Lin Zhiyi didn’t imdiately answer Gong Chen’s question.
Instead, she thought for a mont before speaking.
“What about you? If Sang Ran hadn’t returned to the country, what were you planning to do?”
Gong Chen pressed his forehead against hers, his eyes filled with expression.
“You’ve learned to bait others.”
Lin Zhiyi pouted, “If you…”
“I want to be with you.”
Gong Chen fixed his gaze on Lin Zhiyi, cutting off her words.
Lin Zhiyi’s face turned a few shades redder, it was enough to know his feelings.
“Oh.”
“Nothing else to say?” Gong Chen countered.
“At the ti, I didn’t think too deeply, I just felt that perhaps you cared for just a little bit, and I should have a proper conversation with you, at least not in opposition.”
Lin Zhiyi explained sincerely.
Gong Chen’s brow relaxed, “From now on, we can always have a good talk.”

Gong Chen turned on his side and pulled the blanket over them both.

Seeing her relaxed expression, Lin Zhiyi understood she wasn’t forcing it.
Lin Zhiyi ca back to herself, “No wonder Chen Jin suddenly disappeared, turns out he went to Hai City.”
“Let’s not talk about that. I ca back this ti to resign from you, a classmate of mine wants to open an art restaurant, and I want to try it with her. I can’t spend my whole life babysitting for you, unless you and Third Young Master have another one.”
Liao Yi winked at Lin Zhiyi.
“You got addicted to babysitting.”
“Mainly because Third Young Master pays well, but seeing you and Chu Yin striving for your careers, I want to step out of my comfort zone and venture out, as long as I don’t have to go back to blind dating,” Liao Yi said.

Liao Yi is so young, she indeed should venture out for herself.

Just after saying that, Lin Zhiyi’s phone rang.
It was a designer from the studio.
With a smile on her face, Lin Zhiyi answered the call.
The next second, her smile froze.
“I’m coming over right now.”
Liao Yi noticed sothing was wrong and stood up, “What happened?”
“A worker fell off the scaffolding.”
After speaking, Lin Zhiyi turned around to instruct the maid to take good care of Xingxing.
Then she headed towards the door, putting on her clothes and changing shoes.
Liao Yi followed up, “I’ll go with you.”
Lin Zhiyi didn’t refuse.

Hospital.
Lin Zhiyi had just arrived outside the ergency room and hadn’t even spoken to the designer.
She was greeted by a splash of hot water.
Luckily, with the thick winter clothes, she wasn’t scalded.
Liao Yi scread, quickly pulling tissues from her bag to wipe the water off of Lin Zhiyi.
She touched the coat and felt the water temperature, it was still steaming.
Furious, she glared at the middle-aged woman who threw the water,
“What are you doing? How dare you throw hot water! What if soone gets hurt?”
“She deserves it! My husband ended up in the ergency room because of her!”
The middle-aged woman looked like a laborer.
Her skin was dark, a bit aged, but still spirited.
Her teeth were grit so hard when she spoke it seed she could eat soone alive.
Liao Yi countered, “It’s not like you haven’t been paid, on what grounds do you bla Zhiyi?”
“It was her! She insisted on overti, how could my husband fall otherwise? Our entire family depends on him for inco, what are we supposed to do now?”
With that, the woman sat on the ground, wailing and weeping.
People passing by heard her words and started pointing fingers at Lin Zhiyi.
So people were even readying their phones to record a video.
Lin Zhiyi hurried forward to calm her down.
“Big sister, please get up first, let’s discuss everything when your husband cos out.”
Who knew, the woman didn’t care and grabbed Lin Zhiyi’s collar.

The woman was very strong.
She held firmly onto Lin Zhiyi’s coat and sweater, her body leaning back slightly, as if she wanted to tear her clothes right off.
Their positions were incredibly awkward.
Especially Lin Zhiyi, she wore a short coat, and as it pulled, the hemline at her waist began moving up.
“Let go!”
Lin Zhiyi sensed the risk of exposure and couldn’t help but toughen her tone.
The woman cried even harder, “A total disregard for human life! If I let go, she’ll run away!”

A flash went through Lin Zhiyi’s mind, realizing sothing was not right.
Fortunately, at that mont, Liao Yi and the designer ca up to help.
The three of them barely managed to pull the woman away.
Lin Zhiyi quickly straightened her clothes, catching sight of several people lowering their phone caras, trying to capture her exposed mont.
She took a deep breath, trying not to lose her composure.
Turning to the designer, she asked, “What exactly happened? What overti?”
The designer looked troubled, “The background wall had delayed the work schedule, so we contacted the workers to see who’s willing to work overti. Her husband volunteered for overti, and we paid the team accordingly for overti, he was an experienced worker, how could we have known he would fall from three ters high today.”
“Wasn’t there supposed to be a safety harness?”
“He didn’t wear it,” the designer looked grim.
This raised another issue.
If workers ignore safety asures, they need reminding and warning.
But this happened when the designer went downstairs for coffee.
No supervisor, the owner not present, the worker slacked off.

The designer was certain, “No.”
That was strange.
An experienced worker in construction, their sense of safety shouldn’t be that weak.

At that mont, the ergency room door opened.
A doctor quickly ca out, his expression serious.
“I’m sorry, we did our best, but he hit his head and neck when he fell.”

All she could hear was the woman’s amplified crying.
“Husband, how could you just die like this? What will the child and I do now?”
The woman glanced sideways, her eyes fixed on Lin Zhiyi.
“I want you to pay with your life!”
With that, she lunged at Lin Zhiyi.
