Chapter 432: No more hermits
The next Empire Council was a very lively one. The discussions over genes and morphotypes lasted an hour straight before I put an end to the bickering between Tabletina and Bloodhero—the ringleaders of this argunt.
Tabletina wanted Beehounds to get the regeneration limit break so that she could study the process of limbs regrowing. She was hoping to learn how to make prosthetics based on it. She was also hoping that with extra regeneration I might permit Beemarines to volunteer to her more experintal and radical augntation projects.
The scientific prospects made Researchina stand by Tabletina’s side. Worriesgone joined too, but only because of her sympathy for the soldiers who had lost limbs in fights and were forced to take other jobs. Many of them had beco Artists, after all.
Bloodhero just wanted Beemarines to get the toughest skin, which would not only make them more defended but also allow them to stop wearing armor.
Which would be only a boon for the economics, as she argued to bring Workharder and Things-Things on her side.
The rest of the Advisers either had their own preferences or were more neutral. Like Whisper, who actually wanted to hold off upgrades until I got more gene points to max out Beemarines’ attack genes.
In the end, those were Tabletina’s argunts which had convinced … to absolutely not pick the regeneration limit break!
If Beemarines could regenerate, they were just going to beco volunteers/victims of Tabletina’s experints. And those who were crippled in fights weren’t going to get the morphotype upgrade, anyway—any changes will only affect the future broods.
So in the end, Beemarines got the thick skin limit break, and for the Hardbees I chose the heat resistance upgrade.
It was only a matter of ti until they showed everybody how incredibly OP they were!

A month passed, and the new broods of upgraded Beemarines, Beehounds and Hardbees not only erged from their cells but also finished their basic education and took their first jobs.
Yet again, the Bee Empire was preparing for war. But while gathering forces and training new soldiers was sothing the entire Empire Council was very familiar with, we also had another major task in front of us.
Although technically the Bee Empire now had Judji Republic, Eastern Expanse Reach, as well as Naregan, Kachi-Chi and Barahi kingdoms within it as new regions, in practice, these countries were way more divided from the main infrastructure than the bee regions.
This had to change—human infrastructure needed optimization, even in the Naregan Kingdom, where I had ti to start so improvents.
There was also the Hatha Kingdom, the territories of which I also planned to conquer, eventually. Because they were there and ripe for the taking, if nothing else, and it was only a matter of ti when the Bee Empire ran out of space.
These were logistical and administrative tasks of imnse complexity, especially because of the distance that any order had to travel from Hive Supremo to the leaders of my human-settled regions.
But the telepathy limit break helped imnsely!
With a ten tis increase in the telepathy’s range, ten tis fewer telepathic signalers could send ssages over the sa distance. And because there were fewer bees to recite the ssages to, this took ten tis less ti. Which reduced the need for signalers even more!
I was happy twice over, because the job of a signaler until now was often one of the most miserable. When there were no inhabited places for a signaler to live at—like a hive or even just a work camp—they had to keep a hermit lifestyle and even fear that they would be attacked by a random predator!
Of course, the territories of the Bee Empire and the telepathic chains were well-guarded. I also made sure that my signalers worked in shifts, and these shifts were never longer than a month.
Still, this was a lonely existence, and as for monster attacks—you never knew, you just never knew. dical help was far away from these isolated bees, and so incidents *did* happen in the past.
Every signaler was proud to keep such a vital for the Empire’s functioning position, but that didn’t make less sad that it was necessary in the first place.
But now everything has changed.
Now *every* signaler could be placed in a permanent position inside a hive, where they could work in comfort and safety.
Of course, this was the first order I gave after Workharder told that the new signalers had finished their education and were ready to work.
This ant that the old signalers had to retire. However, since I had a month to prepare for this change, I made sure all signaler Beehounds will have new job positions.
There were plenty of them, after all.
The new armies of bees and humans needed short-range signalers on and off battlefields to coordinate their actions. The range of ‘Telepathy X’ covered these tasks perfectly.
The Beehounds who had spent months of their lives living like hermits between shifts of sitting in more populated places could be reintegrated into the society fully.
They t this fate with caution, but also so excitent for a new role. After all, I spun it as a more important one. Everything related to the military was extrely important, since a new crusade was on the way!
The new broods of Hardbees were outdoing themselves as well. Our manufactures worked harder than ever, producing machines of industry and weapons of war: guns, hamrs and spears.
Wielding those, invincible Beemarines started new crusades into the human territories absorbed by the Bee Empire. They purged them harder than ever, making sure that the next harvests of humans will be rich enough to make up for the last famines.
Things were going well (for everybody except the ruined Hatha Kingdom).
Even the Vardish Empire wasn’t pestering us, and all the evolved beasts that reappeared in our territories were easily and swiftly dealt with.
Five more months passed in rebuilding and preparations…
