Lin Zhiyi had Liao Yi use her skills to apply makeup on her.

Beautiful, yet not quite like her.

She used an ID photo app to take a photo, replacing the image on Liao Yi’s resu.

Sent it privately to the woman in charge of hiring.

In less than a day, Liao Yi received an interview opportunity.

She watched the ti, worried: "Isn’t it during tomorrow’s exhibition? Zhiyi, you must be careful."

"I will be careful."

...

The next day.

Lin Zhiyi rode in Gong Chen’s car to a location near the art museum.

Just as she was about to get out, the man beside her grabbed her wrist, his expression dark since they had left.

"Do you really have to go?"

Lin Zhiyi turned to look at him, her eyes full of determination.

She had been having nightmares, fully aware they were warning her of sothing.

With the incident involving Gong Chen before, she couldn’t just ignore it.

Yet she knew Gong Chen was worried about her.

She grasped his hand in return: "You be careful too."

Gong Chen knew her mind was set, no one could change it.

He brooded for a mont, then raised his hand to smooth her hair, pinning an ordinary hairpin to her head before letting her go.

Before getting out, Lin Zhiyi glanced at Gong Chen, how could the eminent Third Young Master have such a hurt expression?

So pitiful.

She paused, turned around, and kissed his lips once.

"I’m off."

Gong Chen reached out but caught nothing, though the corners of his mouth refused to stay down.

Turning around, he saw Chen Jin looking at him.

"What are you looking at?" Gong Chen pretended to adjust his suit.

"Third Young Master, manage your expressions a bit."

With that smile, people might think he was about to cut the ribbon for an art museum.

Too happy.

Gong Chen cleared his throat, responding with a grunt.

...

The art museum.

Lin Zhiyi and five other girls entered the museum from the west side door.

A stern-faced middle-aged woman greeted them, scrutinizing them with resus in hand.

Finally, she stopped in front of Lin Zhiyi.

"Liao Yi?"

Under her sharp gaze, Lin Zhiyi bit her lip and nodded.

"That’s ."

"Not a fresh graduate, I see."

While speaking, the woman’s gaze scanned Lin Zhiyi’s entire body, seemingly assessing sothing.

Lin Zhiyi explained: "No, I’m not, but I have work experience, so I wanted to give it a try."

The woman glanced over Lin Zhiyi’s pilling wool coat, finally fixing her gaze on her face.

"Fine, I’ll give you a chance. More people will co for interviews later, and ti is tight. Answer the questions you’re asked, don’t say more than necessary."

"Okay."

The group nodded.

The woman waved them forward.

Once they were well ahead, she took out her phone to send a voice ssage.

"A high-quality candidate has co, comnce the interview first."

Lin Zhiyi observed her surroundings as she walked.

Today, the whole museum was booked by the Bai Family for Bai Ruoshu’s exhibition.

On every floor, there were guards from the Bai Family.

Lin Zhiyi and the others moved under their watchful eyes, arriving at the sixth floor.

The other five girls whispered optimistically ahead.

"I heard that if you’re selected, after the internship period, you can work abroad."

"Yes, an older student from my departnt settled abroad through Miss Bai’s art gallery, truly impressive."

With the anticipation in their eyes, they were led into a room.

One wall was mirrored, the other displayed artworks.

The interviewer said, "The director hopes you can create a painting in a short ti to showcase yourselves. We’ll observe your styles to determine your suitability for the gallery."

The others began painting eagerly.

Lin Zhiyi held a paintbrush, observing her surroundings, sensing sothing was off.

Especially since she could see herself every ti she glanced up at the mirror.

Unease crept in.

But what was so frightening about her reflection?

Unless...

Lin Zhiyi rembered soone online ntioning double-sided mirrors.

She also recalled the eyes in the painting of Pure Heart.

Anxiety tightened her chest, and she unconsciously gripped the paintbrush harder, but released it deliberately the next second.

The paintbrush rolled several tis across the floor, bumping into the mirror.

Lin Zhiyi apologized, stood to pick up the brush.

The tip touched, and there was no seam between the reflection and the object, confirming it was a double-sided mirror.

She quickly returned to her seat and began sketching, her palms already sweaty with cold sweat.

Who was behind the double-sided mirror?

...

Downstairs.

Gong Chen and Sang Li put on the masks included with their invitations.

Each mask was different, ant to distinguish identities.

Gong Chen and Sang Li wore the highest-standard masks, but their identities were fake.

However, to match their assud identities, both abandoned their usual low-profile attire, dressing in a way that accentuated their affluence.

Upon entering the exhibition hall, their deanor attracted attention, drawing multiple curious glances.

On the balcony on the second floor, Bai Ruoshu stood beside Bai Zhengxian.

Bai Zhengxian assessed the two newcors: "Who are they?"

Bai Ruoshu glanced at their masks, then checked the tablet in her hand.

"One is the grandson of an overseas carpet tycoon, the other the son of a financier, wealthy playboys who have caused quite a stir abroad and were recently sent back ho to lie low. Having been cooped up, they’re looking for fun again."

"Start by giving them so benefits, and then we’ll deal with them when they’re ripe."

"Shall I arrange for them to go to the sixth floor? Have a few people prepare to serve them, collect so leverage, and start in about ten minutes." Bai Ruoshu arranged smoothly.

"Hmm."

Bai Zhengxian scanned the crowd below, suddenly spotting a familiar face.

He turned to Bai Ruoshu: "Did you invite Gong Yao?"

To assert his identity, Gong Yao wore a tailor-made ring his grandfather had custom-made for him.

A distinctive green, easily identifiable at a glance.

Bai Ruoshu remained nonchalant: "Gong Yao has evidence of inciting Ye Feifei to assassinate Lin Zhiyi, how could I not gather leverage against him too?"

Bai Zhengxian nodded.

"Act cautiously, everyone here today holds significant status within our circle. If we can bring them to our side, no matter how capable Gong Chen is, he would be powerless against such overwhelming numbers."

"Yes."

Bai Ruoshu donned a mask and headed downstairs to take Gong Yao away.

Little did they know their actions were all within Gong Chen and Sang Li’s view.

Sang Li withdrew his gaze: "It looks like Gong Yao is in trouble."

Gong Chen replied coldly: "It’s none of my business."

As soon as he finished speaking, a woman approached.

"You two are esteed guests, refreshnts are prepared on the sixth floor, where you can view so private collections, please."

Sang Li and Gong Chen exchanged glances and followed the woman to the sixth floor.

Thereafter, the two were led into separate rooms.

Upon entering, Gong Chen found the room had been pre-decorated.

The lighting was suggestive, an art chair was placed prominently in the center.

From the corner ca a rustling sound.

Gong Chen glanced over; it was a young and timid woman.

He paid no mind, heading straight for the decorative painting opposite the chair.

"Trying to fool with this? Seems the fad exhibition is nothing special after all."

"Boring, I’m leaving."

Gong Chen turned to leave.

The next second, the door opened again, revealing the woman from earlier.

"Sorry for the poor hospitality, please step aside."

Gong Chen chuckled coldly and exited.

Out of the corner of his eye, he saw the room Sang Li had entered.

Why hasn’t he co out yet?
