Chapter 6: Chapter 6 Not Over Yet Chapter 6: Chapter 6 Not Over Yet Last night?

Lin Zhiyi indeed said a lot.

She couldn’t bear to see Gong Chen suffering so much, so she complied.

At the height of passion, she endured the man’s almost torturous seduction and seriously spoke her heart.

At that ti, she thought, maybe Gong Chen wouldn’t rember tomorrow.

But she would rember everything at this mont; she had at least been that close to him.

“Third Young Master, I like you.”

“I’ve liked you for a long ti, from the day I entered the Gong Family when you helped out of a difficult situation, I’ve been secretly paying attention to you.”

“I know you won’t care about , but I… um… really…”

“Love you.”

When Lin Zhiyi entered the Gong Family at sixteen, she was dressed by Liu He like a foreign doll being presented as tribute.

Back then, Liu He didn’t understand the minimalist attire of a fine lady; she just wanted her daughter to enter the Gong Family looking beautiful.

But she beca the laughingstock of the Gong Family.

They said she was like a pheasant pretending to be a phoenix.

Liu He was timid and afraid, not even daring to retort to the servants.

Then, Gong Chen appeared.

With his tall figure, dressed in a black overcoat, he stood under the porch flicking the cigarette in his hand, exhaling a mist that shrouded his face, with snow softly falling behind him.

Dangerous and indifferent, yet irresistibly handso.

One look from him scared the servants into not daring to gossip any further.

That year he was twenty-three, having just graduated from university, he was already the fearso Third Young Master in Jing City.

He looked at her and said deeply, “Not bad.”

These two words, she rembered for a long ti.

So long that she could still sll his scent years later.

Later, they had chance encounters.

In the spring garden, when she dropped in class ranking, desperate enough to cry.

He leaned against the pavilion smoking, glanced at the problem she faced, and said, “It’s stupid. Give the pen.”

In the sumr pool, while learning to swim, she got a cramp.

He jumped into the pool to save her, scolding her for her lack of coordination.

On an autumn street, when she was harassed and couldn’t outrun them.

He got out of his car, wrapped her shoulder, and walked away.

Her love gathered cautiously through these sporadic seasonal encounters.

However…

Lin Zhiyi had also said these words in her past life.

Her heart was sincere and burning within his desires.

What she got in return was defamation and scorn.

And the tragic death of her daughter.

Since Gong Chen never cared about her love, why should she care?

Lin Zhiyi lowered her gaze, not daring to look at Gong Chen.

“You heard wrong, I didn’t say anything.”

“Not calling ‘little uncle’ anymore?”

“Little uncle.”

In an instant, the inside of the car seed to be coated with a layer of frost.

Lin Zhiyi looked at Gong Chen beside her, who was holding a cigarette between his fingers, fidgeting with it.

Their eyes t, and he promptly snapped the cigarette in half; tobacco floated down.

The warning was clear without being spoken.

Lin Zhiyi’s heart tightened, feeling utterly crushed.

“Pull over,” Gong Chen said coldly.

Chen Jin imdiately moved the car to the side.

They were still within the Gong Family’s domain; Gong Chen could stop wherever he wanted.

After the car stopped, Gong Chen glanced at Chen Jin, who wisely got out of the car without a second’s hesitation.

Lin Zhiyi also wanted to follow and get out, but her waist was suddenly tightened, and she was directly dragged over by Gong Chen.

“Thinking of reneging? Lin Zhiyi, I was only drugged, not dead.”

His voice was low, the tone not so much angry as it was mocking.

Lin Zhiyi struggled, gasping for breath under his threatening presence, teeth clenched.

But she was no match for him.

The hand she’d just lifted was caught from behind by him, pressed onto the leather seat—slightly indented, then wrapped tightly.

Their positions made Lin Zhiyi quite uncomfortable.

But the mont she moved, her body was constricted even tighter.

“Let go!”

However, the person behind her was as fervent as last night, radiating interest in everywhere.

Lin Zhiyi’s body collapsed under Gong Chen, forced to lie on the seat.

She was both ashad and irritated, her wrists caught in his single hand.

And his other hand lifted her hair, revealing the marks she had deliberately covered—marks he had left behind the night before.

Gong Chen stroked the marks with his fingertips, his voice cold and chilling as he said, “Since you’ve provoked , you can’t just let it go like that.”

He applied a bit more pressure with his fingertips, slowly moving down along her neck.

Down her spine, inch by inch, he stroked.

Lin Zhiyi bit her lip in humiliation, recalling the tornt she had endured in bed at the hands of Gong Chen over the past eight years in her previous life.

He was a businessman, the perfect beneficiary.

He didn’t love her, but that didn’t stop him from controlling her, possessing her.

As if she were a personal belonging.

Not loving, yet not letting go.

Thinking of this, Lin Zhiyi’s body uncontrollably shuddered as it had in her past life.

Gong Chen’s hand paused, dark tides swirling in his eyes; his interest vanished instantly, and he pushed her away.

Lin Zhiyi curled up, fighting hard to suppress her fear.

Gong Chen rolled down the car window, lit a cigarette, and smoked leisurely; the blood-red ring on his finger also emitted a bloodthirsty glow in the dark night.

His lips curved into a smile under the streetlight, exceptionally sinister, his gaze lazy as if a blunt knife were slicing through Lin Zhiyi’s skin.

The sll of tobacco spread inside the car; Lin Zhiyi gradually cald down and, clutching her clothes, sat up.

“How exactly can you let go?”

Gong Chen tilted his head slightly, exhaling a pale grey mist, casting a sidelong glance as if a wild beast awakening in the night.

The hand holding the cigarette caressed Lin Zhiyi’s cheek, his fingertips sliding from her forehead to her eyes, caressing the teardrop mole beneath her eye.

The dry, delicate touch, though comfortable, felt like a snake’s tongue licking her skin, making her breathing hitch.

Gong Chen looked down at her from above.

Her eyes were truly deceiving.

Last night they were filled with love, and when bullied to the extre, tears slid over the teardrop mole, wet and pitifully inviting.

Yet today she had denied him.

No matter.

He wasn’t a good person either.

The next second, Lin Zhiyi’s chin was seized by Gong Chen, forcing her to look up and et his gaze.

He stroked her dry lips, and the mostly burned cigarette was re milliters from scorching her neck.

And within his eyes lay an undeniable wickedness.

“Let you go? Lin Zhiyi, when you drugged , you should have known that this isn’t over yet.”

“…”

Lin Zhiyi choked, knowing that whatever she said now, Gong Chen would not believe her.

Instead, he would intensify the punishnt.

At this mont, Lin Zhiyi once again felt the gears of fate starting to turn.

Yet she had tried with all her might to escape.

Half an hour later.

Gong Chen’s car stopped, and outside the window was his private residence.

Lin Zhiyi got out of the car, not sure if it was the effect of the drugs or the emotional turmoil that made her stomach start to feel nauseous again.

She pressed on her stomach and turned to leave.

But she was pulled by Gong Chen towards the house.

Lin Zhiyi paused, then struggled imdiately, “Let go! What on earth are you trying to do?”

Gong Chen blocked her at the door, sneering, “Though you took contraception, drugs aren’t infallible. You’ll stay here for a month to make sure you’re not pregnant before you can leave, but if you are…”

His gaze was chilling, leaving no room for warmth.

Lin Zhiyi felt a twist of pain in her lower abdon, rembering the image of her daughter Xingxing dying in the hospital bed.

Her lips quivered, “And if I am? What then?”

“Get rid of it.”

Gong Chen’s tone was casual, as if discussing a trivial matter.

Only then did Lin Zhiyi realize how foolish she had been in her previous life, thinking that his marrying her was for the sake of their daughter.

It was her existence that burdened her daughter and made him displeased.

It turned out he had wanted to kill the child from the very beginning.

Lin Zhiyi felt a surge of revolt in her stomach, and her heart felt nauseated.

“Bleurgh…”
