Two red tailed hawks flew above the fog covering the battlefield. From the eyes of the hawks, one could see tiny black things but the mont the hawks took a steep dive downward and broke through the layers of the fog, clanging of steel, cries of n and explosions filled the once peaceful atmosphere, which once had the soln howling of the wind.

"The wall holds!!"

Commanding General Alec bellowed at the top of his voice as he retrieved his spear in one swift, seamless motion and thrust it back out.

He could feel the spear's blade piercing into flesh, each ti he thrusted.

Boom! Boom!

Great sounds fell into his ears, a result of the forceful efforts of the barbarians to break the wall.

His soldiers feets shuffled on the soil as they struggled to hold the barbarians back while thrusting their spears.

This was a contest of strength. Alec had no idea how long had passed for he knew a minute was like an hour in intense battles like these.

Sweat poured down, soaking his n's inner wear. Their eyes glued to their target even as their veins bulged and their muscles pressed against the tal plates.

"Hold!"

Alec roared. Each ti he yelled, he could see so of his n who were slowly giving up reignite with strength.

Ordering, fighting, monitoring, thinking, all at the sa ti yet Alec's eyes remained calm and his moves in sync.

This formidable general had mastered a strange self taught technique of the six senses! He was able to do different things like separate a part to think, a part to fight, and a part to monitor his n!

Enos, riding to and fro at the periphery of his troop, noticed this.

'The strength of this troop is in their General. Humph!'

Black mist ca out of him and suddenly splitted, forming a man atop a horse with uncanny similarities to Enos.

They had the sa hair style, the sa posture and rode the sa horse. The difference was this figure was like the darkness of the night and his tattoos were glowing purple.

His khopesh was also purple.

Rumble! The shadow rider bore forth, racing through the battlefield, sotis making his mount jump over other barbarian riders and performing feats that were deed almost impossible for a veteran rider.

Dirt and dust rose in the shadow's wake.

Asher, along with Sapphira, Aquila and Lambert noticed the powerful rider heading for the wall.

Asher's eyes sharpened.

"It's Enos. His shadow is impervious to swords and any other sharp weapons we can think of and it's even physically stronger than Enos himself. I'm afraid General Alec can't win this battle."

Sapphira said urgently. Asher knew she wanted him to send her and the Temple Servants to the frontlines to offer aid.

But that would be foolish. The battle just began, throwing all his cards before giving Alec a chance would be unwise.

"Wait."

Asher said softly.

Although concerned the generals could only watch the shadow approach the wall.

While others spoke, Alec suddenly sighted a foreign figure made out of darkness itself heading his way.

"Earth mages!"

He roared.

The mages behind the archers began to mutter spells and as they slamd their staffs against the earth, a subtle ripple flowed outwardly.

In the next mont, over a hundred earthen spikes, hard enough to pierce through steel and a few inches taller than a full grown man shot out from the ground.

Dust rose and the great sounds and shouts ceased. The Grand Aegis soldiers looked from the gaps only to see the barbarians before them were all skewered to death!

Alec closed his eyes and breathed out but in that mont he heard the sound of a horse's hooves hitting the ground.

Swoosh!

A shadow rider burst out of the fog. Seeing this, Alec dashed forward, breaking the wall in the process but he didn't seem to care.

The shadow rider slashed his khopesh downward and Alec blocked it but the angular end of the khopesh hooked onto the shield and the shadow flung the shield into an unreachable distance.

Alec didn't hesitate to unleash a sweeping strike, so powerful that it slamd the horse to the ground!

Before the shadow could move, Alec was already above it. He lifted his spear up, about to plunge down.

Unfortunately, the shadow reached out for his ankle and tossed him into the distance.

Boom!

Alec crashed against an earthen spikes and fell on one knee.

With a single leap, the shadow was before him. His khopesh ca down, aiming to split Alec into two halves.

Grunting, Alec leaped to the side, thrusting his spear at the shadow's fourth rib at that very mont.

The impact made the shadow retreat. At the back of the army, Enos held his rib, grunting as blood stained his lips.

"That cursed knight!" He spat with bloodshot eyes.

Alec, seeing the shadow delay, rose to his feet, closing the gap but at that mont, the shadow as if waiting for him, spun, slamming a powerful punch against his face.

The power of the punch sent Alec to his knees yet with nothing but resilience he lifted his spear, blocking the khopesh.

Clang! Sparks flew as the two of them locked eyes.

"Argh!" Alec roared, pushing the shadow away. While he was breathing heavily, the shadow, still fit, closed the gap.

This ti around, Alec could feel the rumbling beneath his feet. Thousands of barbarians were coming, the second batch!

Knowing this, he grabbed the shadow's khopesh, grounding his teeth hard.

"Enos, co face yourself!"

He slamd his head against the shadow's forehead and it staggered backwards for a few tres before collapsing and dissolving into nothing.

On the other hand, Enos suddenly fell off his horse and his n ran toward him only to find his eyes were white and blood trickling down his nostrils.

He was unconscious!

"He survived!" Sapphira narrowed her eyes as she watched Alec pick his weapons and walk toward the wall while thousands of barbarian erged from the fog so ters behind him.

"The power of a half giant is not to be underestimated, Lady Sapphira."

"True." Aquila replied to Asher. "But if he doesn't get to the line fast, the barbarians would get to him and if the Grand Aegis move out to help their commander the wall will be destroyed."
