I clicked my tongue. I was a degenerate, sure—but the fun kind. I preferred chasing panties, not stacking skulls.
[Host, this is a limited-ti offer. You have thirty seconds to decide.]
’Oh well. Looks like I don’t have a choice,’ I gave in, dumping all the bla squarely on the system.
BOOM!
I landed with style, body straight and hands clasped behind my back, gazing at everyone present with the disappointnt of an elder who expected better.
"Poor souls. You sold your humanity for greed and profit." My aged voice carried wisdom, good enough to sell the role.
"Who are you?" a scientist wearing silver-rimd glasses asked. His eyebrows permanently creased from a lifeti of frowning.
"Who am I?" I shook my head, as if the question itself offended . "Normally, I wouldn’t bother giving my na. None of you are worthy of hearing it."
I paused, letting the silence press down on them.
"But today, I’ll make an exception because the stars aligned. Consider it a final courtesy from ."
My gaze hardened, the air around turning into a mist as I released my Qi.
"My na is Master Cheng," I declared. "A Nine-Star Master Teacher."
"Nine-Star Master Teacher?" Their eyebrows shot up in unison.
Of course, they wouldn’t get it—only n who has good taste for face slapping novels would know.
"That’s right. As a Master Teacher, it’s my duty to guide those who’ve lost their way back to the right path." I sighed.
"Unfortunately, I’ve lost the ability to reach hearts through enlightennt... so I’ll just use this instead."
SWOOOSH!
Before anyone could react, I appeared behind the scientist with my jade sword drawn.
Seconds later, his body was sliced cleanly in half, both halves hitting the ground simultaneously.
[1 1 Points]
I looked at the bloodied, jade-colored blade and showed no emotion.
SWOOOSH!
I moved again. The mont my second target fell, alarms blared and everyone scattered.
It was useless. My speed let kill them faster than they could take a few steps.
If there was any consolation, they never had ti to react before they died.
SLASH!
I kept moving, blade flashing again and again.
Blood painted the floor in ssy streaks as bodies fell one after another.
Then I stopped.
A young woman sat frozen in place, her arm raised to shield her face, eyes squeezed shut as if that alone might save her. She was... pretty. Too pretty and young to be killed.
Like I said—won were my kryptonite. Killing one who posed no imdiate threat was hard.
Everyone else, though? Fair ga.
Skipping her, I resud my work, air singing as it carved through the rest.
Just as I finished my twentieth kill, a buzzing sound filled the air.
I turned—and saw a man covered in flas, throwing a fire covered fist.
BOOOOM!
The impact exploded outward, flas consuming everything around .
Good thing I had already wrapped myself in Qi, minimizing the damage.
"Who are you, old man?!" he rumbled, seeing that my weapon blocked his attack.
"Didn’t you get the mo, young one?" I replied calmly. "I’m Master Cheng, and I’m here to teach you a once in a lifeti lesson about the value of human life."
thud!
I kicked him square in the chest, sending him flying, followed up with a fast downward strike—but he twisted away, flas bursting beneath his feet.
Once he reached a safe distance, he unleashed his power.
Fire balls ca flying towards , scorching the ground and other equipnt.
So, this was it.
The first S‑Rank on the file.
Strong as his flas was, he was still weaker than Rhea—by several levels.
If I had to rank his combat ability among S‑Ranks, I would give him a 30 out of 100. Rhea on the other hand would around the 60 marks.
Right when I was thinking how weak he was, the heat from his flas started rising.
Soon, sprinklers activated in the other sections, leaving only the area where we were fighting untouched. A controlled activation.
"Let’s see..." I took a deep breath and began manipulating my Qi in a different way, shifting it until the flas around started flowing with my movents.
His eyes widened—he hadn’t expected to control his own power.
"Young one, you’re very unlucky to face ," I chuckled, waving my sword to direct a slash of fire toward him.
He dodged instinctively, and behind him the flas erupted, carving deep gashes into the walls.
This was another technique I created: Qi Veil—a thod that lets redirect and control other attacks, whether flas, wind, or more.
Thanks to Rhea and the other girls, I’d reached a level where I could actually use it in real combat.
With him still dazed, I moved my blade again, redirecting attacks effortlessly with each step I took. My smile never wavered.
"A Master Teacher doesn’t overpower," I continued. "He corrects."
I raised my sword—not in haste, not in impulse. One precise motion followed, guided by Qi Veil, slipping past his defense.
thud!
His body collapsed a heartbeat later.
Lesson concluded.
[DING 2 2]
So even that guy... barely a two‑star mber.
’Let’s wrap things up—’ I paused when I spotted the sa girl I’d spared earlier.
’Tsk.’
I clicked my tongue in annoyance. Her survival instinct matched those horror movie characters who see danger, think about it for a second, and then walk straight into it.
"Young girl, I’m going to kill everyone here," I said bluntly. "So run away before I change my mind."
She didn’t say a word. She simply turned and ran.
Finally, she found her common sense.
Without wasting any more ti, I moved through the unexplored sections of the underground base.
This place was deep. Thankfully, the ratio of won to n was about one in twenty, so I was picking up points like so blue hedgehog collecting golden rings.
Though if I activated my shadow ability, I would probably look more like the black and red version.
"Stop!" The ard guards finally arrived, opening fire with their advanced and state of the art automatic rifles.
