After a brief rest, Isabella conjured two brightly colored cocktails from seemingly nowhere. She casually handed one to Daniel before taking a sip herself, enjoying the mont as though life were incredibly peaceful.
Daniel took the glass but did not drink imdiately. Instead, he asked, "Isabella, can you tell why you chose to stay here? I doubt it’s just for this lake."
Upon hearing Daniel’s question, Isabella simply smiled lightly.
"I admit, you’re a very clever man."
"In truth, it’s not that I wanted to stay here forever, but rather that I can’t continue moving forward."
With that, a trace of sorrow appeared between her brows.
"Perhaps you won’t believe it, but my strength as a Fake God is actually not very strong."
"If I were to keep going, I don’t think I could resist the corruption from desire."
Daniel nodded, understanding now why Isabella had chosen to remain here. Though she was a Fake God, her actual strength was quite weak. Staying here, instead of pushing forward, was the right decision.
"You must have so way to resist the corruption to co this far, right?" Daniel asked.
Isabella’s question didn’t catch Daniel off guard. He nodded and responded directly, "I do have a way to resist the corruption, but it’s not an easy task. That’s why I need you to give a reason to help you."
Daniel was not moved by Isabella’s beauty to feel sympathy for her; in fact, he only helped people when he felt the cost was justified. If there was no significant cost for him, he would offer his assistance. If there was a benefit, like Mist potentially becoming a god and rewarding him in return, he would certainly help. However, with Isabella, it seed there was no imdiate reason for him to assist.
Isabella, hearing Daniel’s answer, was slightly stunned. She had never expected Daniel to refuse her.
After a brief mont of silence, Isabella’s face lit up with an excited smile.
"I didn’t expect that! You’re the first man to ever refuse ."
"Since you’ve set conditions, then if you help this ti, next ti you face trouble, I’ll help you unconditionally."
"Does this condition satisfy you?"
Daniel’s expression remained calm as he replied, "Do you think you’ll be able to help ?"
Isabella furrowed her brow at his question.
After a mont of thought, she asked, "Are you saying that my Fake God level isn’t strong enough to help you?"
Daniel thought for a mont before activating his ntal Deduction and then nodded.
"Related to combat, you indeed wouldn’t be able to help, but I have a different question. Can you guarantee that you’d help with anything, no matter what it is?"
"From now until the future, anything."
Upon hearing this, Isabella’s face showed a slight hesitation. But just a mont later, she made up her mind.
"Alright, I agree."
Daniel nodded and then pulled a contract from his spatial backpack.
"Then, let’s sign a contract."
Though Isabella felt a slight discomfort in her heart, she had already agreed, so she did not reject the idea. Instead, she signed the contract with Daniel seriously.
After the contract was signed, Daniel raised his hand, and the next mont, the entire small lake vanished.
As his power increased, Daniel’s proficiency in using Myriad Worlds Mastery grew. Especially with the enhancent in his ability to corrupt planes, his control over them was now a hundred tis stronger.
For sothing as simple as a small lake, it didn’t take much ti before Daniel could obtain the highest-level permissions over it.
Daniel’s reasoning for this was simple: he wanted to claim the lake for himself. In the future, he could use it to cleanse souls if needed.
Seeing what Daniel had done, Mist couldn’t help but comnt, "Crossbridge, you really don’t let any opportunity slip by, do you?"
Daniel casually replied, "Oh, not at all. I’m just collecting so things nobody else wants."
After all, out of the three of them present, only Daniel had the ability to take the lake water with him. Leaving it behind would be a waste, as it was almost impossible for another Awakener to reach the fourth layer of the Desire Abyss.
Slowly, Daniel raised his hand again and placed a purification spell on Isabella.
The next mont, all the curses and corruption on Isabella’s body were completely purged.
Isabella had refrained from acting hastily earlier because she had been tainted by corruption. However, this type of corruption was nothing difficult for Daniel to remove.
On the other side, as the corruption was cleared from her, Isabella imdiately felt an unprecedented sense of relief.
After finishing this, Daniel used his mind power to scan the terrain of the fourth layer. Unlike the terrain of the other layers, the fourth layer clearly resembled a desert, but there were also many oases scattered throughout.
Whether in the desert or within the oases, there were many creatures. However, these creatures weren’t high-level, and they didn’t possess any aggression.
As for monsters above the Silver Rank, they were nowhere to be seen.
Why did the fourth layer of the Desire Abyss feel so safe? The previous layers had been fraught with danger, so why was this one different?
As Daniel and the others continued forward, he soon realized where the real danger of the fourth layer lay.
This danger didn’t stem from monsters, but rather from the environnt itself.
In the desert, apart from the oases, there were swamps as well!
These swamps harbored no creatures, but they emitted large amounts of toxic miasma. The strength of this miasma far exceeded what ordinary people could imagine. Just a single touch, and a demigod-level Awakener would instantly be reduced to ashes!
If one could figure out how to concentrate and purify this miasma, perhaps it could even harm Fake Gods or even Demigod Rank beings!
It was clear that, despite the apparent safety of the fourth layer, it was still very dangerous for demigods. A small mistake could cost soone their life.
