"Forget it, let Sophia do whatever she wants!"

Watching Sophia's retreating figure, Velen shook his head slightly, deciding to let the Tarot Order deal with her.

At that mont, Kelsey, who had been approaching from afar, glanced at Velen before silently following behind Sophia, his heart filled with caution as they left together.

Clearly, Sophia's act of pretending not to know Velen had misled Kelsey into believing that she and Velen had never interacted.

Watching the two leave, each preoccupied with their own thoughts, Velen remained indifferent.

For him, the main purpose of contacting Sophia had been the system's rewards. Whether she would be brainwashed by the Tarot Order and fully embrace their teachings was of no concern to him.

Just as he was about to turn and leave, Velen suddenly slapped his forehead.

"I think I forgot to explain the council and descent abilities to her."

"Next ti I see her, I'll ntion it."

Considering Sophia's tendency to overthink, Velen decided that staying away from her for a while might be a good idea.

In the City

Once Kelsey sensed that Velen had left the area, his face broke into a wide smile.

"Hmph, Velen, trying to compete with the Tarot Order for the Saintess? How laughable. The Saintess is already with us and has smoothly joined the Tarot Order!"

Standing beside him, Sophia saw the smug look on Kelsey's face and shook her head slightly. She couldn't help but internally scoff:

So this guy is a senior councilor of the Tarot Order? With skills like this? He was completely outmaneuvered by ntor and still thinks he's won without noticing a thing.

He even said he'd been waiting for here for a long ti. The Tarot Order isn't as impressive as ntor, who not only knew exactly when I'd arrive but also my precise location.

Judging from the behavior of both Velen and Kelsey, the difference in capability was clear. Becoming Velen's ntee felt like the best decision she had ever made.

anwhile

On his way to the capital of the planet, the most prosperous city, Velen glanced at the darkening sky and decided to rest for the night.

Looking around, he realized that in his haste to travel, he had ended up in a desolate wilderness.

"I should reach the capital tomorrow. Once there, I'll see if there's a trade guild offering interstellar travel. That should get back to Uranus Star."

Velen muttered to himself.

This planet was quite remote, and only its bustling capital city might have trade caravans capable of interstellar travel.

Not long after, Velen stood in a cave, satisfied as he admired the large bed he had constructed by stacking advanced mana stones.

Even when camping in the wilderness, as a true tycoon, he needed to maintain his image!

After arranging everything, Velen lay down on the glowing bed of advanced mana stones and fell into a deep, comfortable sleep.

In the Mountains

A plump, sinister-looking young man adjusted his luxurious clothing and angrily punched a tree trunk.

"Damn it, I've been searching all day and still haven't found a single powerful spellbeast!"

Beside him stood an emaciated old man with sharp eyes and a terrifying mana aura. He glanced at the young man with undisguised disdain but suppressed his emotions and said coldly:

"Lyla, if this doesn't work, let's head back."

If it weren't for the fact that this man was the youngest son of a count and that the count himself had given the order, the old man wouldn't have bothered protecting soone like him.

This young man, infamous for his indulgence in food, drink, and debauchery, was arrogant and tyrannical, frequently harassing won and even committing brazen robberies in broad daylight.

Were it not for his status, he would have died countless tis over.

"Who asked for your opinion?"

Lyla, already in a foul mood, glared coldly at the old man. "If it weren't for you, old geezer, I'd have found a powerful spellbeast by now. You're just a jinx!"

Hearing this, the old man's face twitched with anger, but he ultimately suppressed his fury.

If he killed Lyla here, he wouldn't be able to explain it to the count, and the count would never let him off the hook.

"A cave! Finally, a decent place to rest for the night."

"Bad luck today, but tomorrow I'll have those top-tier spellbeasts begging at my feet. I, Lyla, am destined for greatness! How dare anyone look down on ? I'll make them eat their words!"

Lyla sneered, feeling a bit better.

The old man following behind him rolled his eyes.

With your Apprentice Rank Level 5? If you really t a powerful spellbeast, you'd be running for your life. You only survive because of . Even if you bring back a spellbeast, who's going to respect you? It's just self-deception.

After venting internally, the old man followed Lyla to the cave.

As they neared it, Lyla's pupils suddenly shrank, his face filled with shock.

The old man noticed Lyla's reaction and curiously glanced inside the cave.

His eyelid twitched, and disbelief spread across his face.

Inside the cave, advanced mana stones were stacked like bricks, forming a bed that emitted a faint glow.

And lying on this extravagant bed was a young man, sound asleep!

Clearly, they had encountered soone who indulged in even greater extravagance than themselves.

"Tsk, tsk. I thought I was unmatched in flaunting wealth, but there's always soone better!"

Lyla felt as if his worldview had been shattered.

Advanced mana stones!

Even in the palace, they were incredibly rare and precious, locked away in vaults. Just seeing one was a privilege.

Yet here, soone had used them to build a bed!

Thinking about the rough terrain he had endured in the mountains recently, sleeping on hard, rocky ground, Lyla's anger grew.

"No way! I can't allow anyone to outdo in luxury!"

Hearing this, the old man's mouth twitched.

Luxury? Flaunting wealth? Of all things, you choose to compete on this? Can't you aim for sothing better?

"Old man, go kill him for ! That bed made of advanced mana stones is mine now!"

Lyla ordered with a wave of his hand.

The old man's expression turned grim.

"Lyla, anyone who can casually pile up so many advanced mana stones for a bed isn't an ordinary person. If we provoke him and his protector appears, things could get very troubleso…"

Before he could finish, Lyla interrupted angrily, "Why do you talk so much nonsense? You're scared of so nobody in the middle of nowhere? And you call talentless? You're the cowardly useless one!"

The old man's face darkened.

He was trying to protect Lyla. Given his confidence in his own strength, he could likely escape even if the person had a protector. But Lyla, with his ager abilities, wouldn't stand a chance.

Still, because of Lyla's status, the old man suppressed his frustration and said, "I don't sense any other presences here. This ans either the person has no protector or their protector is far stronger than ."

His intuition leaned toward the latter.

After all, even he couldn't casually produce so many advanced mana stones. If soone could sleep peacefully atop such a fortune, they must have absolute confidence in their safety.

"Old man, that's an order! Do it now!"

Growing more furious at the old man's hesitation, Lyla slapped him across the face.

While the slap was insignificant to the old man, it further fueled his cold resentnt.

Without another word, the old man charged toward Velen, mana swirling in his hands.

But just as he stepped into the cave, a flash of light sliced through the air.

In an instant, the sound of flesh being torn echoed.

Both the old man and Lyla were bisected by the blade light, blood splattering everywhere.

As their consciousness faded, they saw a figure appear before Velen.

The man wore golden battle armor, and the mana radiating from him distorted ti and space.

This was an awakener whose power was beyond comprehension—far more terrifying than even the most powerful count they had ever known.
