Huo Zhao had been back in Yancheng for a few days and had even screened the people around Zhou Yi, but he had not found any clue about the mysterious person. It seed as if the opponent had anticipated everything and had covered their tracks perfectly.

Shi Lan had suggested that Huo Zhao focus on Qiao Yihan, but following him, Huo Zhao had noticed nothing unusual.

"If we can’t find anything, let’s put it aside for now. Maybe there are so aspects we’ve overlooked, let’s wait for so ti and then continue the investigation,"

"Yes," Huo Zhao conceded to Shi Lan.

"How is the little rascal doing now?"

"Fine." Just two words, without any emotion.

But in fact, he knew what Shi Lan truly ant to ask.

If he simply wanted to know how An Yang was doing, the boss could have directly contacted the little rascal without going through him.

"Also, I’m taking a half-month leave to retake so exams in Russia."

"Alright, I wish you everything smooth."

Last ti Huo Zhao was in Russia, an explosion had almost killed him, almost costing the little rascal his future. So, this ti, even if sothing really happened to him, it was very likely that the little rascal wouldn’t find out.

...

The next day, Huo Zhao went to Moscow alone. However, he hadn’t expected that at the training grounds, he would encounter two familiar faces.

That couple, who had once caused a scene at Mingliu and then fled to Southeast Asia. Unexpectedly, they now appeared in Moscow. Huo Zhao had followed these two before and knew that they were nothing but a pair of greedy swindlers.

Huo Zhao was in Moscow to take exams, while the presence of these two in a gathering of bodyguards certainly spelled trouble.

Perhaps, from an outsider’s perspective, he could solve the puzzle of Yancheng?

The identity of an international bodyguard isn’t employed by any country or company. Once they follow an employer who is involved in dirty dealings for the sake of high inco, their level of danger maxes out.

The purpose of these two being here was self-evident then.

Taking the opportunity, Huo Zhao followed the couple for a while, confird the hotel they checked into, and ensured they picked their "bodyguard" candidates. Fortunately, no one dared to take their orders, because by the rules of the trade, the "dirty work" in that place wasn’t worth the money if it ant not coming back.

Huo Zhao did not contact Shi Lan imdiately, but instead, followed the couple closely. In the middle of the night, he hid under the couple’s bed and overheard them discussing soone. Although they didn’t ntion any nas, Huo Zhao knew that they were talking about the person who had been causing trouble for Shi Lan behind the scenes.

The woman referred to this mysterious person as M.

"These well-trained bodyguards are trouble, with stringent conditions and lots of restrictions; don’t do this, don’t do that, you might as well hire a door god. I think we can’t find the person M wants here," the woman complained. "And to think, a woman with a husband of such stature, why must she get involved in such vicious and ruthless acts?"

"It’s all An Lan’s fault, that wench. Likes to ddle too much? Pushing for online real identities, she didn’t think about how many people’s cakes she moved, how much effort would be destroyed because of her," the man grunted angrily. "If not because of her, could we be holess and wander around?"

"Stop complaining and go to sleep. The sooner we find the person M wants, the sooner we deal with that little wench."

From the couple’s conversation, Huo Zhao gained important information.

The woman, with a high-status husband, stood against online real nas, and her na was related to M.

Huo Zhao pieced together the information and continued to follow the couple for two more days, but aside from that day’s conversation, there were no other developnts.

Latter-day, Huo Zhao returned to the exam hall for a three-day bodyguard examination.

Yet even he could be careless, as during the exam, the couple recognized him—not because his surveillance was discovered but because the person backing them had shown them Shi Lan’s bodyguard’s photo before they went out.

From the mont they saw Huo Zhao, the couple started to suspect that they were being followed.

Subsequently, the couple reached out to M.

"If we can’t deal with them dostically, could it be difficult abroad?" said the person on the other end emotionally, "An Lan has this bodyguard, truly an obstacle."

"We understand."

"Are you sure you’ve not exposed any clues?" M confird again.

"Rest assured, M. We’re extrely cautious in our actions. He couldn’t possibly know anything," the woman said confidently.

"I’ll give you one day."

Huo Zhao had never imagined that he, too, would beco the prey one day.

After leaving the examination hall, he returned to the hotel to wash up. However, his high sensitivity as a bodyguard told him that sothing about the atmosphere in the hallway was off. Thus, Huo Zhao hastened into the hotel, but the mont he entered, soone pressed sothing against his forehead. "Hey, buddy, you’re really out of luck."

The room was dark, and in the dim light, Huo Zhao could sense the other person’s towering presence.

"You’re violating international bodyguard regulations," Huo Zhao said calmly while adopting a defensive posture.

"Who will know once you’re dead?" The other man’s tone was one of absolute assurance. "Don’t move. Do you think your action is faster, or my gun is faster?"

Huo Zhao watched as the other man loaded his gun and pulled the trigger. At this critical mont, he whipped out the flashlight he carried and shone its brightest light into the man’s eyes. Taking advantage of the brief shock caused by the intense light, he kicked the gun out of the man’s hand. Huo Zhao rolled on the ground to grab the gun, and in response, the other man pulled out another weapon from his waist. Both n then pulled their triggers...

The gunshots shattered the hotel’s original tranquility.

Blood beca the most glaring sight of the night...

...

anwhile, in Japan, the scoundrel was fast asleep, but for so reason, he awoke startled by a nightmare.

It might have been because of the high stress he had been under recently; otherwise, he was usually carefree and seldom disturbed by nightmares.

The cramped pigsty was very quiet at the mont.

An Yang was sowhat restless, went to the restroom to wash his face, and when he returned, he received several ssages from Huo Zhao.

Huo Zhao: "Woman, M, husband holds a high position, stop online real-na, send to your sister."

Huo Zhao: "Take care of yourself."

Huo Zhao: "dw"

The scoundrel frowned at the last ssage. What did it an?

And why was he asked to forward it?

An Yang thought about it and tried calling Huo Zhao, but his phone was switched off.

"This guy, always being mysterious."

An Yang forwarded Huo Zhao’s ssage to Shi Lan, although he didn’t understand its aning.

After putting down his phone, he felt strange, inexplicably wanting to return to his country.

...

When Shi Lan saw the ssage the following morning,

the young lady imdiately knew what Huo Zhao ant. So, she tried calling Huo Zhao back, but his phone was off. Then, she called An Yang.

"Did Huo Zhao send anything else?"

"Sister, he sent them in the middle of the night, three ssages in total. I forwarded you the first one. The second one told to take care of myself, and the third one had two letters. I don’t really understand them," An Yang replied.

"Which two letters?" Shi Lan persisted.

"Sothing like dw. Sister, what is he trying to tell ? Poison only?" the scoundrel scratched his head.

Shi Lan’s eyes reddened as she hung up the phone.

Poison only, single-celled brain.
