While all that went on, a certain young detective had evaded the grasp of several ghouls and made her way into the room where she believed so evidence would lie in wait.

However, her eyes were caught on the figure that hastily yet adeptly gathered papers, docunts, files and anything else they could pile together.

The brunette needed a second to even discern the form she looked at. In the room with various filing cabinets and an office desk. the figure’s back was turned away from her, compiling things on the desk.

A single thick braid cascaded down till her ankles where it was tied off smoothly with a red hair tie. Their hair was a shimring silver with lines of stark white streaks intertwining down the braid.

Multiple buckles went up till their knees, strapping their silver boots. Greyish trousers went the rest of the way up and they wore a particularly odd top.

Mainly due to the fact that the figure had four arms—an extra pair below the normal position of arms and they simultaneously all aided in the effort to gather everything onto the table.

The extra limbs had the sa peach complexion as the arms above. The top itself hugged tightly around the body and had two pairs of short sleeves to expose the muscular arms.

Within that couple of seconds of observation, Fuko still had a little shock. But she readied her dagger all the sa and stepped forth into shadow.

Hearing the shadows wisp, the figure’s head twisted to greet the intruder. The face of a woman with scarlet-red eyes and elegant features despite the scar going through her right eyebrow of silver—three black moles made a curve on her cheek right under her left eye.

Before the brunette’s shadows could engulf her small form, the silver-haired woman threw her right arms out- "Tuff!" Greyish-silver stone spawned above the wood flooring and spiked up to catch her foot.

"Dah-!" The shadows took her right as she tripped. "Woosh!" She appeared at the other side of the room. "Thud." And fell on the floor after bracing for impact.

As quickly as she fell, she opened her eyes and blinked up to her feet. She stood on the other side of the desk and reached her hand to grab any of the papers and files on the table.

"Tfff... BASH!" In an instant, the entire table and all its contents were swallowed in greyish-silver stone, like coating a cake with frosting; and then was jetted up into the ceiling with a pillar of stone under it as Fuko stumbled back.

The brunette groaned and looked around for anything else not encased in stone. Fortunately for her, a few papers were strewn about atop the cabinets and floors- "Ah!" "Woosh!"

"SLAM!!" She disappeared into shadow as stone piled up like dominos around the pillar and rose up into a wall that pushed towards Fuko and slamd against the wall.

The silver-haired woman shifted all four of her arms as her brows began to furrow and she snarled. Her scarlet eyes scanned and scanned. Her lower left arm jerked behind her- "Hak!" -and grabbed Fuko by the throat.

Having caught the brunette sneaking up on her, she brought her arm forward and squeezed, only to realize there was nothing to squeeze and wisps of purplish-black shadows was left in her palm.

On the other side of the ejected stone pillar, with shadows on her palms and feet, she climbed to the top where the desk was encased. She held her dagger in both hands and with gritted teeth forced the blade into the stone-coated files.

Through the magic and stone, the gleaming purple dagger shredded into- "Cockroach," the silver-haired woman growled up and stared daggers.

Stone erged from the pillar and bashed forth. "BUFF!" Fuko blinked away and landed on her feet on the opposite side of the woman.

"BUFF!" "TFF!" "CRASH!" "CLANG!" "SLAM!" Multiple limbs erged from the stone pillar, from the floor, from the walls, all aiming to bash into the quickly blinking brunette.

Fuko had less than a nanosecond each ti to peer the room and evade once more. The stone crushed the tal filing cabinets, crumbled by crashing into each other and clashed against the walls.

She could hear her heartbeats louder and louder; her body jittered from adrenaline as she kept her dagger held tight in her shaking hand—every ti she reappeared, she was panting.

Ghosts were charging leftwards out the door as Fuko’s head swivelled back and figured a way to see her opportunity. Stone slithered across the floor like a tsunami of gravel towards her. "Woosh!"

The brunette blinked towards the ceiling and chucked her gleaming dagger towards the face of the silver-haired woman with a huff.

At the sa ti, she took the thin ends of her dark purple scarf in each hand and pulled them forward; in a flourish, it extended into a hoodless cloak around her entire form.

"Tink!" A stone-like limb erged from the wall and blocked the dagger; however, the dagger stuck into it all the sa instead of bouncing off. As the woman retracted the stone, the pest she was hunting had disappeared.

Fuko held all sides of the wall with her rear end pressed up against the corner of the ceiling. Her eyes spotted the little hole she dug into the table against the ceiling before.

Forcing herself to stop breathing to not make a noise, she let go one of her shadowed hands off the wall and eyed the file with her palm open. She had a hardcover file in her grasp the next second-

"...BLOODY RAT!" The four-ard woman stood at the only exit in the room and noticed the brunette clung onto the ceiling corner like a spider.

Fuko blinked to the ground and hugged the file to her chest and with her open hand, warped the gleaming purple dagger on the ground into her hand.

The silver-haired woman’s stoic expression was all but gone and what was left—the wrinkled nose, the twitching lips baring her teeth, the furrowed brows and bloodshot eyes—could only be described as sheer anger.

While the chaos went on outside of ghastly noises, gunshots, yells and screams, the woman’s scarlet eyes flashed a greyish ripple that glead twice, just as Fuko was about to make her exit.

She stepped into shadow, but stone slid up the door and barred the exit without a seam. "Gng!?" Her spell stopped at her right at the stone-covered door.

"CRUSH!"

Fuko turned and blinked back to the back of the room. Where she stood was just a dent in the floor coated in stone. The woman’s lower left arm was now made up completely of greyish-silver stone that barely missed the end of her dark purple cloak.

The brunette took refuge behind the pillar and readied her dagger. As she peeked around, she watched the skin and face of the silver-haired woman disappear chunk by chunk.

Greyish-silver stone crawled up her skin from each hand and each foot. She appeared much larger in size and her body was covered in stone like an armoured golem of so sort—her eyes were not even visible.

For a mont, Fuko could only hear her own breath and heartbeat... Sweat went down the sides of her temples as her brown hair stuck to it. The bluish aura around her disappeared... Why was that?

No exit and this, this towering figure in the room... she felt a sense of overwhelming dread and held the file tighter. Less than a second to catch her breath, less than a second to think, less than a second to regret—what was even going on outside?

All this adrenaline hadn’t crashed quite yet and the panic poked the sides of her brain, asking her to let it in. Even her dagger that could cut through anything had to compete with the thickness of magical stone...

Everything felt slow—less than a second. All the red string connected to nothing in the room, it was a jumbled ss. Even so, in that split-second, she choked her breath down and ignored the panic.

"Woosh!" "BASH!"

It’s not like she even had the ti to think of much. The stone-woman crashed stone from left wall to right and right wall to left. Fuko blinked around the pillar and lined her dagger to the figure’s head.

"CRRR!" Before she could even properly aim, stone rose from the ground in the shape of a hand and grabbed her in its fist. Fuko flinched and blinked out before it could squeeze any further.

"CRR!" "PFF!" "GUFF!" Multiple arms erged from floor and wall alike, attempting to catch her. "NgyH!" Fuko was grabbed again and the stone from the fist crawled up and encased Fuko’s arm that hugged the folder.

With bubbled eyes, she felt the stone quickly wedging itself in between her arm and chest, like it was about to force her arm to snap outwards to get the file.

She winced and had an open eye to blink out and she rolled onto the floor. Her left arm was scratched and bleeding in tiny bits all over from the rough stone—she could feel the bruise forming on her whole forearm.

However, the file she held was completely missing. She turned to glance only to see the file attached to the wall in stone and another hand rushing for her.

She looked around for the various papers strewn about the room still. She blinked forth and warped a few into her grasp- "Kh!" She wasn’t fast enough to outdo the arms and was grabbed once more.

The papers she held was quickly covered in stone and taken away, leaving her to escape empty-handed. She tried again for the other few papers- "Hyuck! OWWW!"

"GFF!" "TUFF!" Stone rumbled throughout the room as the stone kept up with her and predicted where she’d show up next while the stone figure shifted her arms and stomped towards wherever she ended up.

In a quick sequence of events, every paper and docunt she got was taken away and each ti she felt another pain on her body. She blinked and appeared at the exit and felt her right side through her enchanted cloak, "Hh!"

There were definitely a few broken ribs as she panted. She held onto the dagger firmly as her eyes turned to the incoming fist of stone from the woman. She glared and blinked a couple of tres forward.

"CRASH!" That punch gave a hole to make her exit. "You make no fool of ," through the stone her voice was muffled, but it was low rumble, like every inch of stone in the room spoke with the sa vibration.

"Who the hell even are you!?" Fuko shouted and held her side. "A high ranking mber in the cult!?"

The stone-woman stopped... All the moving stone stopped and the sound of battle outside could be heard once more. "...mber? MBER?" the stone growled.

Fuko gripped her dagger tightly and took her chance to scan the room one last ti, for sothing, anything.

"You listen here you foolish, tiny, nuisance..."

The stone Fuko stood on quaked. She was ready to blink away at any given mont.

Spikes and rougher edges grew on the stone-like skin she wore and she grew to the size of the entire room. Her shadow consud Fuko’s view, "You have knowledge you should not... YOUR CORPSE WILL BE NOTHING BUT A STAIN!"

"DUFF!" "CRASH!" "GFFRRR!" Spikes jetted out from the ground and almost impaled the brunette. Fortunately, she blinked back and looked out the hole in the door- "AH!"

"BASH! CRUMBLE! CRASH!" She ducked her head down in ti and her eyes shut tightly as she felt stone slam into her back. Her body wobbled like jelly in the grasp of stone around her waist.

She was bashed into the exit and all the stone around the door broke. Her head bobbled back and forth as she caught a brief glimpse of the sh walkway and felt her consciousness fading. The stone fist threw her with all of its might towards the lower floor...
