Rhea wasn’t done yet.

Her amber eyes burned, the fire at her knuckles flaring hotter, casting jagged shadows across the writhing walls.

She lunged, her boots slamming the hardwood as she seized Tila’s wrist before she went into the floor, her grip iron-tight, yanking her back into the searing glow of her flas.

Tila’s shadowy form flickered, caught in the light, her sharp features twisting in shock.

"Not so fast Bitch!" Rhea roared, delivering another blazing punch to Tila’s jaw, the force snapping her head to the side. Tila’s other hand morphed into a jagged shadow blade, slashing at Rhea’s chest.

Rhea released her, twisting to dodge, the blade grazing her tank top, cutting through the fabric.

She retaliated with a blast of fire, the flas roaring toward Tila, but Tila dissolved into the shadows, her laughter taunting as she vanished.

"Co on, bitch!" Rhea yelled, spinning, her fire flaring brighter, her amber eyes darting for any sign of her foe. "You’re not getting away that easy!"

And once again the shadows circled around Rhea, trying to distract her.

"Tila, co out now, or your sister dies!" Outside, Kael’s voice bood, cutting through the house’s darkness. His tone was unyielding, a desperate bluff to draw her out.

Inside, Tila, perched above Rhea like a predatory specter, froze mid-strike, her shadow blade gleaming like a crescent moon, poised to impale.

Her eyes, wild with fury, flicked toward the sound of Kael’s voice, and in that split-second distraction, the shadows in the house collapsed inward with a guttural groan, then exploded outward like a tidal wave of ink, surging through the jagged hole in the wall toward Kael, Freya, and Lila.

The darkness enveloped them, forming a suffocating do that pulsed with malice, the air thick with the stench of ozone and burnt wood.

Tila’s voice echoed within, a frenzied chant dripping with venom: "I’ll tear you apart! I’ll paint the streets with your blood!" Her words were a banshee’s wail, vibrating the ground beneath their feet.

Freya reacted instantly, her blue eyes narrowing to slits as she thrust her hands upward, conjuring a thick do of ice around herself, Kael, and Lila.

The ice glead like polished diamond, its surface impervious to the shadows clawing at it with relentless fury, each strike a thunderous boom that sent tremors through the structure.

The do shuddered under a storm of invisible shadow blades, their impacts cracking the ice in jagged webs, forcing Freya to stagger, her jaw clenched as she poured every ounce of her power into reinforcing the barrier, frost spreading across her fingertips.

"She’s strong," Freya muttered, her breath visible in the cold. She spiked the do’s exterior with jagged icicles, hoping to deter Tila, but the shadows sliced through them, shaving the spikes to shards in seconds.

Rhea burst out of the house, her flas trailing like a cot, her amber eyes locking onto the shadow-wrapped ice do.

Without hesitation, she unleashed a torrent of flas, a controlled inferno that seared the shadows without touching the ice, burning them away like paper caught in a furnace.

The heat warped the air, the shadows hissing as they disintegrated, and Tila’s scream pierced the air, raw and furious, her form vanishing once more into the recoiling darkness.

The shadows regrouped, coalescing into a dark patch on the ground, speeding toward Rhea like a predator.

Rhea fired blasts of fla, each one scorching the earth, but the shadows scattered, darting around her attacks, then reford, closing in fast.

Rhea gritted her teeth, her fire flaring hotter, but Tila’s shadows were relentless, weaving through her defenses.

Kael, inside the ice do, gripped his baton, his hazel eyes urgent. "We have to help Rhea!" he said, his voice tight, glancing at Freya.

Freya nodded, her blue eyes steely, her face set with resolve.

"Stay with Lila. I’ve got her." With a sharp gesture, she shattered the ice do, the shards exploding outward like a crystalline supernova, scattering the shadows in a chaotic flurry. She sprinted toward Rhea, her boots pounding the pavent, then spun, raising another do to shield Kael and Lila, the ice snapping into place with a resonant chi that echoed in the chaos.

Freya reached Rhea, who was locked in a deadly dance with Tila’s ground-bound shadows.

The open street offered no walls for Tila to exploit, forcing her to attack from below.

Freya closed the distance, her boots pounding the pavent, her voice sharp.

"Rhea, jump!"

Rhea didn’t hesitate, launching skyward, her flas trailing like a rocket’s exhaust, her body a blazing silhouette against the noon sun.

Freya slamd her hands down, freezing the ground in a radiant burst of ice, the frost spreading like a shockwave, a crystalline tide that locked Tila’s shadows in a gleaming prison.

The ice crackled as it hardened, the shadows trapped within, motionless, their dark pulses stilled under the sun’s glare.

The frozen ground glead, a mirror under the noon sun, Tila’s shadows entombed.

Rhea landed, flas flickering, her chest heaving, sweat beading on her brow.

"Nice one, Freya" she panted, her amber eyes glinting with impatience. "Now how do we drag this bitch out?"

Freya shrugged, her blue eyes scanning the ice, her breath visible in the crisp air.

"She’s pinned for now, but—"

Crack!

A sharp crack cut her off, the frozen floor splintering like a gunshot, shadows slithering from the fissures like venomous serpents, their speed blinding.

They darted beneath Rhea and Freya’s legs, a dark torrent speeding toward Kael’s ice do.

Freya’s eyes widened, her hands snapping up to conjure ice walls blocking it’s path, their surfaces gleaming like polished steel, but the shadows surged with a maniac laugh, morphing into a spinning drill with an obsidian tip that shattered her barriers with a deafening crunch.

Ice shards scattered like shrapnel, and the shadows dove back into the earth, racing toward Kael and Lila with predatory intent.

"Damn it!" Rhea growled, her flas flaring as she thrust her hands behind her, using her fire like rocket thrusters to propel herself after the shadows.

Her body blazed across the street, a cot of fla closing the gap, her amber eyes locked on the dark streak, the heat of her flas scorching the pavent, leaving blackened trails.

She was inches from intercepting them when Tila erupted from the ground like a nightmare made flesh, her black hair whipping wildly, her psychotic grin a slash of sadistic glee.

"Knock Knock. Now you are DEAD!"
