broken state, either cornered or dead.

'Diana? Or the Devereux family?....Drishti',

Ryuk could only think of three entities particularly familiar with him who had clear intentions of pulling the strings due to first being obsessed with cornering him, second having hatred, and third just wanting to fulfill her interests.

But soon enough, he placed these thoughts aside as chances of Drishti's involvent appeared lower this ti, given this was a war and the chances of him dying were huge.

And as per he knew her, she would rather want to watch more interesting things than wanting to put an end to an object of her interest.

"Seven days, given their speed, and another three days for their main army to arrive,"

the cloaked figure inford based on the calculations done on velocity and distance between them and Jade Dominion.

'System, how much ti will it take for Diana to arrive here?' Ryuk, putting aside the information received from the cloaked figure, inquired of the system about Diana's arrival, considering that if he was correct, she would most likely be in a frenzy and clearly angered state.

[Analysing...]

[Host, it will take a total of 12 days for Diana Riantain to reach the Jade Dominion.]

'....2 days...,' Ryuk thought upon hearing the information about the possibility that he needed to hold out for two days, and with one arrow he would be able to secure two outcos.

If everything went well, he would just need to set the vampires against Diana and leave this place unscathed.
