Ren sat back slowly, trying to picture it.
Ervin gave a short laugh. "So, in simple words?"
Veylan's eyes glimred. "When mana touches the crack, it doesn't bounce back. It makes the boundary vibrate. And that vibration is what our machine catches."
Ren lowered his gaze for a mont, then nodded. "I understand. But where does this crack?"
Veylan shook his head lightly. "These cracks are found in one forbidden area. It will help you to find where a grand calamity will happen."
Ren frowned. " So according to that we have to find these convergence points."
Veylan leaned back, his eyes distant as if weighing years of research. "Yes, you are right. You have to find this after gaining all five keys. It will help us to find where the main grand calamity will happen. Yaah, we know where it will happen but sotis its positions suddenly change. So for exact information we have to asure this."
Ren's brow furrowed. "So the old records were wrong?"
Veylan shook his head. "Not wrong. Outdated. Dinsional cracks aren't fixed like landmarks. They shift. Think of it like a ripple on water. The ripple can appear in one place, but the next mont it drifts, fades, or reforms sowhere else. The old records captured the cracks as they were in that era. But over decades or centuries, the flows of mana and the balance of reality itself change, so the cracks no longer align with those ancient maps."
Lark crossed his arms. "So the cracks move… like storms across a sky."
"Exactly," Veylan replied. "We are chasing storms written in books, but by the ti we arrive, the storms have already passed."
Ren leaned back, trying to process. "So the cracks move like storms… then it makes sense."
Before Veylan could reply, Ervin tilted his head and asked, "But if cracks keep shifting, then why don't our dinsional pockets behave the sa way? The doors we carry or open, they stay fixed. Why is that different?"
Veylan's lips curved faintly, as if he had been waiting for soone to ask that. "Because dinsional pockets are artificial. They aren't born from the clash of realities. They are crafted and stabilized by anchors inscriptions, mana seals, and binding cores. Those anchors force the pocket's door to remain tied to its owner or location, keeping it from drifting. There are still so many mysteries that we have to find. We don't know how these five places made or appeared. Also, why do only these places have the exact doorway of that dinsion?"
He paused, then tapped the table with his finger. "Anyway, natural cracks have no such anchors. They form where the pressure between worlds grows unstable, and as soon as that pressure shifts, the crack shifts too. Our pockets are cages we built. The natural cracks are wild rivers breaking through stone."
Ren gave a slow nod, finally understanding. "So one is forced to stay. The other follows its own rules."
Veylan t his eyes. "Exactly."
Ren frowned. "Wait… According to your saying the ancient scriptures say there was once a tribe that created dinsions themselves. If that's true, then why would their locations shift? That sounds like the sa thing as our dinsional pockets. Isn't that contradictory?"
Veylan's expression grew thoughtful, almost grim. "It only sounds contradictory on the surface. The tribe did not create true dinsions. What they made were tethered realms half-real, half-borrowed. They carved out space by bending natural cracks, forcing them wider and stabilizing them with primitive anchors. For a ti, those places were steady… but they were never fully under control. The cracks they used still obeyed the laws of shifting convergence."
He leaned forward, his voice low. "Think of it this way. Our dinsional pockets are crafted from the inside out, using mana anchors as their foundation. But what that tribe did was the opposite: they built outward from a natural wound in reality. That made their realms powerful, but also unstable. When the convergence moved, their creations either collapsed or shifted with it. That's why the ancient records ntion places."
Ervin exhaled softly. "So they weren't doors of their own making. They were doors stolen from the cracks themselves."
Veylan nodded slowly. "Exactly. Borrowed doors. And borrowed doors never last forever."
Ren stayed silent for a mont, then asked quietly, "Then… is there a chance? Do any of those dinsions still exist?"
Veylan's gaze turned distant, as though he were staring through walls of ti. "That is the very important question so scientists spent half of their life chasing this dinsion concept. Before we found this book and scriptures we were already doing research on it. It's still ongoing. Even one and a half centuries ago. It's still ongoing and most of the ti it takes research in which I invested my money. We found ancient scriptures and books during the discovery of an underground city located on the southern iceland ring. According to it, it's highly chance that most of those realms collapsed centuries ago. So left behind nothing but unstable rifts, too dangerous to enter. But a few… a few may have survived, drifting with the convergence. They all were travellers and researchers of an ancient ti who were ntioned in that book. If they did, they are no longer where the scriptures first recorded them. Probably they were in that dinsion or they were not. Because years passed so they were no more."
He clenched his hand on the table. "That is why the soldiers failed. They searched in the whole world except for forbidden places, but the convergence has already existed in those places. Without precise mapping, it is like searching for a single grain of sand in a storm."
Lark frowned. "But if the convergence keeps shifting them, then how can anyone find them now? I an, those places are so big."
Veylan gave a bitter smile. "That is where the problem lies. Only those who understand both the old patterns of convergence and the new mana fluctuations can track their trail. Without that, every attempt is blind. Our ti and space mage is in coma. If he is present, then I do not have to worry about anything."
Ren lowered his gaze, voice quiet but firm. "Okay, I understand but how can I do it? I am not a great mage, not like a ti and space mage. How am I supposed to find sothing that has no clue? Sothing that shifts its position."
Veylan's lips curved into a faint smile. "Do you rember Arkenhall? When they collected a sample of your power?"
Ren's brow furrowed. "Yes."
"We studied it," Veylan said slowly. "And we found sothing. Your energy patterns are similar to our great ti and space mage. But there is a lot of difference… you both have different kinds of powers. Only this one thing we found similar in your entire powers. Tell , when you use your power and everything around you is devoured, do you know where it goes?"
Ren shook his head. "No. It just vanishes."
"Nothing vanishes," Veylan replied. "You know the law of the universe, energy cannot be created, and it cannot be destroyed. It only changes form, or moves. So when your power devours, it does not erase. It transfers. Most likely into another dinsion."
Ren's eyes widened slightly.
"That is how you will find it," Veylan said. "Machines can detect mana fluctuations, you can follow the trail of energy itself. If you train, if you sharpen this gift, you will be able to sense the dinsions directly… and open them like our great mage."
Ervin leaned forward, frowning slightly. "Okay, he can do that. But in my mind one question also raise. If that tribe really transferred into another dinsion, then why would they even do it? We can't achieve such a thing now, even with all our knowledge. How could an ancient tribe succeed where we failed?"
Veylan opened his mouth, but before he could speak, Kairn stepped in and bowed. "My lord, please take so rest. Allow to explain this part."
Veylan gave him a tired nod, and Kairn turned back to Ren and Lark.
"According to the ancient texts we've gathered," Kairn began, his voice steady, "the tribe was not experinting for power or curiosity. They were forced. Records describe a catastrophe, so say about a great disease that corrupted mana itself, So say that ti a great war happened, others say punishnt from the heavens. Whatever it was, their world was collapsing around them. They believed the only way to survive was to leave this plane entirely."
Ren frowned. "And they succeeded?"
Kairn inclined his head. "It is written that they discovered thods long lost to us. They had access to natural mana convergences far stronger than anything we know today, and so claim they had artifacts that do not exist in this age. Their thod was crude, costly, and dangerous, but it allowed them to tear a passage into another dinsion and take their people through."
