After the police left, Zhang Shutong couldn’t wait to ask.

"Mom, what do you an by this?"

Bai Hui said coldly, "Is it hard to understand? Do you want to tell others that you refuse to admit guilt?"

Zhang Shutong retorted, "What cri could I have? Isn’t Chu Yin still alive? Besides, you are my mom, aren’t you supposed to help get off the hook?"

Bai Hui looked at her, nodding while suppressing her anger.

"Indeed, I should help you, which is why I’m here, isn’t it?"

For the first ti, Zhang Shutong felt her mother’s words were sowhat sarcastic.

"Mom, what do you plan to do?"

Bai Hui glanced at the lawyer.

The lawyer took out a ntal health assessnt report and an application for a ntal institution from the bag.

"Miss, since you were in an episode when you hard Chu Yin, President Bai, as your mother, is willing to assist the police by persuading you to plead guilty, and then voluntarily send you to a ntal institution for treatnt."

Zhang Shutong’s expression froze for a mont.

"Nonsense! I’m not sick! Why should I be locked up in a ntal institution?"

"Miss, people with ntal illness never think they’re sick," the lawyer said.

So, no matter what, Zhang Shutong couldn’t escape being labeled a ntal patient.

Zhang Shutong wasn’t foolish, she chuckled coldly.

"Mom, you’re not here to help ; you’re here to abandon ."

"If I were to abandon you, I wouldn’t have co at all," Bai Hui explained.

"No, you had to co, or else what if I reveal what you’ve done?" Zhang Shutong resignedly said.

"Zhang Shutong! Are you insane? Stop talking nonsense!"

"I just placed Chu Yin in a pit and poured a little water, intending to use the rain on the following days to slowly torture her. How could she nearly drown on a sunny day?"

When Zhang Shutong heard that Chu Yin was rescued, she was shocked.

This was impossible.

Unless Bai Hui had done sothing afterwards.

"Shut up," Bai Hui said viciously, "Don’t forget, I’m your mother. What good would it do you if sothing happens to ? Do you really expect the Zhang Family to save you?"

Hearing this, Zhang Shutong pursed her lips.

Indeed, the Zhang Family would never save her.

She could only rely on Bai Hui.

Compared to prison, going to a ntal institution was also an option.

Realizing Zhang Shutong was relenting, Bai Hui continued, "I’ll arrange for the ntal institution. You can live like you’re on vacation there, and when everyone forgets about this, I’ll bring you back. After all, by dostic law, ntal patients can’t be sentenced."

Upon hearing this, Zhang Shutong realized there was no better option.

She nodded and said, "Are you sure you can get out of the ntal institution?"

"Of course, why would I lie to you? You’re my daughter, and no matter what you do, I’ll help you."

"Alright, I agree with you."

In the end, Zhang Shutong chose to compromise.

Bai Hui nodded, stood up, and said, "Tell the police everything they need to know. I’ll arrange the rest."

"Mm."

After the conversation, Bai Hui left with the lawyer.

Once outside the room, Bai Hui said to the lawyer, "Make sure people are watching the ntal institution closely so she can’t get out. My daughter might really go insane, but she can never beco my weakness."

The lawyer was taken aback by Bai Hui’s ruthlessness but had no choice but to comply.

"President Bai, rest assured. The ntal institution I found for her is very strict; not even a mouse can get out."

"Mm."

Bai Hui turned to leave.

The lawyer stayed behind to accompany Zhang Shutong in pleading guilty and also signed the confession.

Everything was progressing according to Bai Hui’s plan until an unexpected obstacle appeared.

The police brought in a foreign woman.

She confessed everything.

"Miss Zhang paid to get close to Chu Yin."

"During her episode?" the police asked.

"What episode? She’s not sick. She was perfectly clear when arranging everything, even telling us which situations to watch out for."

The foreign woman was obviously unaware of Zhang Shutong’s plan to use ntal illness as an excuse and told everything, even providing evidence.

The police watched her speak non-stop, unexpectedly gaining extra evidence.

With Zhang Shutong’s confession and additional evidence, using ntal illness as an escape route beca impossible.

After everything ended, Zhang Shutong waited and waited but the police never ca.

Impatiently, she said, "Why haven’t they co to take ?"

The lawyer also found it odd since they had already completed the paperwork; there was no reason for the police to delay this long.

"Miss, I’ll go ask right now."

The lawyer stood up to open the door just as the police walked in.

They looked stern, taking out handcuffs.

"Miss Zhang, it seems you won’t be leaving."

"What do you an?" the lawyer said, "We’ve submitted all the paperwork, and Miss Zhang’s current condition is not suitable for staying here."

The police replied seriously, "The prerequisite is... Miss Zhang is indeed ill. We have found a witness to prove that Miss Zhang does not have a ntal illness. The proof you provided is from a foreign institution; while accepted internationally, there are discrepancies. If you continue to claim she has a ntal illness, a local evaluation will be necessary."

"What?" Zhang Shutong exclaid.

Having already confessed, there’s no way she could pass another ntal evaluation.

Fortunately, the lawyer remained calm, quickly saying, "Miss Zhang is normal now, but at the ti of the cri, it was during an episode."

The police seed to anticipate his argunt and imdiately responded, "We also have collaborating psychological experts, both dostically and internationally accredited, who are very professional. A test will reveal whether Miss Zhang was indeed in an episode when she kidnapped Miss Chu."

The lawyer pressed his lips tightly, "Miss Zhang now needs rest. Without family accompanint, you cannot conduct tests alone, or else the evidence would be invalid."

The police said, "Don’t worry, we’re the police. We’re more professional than you in this regard. We’ll notify her family."

With nothing left to say, the lawyer looked at Zhang Shutong and walked out.

Unwilling to give up, Zhang Shutong shouted, "Stop! You have to stay and help !"

But within a second, the police had restrained Zhang Shutong.

She finally began to panic, "My mom will save . She will save ."

...

The lawyer hurried to his car and imdiately dialed Bai Hui.

"President Bai, the police found a witness confirming that Miss Zhang has no ntal illness. They now require a reevaluation which she will definitely fail. What should we do?"

Bai Hui was silent for a mont.

"Prepare a statent for ."

"Regarding what?" the lawyer asked.

"My severance of the mother-daughter relationship with Zhang Shutong. From now on, Zhang Shutong will have no connection with the Zhang Family."

"..."

The lawyer stared ahead wide-eyed.

In a cold voice, Bai Hui said, "I must consider the bigger picture. Even if Shutong goes to prison, I will handle everything for her, but the scandal cannot affect ."

"Alright, I understand."

The lawyer took a deep breath and hung up the phone.

Two hours later, Zhang Shutong was kicked out of the Zhang Family.

People online cheered, saying Zhang Shutong got what she deserved.

Knowing this, Zhang Jia felt an inexplicable fear.

He couldn’t believe Bai Hui could be so ruthless.

He anxiously sought out Bai Hui.

"Mom, why? Surely there’s another way, right?"
