Toughness, after all, can’t fill your stomach, right?
When Leo Keane found out that Adler Construction was partnering with him on the project, he was already unhappy. Now, if the lucrative interior decorations were given to Adler Construction, he would go crazy, wouldn’t he?
Raine Sinclair was quite satisfied with Leo Keane’s reaction and continued to smile, "Tell , what’s going on with you and Leon Grant?"
"..." Leo Keane clenched his fist and held back for a long ti, "Can’t I refuse to say?"
Raine Sinclair raised an eyebrow, thinking to herself that this guy was teasing her!
Just as she was about to speak harshly, Leo Keane hurriedly explained.
"Sis, please don’t get mad! Didn’t you say last ti not to ntion that na? I’m just going along with your wishes..."
Raine Sinclair frowned, realizing it was related to Jonas Hawthorne.
"He asked you to get close to Leon Grant?" she asked coldly, her gaze gradually darkening.
Leo Keane scratched his head, a bit troubled, "Originally, he didn’t want to tell you, but... whatever, I’ve said it now. Isn’t it that lately the Hawthorne Group has been in chaos because of your grandfather and brothers? He really couldn’t spare the ti, so he asked to find sothing for Leon to do, to keep him from circling around you all day."
Raine Sinclair, "..." Hmph, how considerate!
Seeing she hadn’t spoken and didn’t seem particularly angry, Leo Keane continued, "Besides, he told to keep an eye on Leon Grant and Lily Sinclair."
This imdiately made Raine Sinclair raise an eyebrow, "What do you an? What’s up with those two?"
"How would I know?" Leo Keane was so aggrieved he almost cried, "Sis, you know, he thinks fast and acts on a whim. I just follow orders and don’t know anything else!"
"Then what have you noticed?" Raine Sinclair asked again.
No wonder she hadn’t seen Leon Grant or Leo Keane lately; turns out Jonas Hawthorne had arranged everything.
This man, even after being unconscious for two days and tangled with the Hawthorne Group’s issues, can still manage to do these things?
Suddenly, she heard Leo Keane speak quietly, "That guy Leon Grant seems to be in a surprisingly good mood for so reason. I checked the Grant Group’s recent stock prices and news, and there haven’t been any fluctuations... Plus, he seems to be staring at a mask all the ti."
"A mask?" Raine Sinclair squinted, pressing further, "What mask?"
"A white princess mask? With a feather on it." Leo Keane had been hanging around Leon Grant lately, so he had naturally seen it.
He had asked Leon Grant about the origin of the mask, but that guy said nothing.
When Raine Sinclair heard this, her heart suddenly trembled, and a multitude of question marks appeared in her mind.
A white princess mask, and with a feather...
Isn’t that the one the masquerade ball organizers prepared for her last ti?
Except she had to rush to the hospital at the ti, so she had Lily Sinclair go in her place.
Could it be that Lily ran into Leon Grant and sothing happened between them?
Otherwise, why would that mask be with Leon Grant?
But Lily never ntioned anything about this afterwards...
Seeing Raine Sinclair silent, Leo Keane realized he couldn’t just keep getting questioned passively, so he decided to be proactive and took the opportunity to ask, "By the way, Sis, I heard that you and Lily... had a falling out?"
Leo Keane only learned later that Lily Sinclair had been conspiring with Candace Ford to harm Raine Sinclair.
When he found out, he ground his teeth and stomped his feet furiously!
It was infuriating and such a sha; how was he not there at the ti?
It would have been such a great show!
Missing it was truly a lifelong regret!
Now that the person involved was right in front of him, he had to ask!
Unfortunately, his question was too direct and unsurprisingly earned him a cold glare from Raine Sinclair.
"There for a good show involving ?"
"Uh... Sis, don’t be mad. I’m just concerned about you! You’re pregnant, so you really have to be careful and take care of yourself!" Noticing the situation wasn’t looking good, Leo Keane quickly said so nice things.
After all, he couldn’t afford to offend either Raine Sinclair or Jonas Hawthorne, this forr couple!
Raine Sinclair glanced at Leo Keane and suddenly changed the subject, "Tell everything you’ve discovered at Leon Grant’s place."
"Huh?" Leo Keane was taken aback, not quite understanding what she ant.
Raine Sinclair didn’t repeat herself but instead stared at him intently.
A minute later, Leo Keane realized she also wanted him to report any information he’d found.
"That doesn’t seem right, does it?"
"This stays between you and ," Raine Sinclair added.
Leo Keane understood then; she ant not to tell Jonas Hawthorne...
Seeing him still hesitant, Raine Sinclair said, "You’re in charge of the interior decorations."
"Really? That’s great! Don’t worry, Sis, I’ll notify you first about any news I get!"
Saying that, he sprinted off.
After Leo Keane left, Raine Sinclair fell into silence.
Since Jonas Hawthorne specifically arranged for Leo Keane to investigate Leon Grant and Lily Sinclair, he must have found sothing...
So, what happened between those two?
Leon Grant still has that princess mask?
As she dwelled on these matters, she lost track of ti.
By the ti she got to where she was supposed to et Cecilia Sullivan for lunch, she was late.
"If you weren’t pregnant, I’d make you drink three cups as punishnt today!" Cecilia Sullivan snorted; she hated waiting for people.
Raine Sinclair was the only exception to her rule.
Raine Sinclair quickly apologized with a smile, "Don’t be mad, Cecilia. What would you like to eat? It’s on !"
"Hmph, food won’t satisfy . Quick, tell , what’s really going on with you and Lily?" Cecilia Sullivan said as she moved closer to Raine Sinclair.
Raine Sinclair had only ntioned a few things to her. Since Cecilia knew she was soon returning ho, she hadn’t pursued it over email.
Now that she was finally back, and after seeing the huge negative news about the Sinclair Group, how could she not be curious?
Raine Sinclair’s face turned visibly darker when Cecilia brought it up.
But to satisfy Cecilia’s curiosity, she briefly recounted the whole incident.
Cecilia Sullivan nearly slamd her bowl in anger after hearing it all!
"Has that girl gone mad? You’re her real sister! Well, not biological, but still, such years of relationship! Why would she do this?"
"I don’t know either," Raine Sinclair sighed. She had reflected a lot the past few days, constantly wondering if she had done sothing wrong or sohow hurt Lily, leading her to act this way.
But no matter how much she thought, she couldn’t figure it out.
It was Cecilia Sullivan who enlightened her, "Hatred usually stems from money, power, or unrequited love. Lily doesn’t lack money, nor does she crave power, so... did she fall for soone she couldn’t have? And that person likes you?"
