Helen made a sound as her eyes widened in disbelief at what she had just seen.

She tightened her arms around her daughter, making sure that Emma didn’t see what had beco of her big sister.

The villagers looked away as they clenched their fists and held back their urge to make a sound.

anwhile, Harvard looked at the villagers in front of him one last ti before turning toward his captain.

But just before he could tell his captain to prepare for their departure, everything around him suddenly turned blurry, before pulling him out of his dream.

"Ughh..." Harvard groaned as he woke up with a violent lurch.

He placed one hand against the carriage wall while the other landed on his face as he tried to understand what was going on.

For a mont, Harvard didn’t know where he was, but it didn’t take long for him to register the cushion and the sll of wine in his wagon.

He swiftly recalled having a swig of his wine before falling asleep on the soft chair, then fragnts of his dream began to replay in his mind, starting from how he had arrived at the village to how a young Tauren girl had been killed.

Of course, Harvard felt no remorse for what he had done in the dream, because he definitely would have done it a hundred tis over in real life.

After all, if a re peasant thought they could trample all over his pride, then he was most certainly going to take action.

However, Harvard couldn’t help wondering why he had suddenly dread of Thornsville Village and everything that had happened in it.

It was one thing to dream about gold coins and won, but this dream was a silly dream about insignificant peasants not being able to pay their taxes.

On a normal day like today, there was no reason why he should be having dreams like this.

Yet, the dream felt so real and that really troubled Harvard as he glanced over at his red wine. "I really should stop drinking this junk before it does even more damage than the crazy dream I had today." Harvard blad the wine for the weird dream he’d just had, but then he placed his hand on his chest.

He found that his heart was hamring in a way he hadn’t felt in quite so ti. At least not since a physician had warned him about his diet.

But that was a long ti ago, so Harvard sat down and began to breathe in and out slowly, to make his heart beat gently.

He wiped his face with his handkerchief before looking out the window to see the forest, the narrow road, and the sa steep hillsides he’d noticed before he slept off.

"Huh? What the hell? So, we haven’t left the hillsides yet?" Harvard questioned before knocking on the carriage roof.

"Captain, give your report."

The captain didn’t respond to his call and Harvard’s brows furrowed to a frown, so he knocked harder. "Captain! I said, report! What is our position?"

He repeated himself, but then Harvard noticed sothing very important.

The carriage wasn’t moving.

He hadn’t noticed it until now and this unsettled him even more as he looked out the window again.

The road was completely empty and there was no guard around.

"Captain!!" He called louder as he reached for the carriage door but the mont he did, Harvard suddenly heard the sound of his n shouting and screaming so distance from where he was.

He could hear the sound of tal hitting tal and he swiftly recoiled from the door as his eyes widened in surprise.

’Are we under attack?’ He asked in his thoughts and wondered who would be dumb enough to attack his n.

’Could it be bandits?’

’But if they’re bandits, who sent them?’

’Could it be Lord Fluffybottom?’

’But I’ve told that geezer countless tis that I had nothing to do with the dungeon that got cleared in his region.’

’Would he really send rcenaries to co for my head just because of the dungeon?’ He wondered, when suddenly, he heard the sound of sothing heavy falling.

He also heard the high terrified scream of a horse along with the loud sound of tal hitting tal.

But what followed next were the sounds of n falling one after the other until only a few remained.

Another horse scread and the carriage rocked violently as sothing struck it from the front.

Harvard grabbed onto his seat with both hands while his wine cup rolled off it and onto the floor, spilling its contents across the carriage’s floor.

Harvard pressed himself to the window again but all he could see was the sa view as last ti, nothing.

It was just trees and the narrow road.

The idea of opening the window and poking his head out to have a better look did not cross his mind because he didn’t want to do anything stupid that would result in his head rolling to the floor.

But while he continued to stare out of the window, Harvard suddenly noticed sothing crossing the road.

Its movent was too fast to follow but he was certain that it had been a person.

It definitely had to be a male based on the brief feature he had noticed.

However, the mont the swift silhouette passed his range of view, a guard suddenly stumbled backwards with his hands at his throat.

Then another guard ca within his view before dropping to the ground where he stood.

"What the fuck is happening?"

"Are these really bandits or are they assassins?" Harvard pulled himself back from the window once he heard his Captain’s voice outside.

The bloke was shouting out commands but it didn’t last more than a second before the captain began making gurgling sounds, as though his throat had been sliced.
