Gong Chen leaned against the car door, chuckling softly, "Because the police went to arrest Bai Hui."
Chu Yin was taken aback, looking at Sang Li and Gong Chen with confusion.
"What you see here is only the first phase of the project. Besides Sang Li, Bai Hui has the largest stake. If sothing happened to Chu Yin here, and it was related to Sang Li, Bai Hui would certainly try to blow it up, and in the end, she could easily take over the big project," Gong Chen explained.
"So going to her place to arrest soone is the best move. Besides, Chu Wu will definitely protect herself at a critical mont," Sang Li replied.
Chu Yin nodded and leaned back against the chair to relax.
Out of the corner of her eye, she saw that Sang Li’s shirt was soaked in blood.
"Why is there so much blood? Let’s go to the hospital."
"I’m fine."
Sang Li tugged at his coat.
Chu Yin was so anxious she could hardly stay still, but before she could stand, she slumped back down again.
Lin Zhiyi looked at the two, "Both of you, go to the hospital. Chu Yin looks like she just ca out of the mud."
...
Hospital.
After the check-up, neither of them had any issues.
Just as Sang Li finished getting bandaged, news of Chu Wu being arrested from the Zhang Family aired online.
The image was clear enough that Chu Yin could see the slap marks on Chu Wu’s face.
There was no need to guess; it was obvious that Sang Li had prepared for this.
Gong Chen put down his phone and said, "The Zhang Family’s long-standing reputation is probably set to settle the score with Bai Hui now. She’s overwheld."
Chu Yin sighed, "So we’ve solved one major problem, haven’t we?"
"At least for the ti being," Lin Zhiyi comforted.
Chu Yin stared at the image of Chu Wu on her phone, "What will happen to her?"
Lin Zhiyi was about to speak when Chu Yin’s phone rang.
The caller ID displayed Mrs. Chu.
Chu Yin took a deep breath and answered the call.
Mrs. Chu anxiously asked, "Chu Yin, is that Chu Wu online really your sister?"
"Yes."
"How did she get arrested for kidnapping? What exactly is going on?" Mrs. Chu asked.
"She kidnapped ."
Chu Yin’s voice was calm, as if she were deliberately questioning.
There was a pause on the other side of the phone.
"Ah Yin, go tell the police you’re fine and that this is all a misunderstanding. Your sister is still young; how can she go to jail?"
"I almost died because of her. If I let her off easily this ti, she’ll still find ways to target in the future," Chu Yin retorted.
"Ah Yin, but you’re fine now, aren’t you? If we have a daughter in jail, where will your father and I put our faces? How will we face relatives and friends in the future? You must forgive your sister."
Upon hearing this, the room fell silent.
Lin Zhiyi was about to comfort her when Sang Li grabbed her and shook his head.
Chu Yin hesitated for a few seconds, then resolutely said, "No way, she should have gone in a long ti ago. Haven’t you ever thought about whether you were wrong too? Even after being caught by the police, she doesn’t think she’s done anything wrong. Today it’s , tomorrow it could be soone else."
"Chu Yin! Please, won’t you? Your father is sick, and if your sister goes in, what are we supposed to do? Do you want to drive us to our deaths?" Mrs. Chu cried.
"You don’t even realize your own mistakes. Isn’t what you’re doing driving to my death? Would you only be satisfied if both your daughters were ruined? Don’t call again. Spend that ti finding a better lawyer for your younger daughter."
After speaking, Chu Yin hung up the phone.
Lin Zhiyi pondered, then turned around to hug Gong Chen.
"Let’s go out and give Chu Yin so space."
What Chu Yin needed now was Sang Li, not them.
In the end, only Chu Yin and Sang Li were left in the ward.
Sang Li sat beside her, pulling her into his arms from behind.
"It’s alright now. I’ll be with you."
"Don’t worry, I’m really fine. I’m just a bit emotional."
Chu Yin leaned on his shoulder, playing with his fingers.
Sang Li let her play with his fingers, calmly saying, "Do you have ti to have a al at my place?"
Chu Yin was stunned for a mont, then sat up straight and looked at him.
"This... didn’t we just get together?"
Sang Li looked at her, "I’m not forcing you, take your ti."
Chu Yin was a bit shy, "Will your dad accept ?"
"You’ve t my dad before," Sang Li replied.
Chu Yin pouted, "You an when I accompanied you to cancel the engagent? I was so nervous; I even spilled wine on him. He won’t dislike because of that, right?"
Sang Li suddenly laughed.
"My dad was indeed impressed, but when I told him about us, he wasn’t surprised at all."
"Not surprised?" Chu Yin was taken aback.
"My dad could see I was different around you. I just didn’t want to admit it at first."
"Well, now you’re in trouble, stuck with ." Chu Yin poked Sang Li’s chest.
Sang Li grabbed her hand and then kissed it.
"You must hold on tight."
"So cheesy."
Even Chu Yin, an actress, couldn’t take it.
Sang Li laughed too; it was indeed a bit cheesy.
"Do you feel better now?"
"I’m really okay. I just don’t want to keep living in this vortex; I want to live my own life," Chu Yin said frankly.
"You’ve worked hard, you can do it."
"Yes."
Chu Yin leaned on Sang Li, calculating her bank account.
Looks like she’ll need to prepare money for another house.
One in Jing City, another in Hai City, only then can she feel secure.
While they were being affectionate, a call ca from the police station.
Chu Wu wanted to see Chu Yin.
Chu Yin didn’t want to et, but since Bai Hui was involved in this, she had to cooperate with the investigation.
Sang Li helped her out of bed, advising, "Although this issue involves Bai Hui, your relationship with Chu Wu is quite special. Just your testimonies can’t catch Bai Hui."
Chu Yin frowned, "I suspect Chu Wu doesn’t have direct evidence either, or she wouldn’t have agreed to let record a video accusing Bai Hui before her death after I persuaded her."
She looked at Sang Li and asked, "Mr. Sang, are you saying this because you want to tell sothing?"
Sang Li said, "So people need to be dealt with one by one."
Chu Yin paused, "Are you suggesting I give up accusing Bai Hui and directly accuse Chu Wu?"
"Yes," Sang Li explained, "this way, Chu Wu as the mastermind would have no room for escape, and Bai Hui wouldn’t be able to use Chu Wu to harm you again."
Sang Li was right.
They had previously analyzed that soone like Chu Wu wouldn’t stop until she was dead.
At least if she’s imprisoned, she still has a chance to live, and Chu Yin wouldn’t have to bear the psychological burden.
Chu Yin nodded, "I understand."
...
Police Station.
As Chu Yin and her group approached the police station, they saw Bai Hui walking out with a lawyer.
Bai Hui looked indifferent and said calmly, "Mr. Sang."
Sang Li’s expression turned cold and he did not respond to her.
Bai Hui spoke, "Mr. Sang, I hope there are no misunderstandings between us. Chu Wu is just a madman; her words can’t be trusted. Even the police don’t believe her, so I suggest Chu Yin refrain from speaking recklessly. After all, she’s a public figure and should avoid unnecessary trouble."
Chu Yin initially didn’t want a direct confrontation with Bai Hui.
But seeing her arrogant deanor, Chu Yin couldn’t swallow her pride.
Chu Yin t Bai Hui’s gaze, deliberately saying, "I’m afraid Mr. Bai will be happy in vain. Although my sister wanted to kill , we’re still blood sisters. When faced with danger, especially a common enemy, do you think she’d side with or you?"
Saying that, Chu Yin headed towards the interrogation room.
A few steps later, she deliberately turned back.
"Oh, by the way, my sister said she hid so evidence overseas to secure a good life there."
