Chapter 538: Chapter 538: More Peril Than Hope

Lin Zhiyi and Xingxing, along with Liao Yi, went straight to the first-class cabin under Sang Li’s arrangent.

She was just about to take Xingxing’s small backpack when her raised arm spasd in pain.

Then she collapsed to the ground.

Xingxing was startled and imdiately knelt down to support her.

“Aunt Chu! What’s wrong with you?”

The woman’s hat fell off her head, revealing a pale, sweat-drenched face.

It was Chu Yin.

Sang Li, who was on the phone, ended the call hastily.

“Do as I said.”

Without waiting for a response from the other end, he hung up and quickly picked up Chu Yin.

He then realized she was burning up.

Liao Yi, who ca to help, covered her mouth and pointed at the ground in horror.

“Blood.”

Sang Li looked at the bloodstains on the ground, his face tense, and gave a cold glance at the first-class flight attendant.

The flight attendant nodded, calmly pulled the curtain, and laid the seat flat.

Sang Li placed Chu Yin on the seat, her whole body trembling.

“I’ll go get the first-aid kit,” the flight attendant said before swiftly leaving.

Sang Li looked at Liao Yi: “Check her body.”

Liao Yi nodded and quickly unbuttoned Chu Yin’s coat.

Even her inner shirt was unbuttoned.

“There’s no bloodstain, nor are there any wounds.”

With his back to Chu Yin, Sang Li clenched his fist upon hearing Liao Yi’s answer.

The next second, disregarding propriety, he turned around to check for himself.

Chu Yin was wearing Lin Zhiyi’s entire outfit, a coffee-colored long coat paired with a denim shirt.

If there were bloodstains, the shirt would have been soaked long ago.

At the mont, Chu Yin’s exposed skin was an unhealthy pale.

Though thin, her figure was quite full.

The yellowish underwear barely concealing her, while cold sweat dripped with each breath.

Like a peeled lychee, glistening pale white.

But no matter how good her figure was, Sang Li didn’t look an extra glance.

“Turn her over.”

“Okay.”

Liao Yi nodded and imdiately went to pull Chu Yin.

Chu Yin was limp, like a lifeless drunk.

Liao Yi could only grit her teeth and use force, but Chu Yin frowned in pain.

Seeing this, Sang Li broke his own rule again and directly turned her over himself.

Pulled down the coat, the inner shirt was all stained red.

Liao Yi imdiately lifted the shirt, revealing a wound on her back, startling her.

“Who beat her up like this?”

Sang Li didn’t say a word, taking the dical kit from the flight attendant to attend to Chu Yin’s wounds.

As he approached, Chu Yin reacted strongly, murmuring so words in a daze.

“Don’t hit , don’t hit … I’ll pay…”

Liao Yi thought she was saying sothing important, leaned in to hear clearly.

But Sang Li’s action of disinfecting the wound interrupted her.

“Ah! It hurts!”

Chu Yin woke up from the pain.

She looked down at herself and imdiately reached to pull her shirt.

Sang Li pressed her shoulder: “Don’t move.”

The man’s hand was warm and dry, absorbing the heat from Chu Yin’s body, making her feel a lot more comfortable.

Chu Yin’s breath hitched, a sound escaping her lips.

They both froze for a mont, then she coughed, shifted the topic.

“Um… is Zhiyi gone? I didn’t get found out, right?”

“Zhiyi asked you to co?” Sang Li continued to deal with the wound, following her topic.

“Yeah, she transferred money to yesterday, told to wait for her in the airport bathroom.”

Chu Yin squeezed her fingers, gasping in pain, yet her face remained calm and indifferent.

She is an actress after all.

She can act the part.

But Sang Li saw through all this, and he slowed down his movents.

“Didn’t I just give you money? Used it all up? You still ca out to work like this.”

“Well, who would complain about too much money? Don’t worry, I didn’t overcharge your fiancée, I gave a fifty percent discount!”

Chu Yin laughed lightly.

The smile didn’t reach her eyes.

What kind of person can put a price on themselves so nonchalantly?

Sang Li increased the pressure, and she could no longer smile.

“Next ti you get so money, buy a set of underwear before you act wild. The suture at the back is coming undone.”

“…”

Chu Yin’s neck flushed red.

Liao Yi held Xingxing’s hand, watching the two exchange words, curious.

“Uh… Chu Yin, why are you injured like this?”

Chu Yin looked up: “An accident.”

Liao Yi: Do you think I’m blind?

She was about to ridicule, but noticed Chu Yin’s face wasn’t right.

Sang Li noticed it too.

Initially thought Chu Yin’s makeup was a bit thick today.

Didn’t expect it was to cover the bruises on her face.

Sang Li interrupted before Liao Yi could speak: “Let’s deal with the wounds first.”

Liao Yi stopped talking and stepped forward to help.

Xingxing sat aside, using her watch phone to talk to Lin Zhiyi.

“Xingxing, are you alright?”

“Mommy, I’m fine.”

“What about Uncle Sang and Aunt Chu?” Lin Zhiyi wanted to explain.

Xingxing glanced around, innocently said: “Uncle Sang is taking off Aunt Chu’s clothes. Should I call them?”

“No, no, Xingxing, sit sowhere you can’t see them, okay?”

“Okay. When they’re done, I’ll have Uncle Sang call you.”

“No rush, let them be busy, you have a nap, or find Aunt Liao.”

“Okay.”

Once Lin Zhiyi confird Xingxing and the others safely boarded the plane, she lowered her hat and walked out of the airport.

She was pondering how to find Gong Chen when the large screen nearby interrupted with breaking news.

“There’s been an accident on Shi Ji Bridge. All drivers, please detour to avoid traffic congestion.”

Upon hearing the report, Lin Zhiyi halted and turned to look at the screen.

The screen was showing clips uploaded by netizens.

Even though the wrecked car was obscured, Lin Zhiyi recognized it as the Gong Family’s car.

It was also the new car Gong Chen had been using recently.

With this in mind, Lin Zhiyi had already gotten into a taxi.

“To Shi Ji Bridge.”

The driver was taken aback: “Miss, the broadcast said Shi Ji Bridge is blocked, you can’t pass.”

Lin Zhiyi pulled out her phone and scanned to pay.

“I’ll give you a thousand, take near Shi Ji Bridge.”

Seeing the money co through, the driver nodded.

Reaching near Shi Ji Bridge, it was already surrounded tightly.

The accident scene was cordoned off, with traffic police and officers evacuating people and vehicles.

Lin Zhiyi pushed through repeatedly to get to the bridge’s edge.

People around were buzzing with conversation.

“I heard soone important fell down. The entire city’s rescue teams ca.”

“Have they found the person?”

“Four fell, only one has been found. Look! Over there by the riverbank under the bridge.”

The speaker pointed to the crowd below by the riverbank.

Lin Zhiyi tiptoed to peek down, seeing a man’s back among the officers and dical personnel.

She squeezed through the crowd and ran down the steps.

She slipped multiple tis but felt no pain, only hoping that silhouette was him.

Clenching her scraped palm, she finally reached the area beneath the bridge, and the person opposite slowly turned.

It was Gong Yao.

Lin Zhiyi’s mind went blank, buzzing filled her ears until she heard the voices from all around.

“I heard the missing person is Third Young Master.”

“There are undercurrents in the river; so many are searching, but probably no hope.”

No way!

Gong Chen was always cautious; he couldn’t have been unguarded against Gong Yao!

Unless…

Lin Zhiyi suddenly recalled how Gong Yao moved Gong Chen’s car as soon as he entered the Gong Group.

It was later that Gong Group arranged a new car.

The car…

Lin Zhiyi stared intently at Gong Yao, blood dripping from her hand.

She picked up a sharp stone from the ground and charged, only to have a hand cover her mouth from behind just as she broke through the crowd.
