After exchanging a few quips, Gong Chen and Sang Li got down to business.
Gong Chen said, "The person you ntioned indeed attracted quite a few companies, and many of these companies are your arch rivals."
Business always has its adversaries.
Though interests may barely keep the veneer of peace.
But once bigger interests appear, you never know at whom those sharp arrows will be aid.
Sang Li already could make a few guesses.
In recent years, he had been close with Gong Chen, and these people never dared make any decisions.
Now that Gong Chen had faked his death and left the Gong Family, these people probably couldn’t wait any longer.
Gong Chen continued, "There’s also sothing interesting."
Sang Li looked at Gong Chen, feeling that the next words were of true significance.
"What is it?"
"You ntioned before that Sister ng has ties in Hai City. Since you were being watched and couldn’t investigate deeply, I did it for you. You’ll be very surprised who Sister ng ca to see in Hai City."
With that, Gong Chen tapped open a photo on his phone.
Sang Li stared at the photo in astonishnt.
"It’s actually her?"
"Yes, exactly her. So I speculate Sister ng is soone she arranged by Chu Yin’s side. She knows about Chu Yin’s existence, both of you need to be careful," Gong Chen reminded.
Sang Li hadn’t expected that person to have started planning so early.
"Third Young Master, thank you."
"I just don’t want Zhiyi to worry, and I don’t want you to end up lonely. Your sister saved ; if you’re doing well, she would know in the afterlife."
When it ca to Sang Ran, Gong Chen and Sang Li had already co to terms.
Back in the living room, a few individuals were already chatting openly.
Sang Li suggested going to a restaurant for dinner, and the group got up to go downstairs.
While putting on her shoes, Chu Yin realized she had forgotten her phone.
Nowadays, phones were too nurous — a work phone and a personal phone.
Her personal phone had eavesdropping software installed on it,
so Sang Li got her a new phone.
It was now the one she was using.
Chu Yin turned back to her room and found Sang Li, who had just entered the study, standing on the balcony smoking.
He had been smoking quite frequently lately.
Was he encountering so troubles?
Could it be because of her?
Chu Yin wanted to ask directly but just as Sang Li answered a call, she could only retreat from the study.
Holding her phone, she waited for a while at the entryway.
Sang Li hung up and ca over.
"Why didn’t you go down?"
"I was waiting for you," Chu Yin simply said.
"Is there sothing?" Sang Li asked, glancing at her.
After hesitating for a few seconds, Chu Yin asked, "Have I made things difficult for you?"
Sang Li pressed the elevator button.
"Don’t overthink. I just have a lot of work."
"I’ll handle other matters myself. You focus on work," Chu Yin said.
"Chu Yin..."
"That’s it."
Chu Yin briskly walked into the elevator without saying another word.
Until they both exited the elevator, there were two empty spaces between them.
Sang Li sighed.
This scene fell right into Xu Huihui’s eyes.
A colleague said, "That group earlier seed pretty close with this woman. It looks like this woman isn’t related to Mr. Sang at all."
Another colleague said, "Even if not, it doesn’t matter — just look at the distance between them and their actions. Clearly, they were arguing."
Xu Huihui stopped them, "Don’t talk nonsense."
But she stared at the departing silhouettes, a smile lurking in her eyes.
...
After dining at the restaurant, night had fallen.
Lin Zhiyi and Gong Chen took Qi Rong straight back to the hotel to rest.
Chu Yin followed Sang Li back, not speaking the whole way.
In fact, during dinner, Lin Zhiyi realized there was a delicate atmosphere between the two, so she intentionally sent ssages to Zhou Zhao, Chen Jin, and Gong Chen.
She asked them to get Sang Li to drink a bit more.
Naturally, when soone drinks too much, so words co easier.
After Zhou Zhao dropped the two off, he handed Sang Li over to Chu Yin right in the parking lot.
"I need to work overti, so I’ll leave the Young Master to you."
Chu Yin supported Sang Li, surprised, "When did you beco so trusting of ? Aren’t you afraid I’ll do sothing reckless?"
"The Young Master is drunk, not dead, so what could you do at will? And here’s a fact: if a man is truly drunk, no one, not even a god, could get him up." Zhou Zhao replied.
"You’re very experienced. Does Chen Jin know?"
"If you keep talking nonsense, I might sleep here tonight. I have a room here anyway." Zhou Zhao answered.
"Hurry up, leave quickly."
Chu Yin supported Sang Li, not looking back as she left.
Upon reaching the lobby, Xu Huihui spotted the drunken Sang Li.
She hurried over to help, almost pushing Chu Yin aside.
"Mr. Sang, are you alright? Let help you upstairs."
Xu Huihui didn’t give Chu Yin a chance to speak, directly taking Sang Li into the elevator.
Chu Yin looked at Xu Huihui, then at Sang Li.
If Sang Li weren’t truly drunk, he would just reject Xu Huihui’s help.
Since there was no protest, it was assud as consent — what could she say?
Chu Yin lowered her hat’s brim and followed the two into the elevator.
After entering the apartnt, Xu Huihui adeptly opened the shoe cabinet and took out Sang Li’s slippers.
Chu Yin was stupefied.
She couldn’t even tell which pair were Sang Li’s acquiescence.
Sang Li wasn’t strict about the little things in life; comfort was all that mattered.
Thus, the slippers were divided by gender — one brown, one white.
Similar pairs were kept together, and Chu Yin couldn’t distinguish them at all.
It was only when she looked at the position of Sang Li’s shoes before going out that she confird Xu Huihui chose Sang Li’s slippers.
Was it a coincidence?
After changing her shoes, Xu Huihui supported Sang Li and turned to address Chu Yin.
"You sit down first, I’ll make you so tea."
"..."
Chu Yin stood at the entryway, a bit at a loss.
She felt entirely like an outsider.
A few seconds later, she quickly stepped into the apartnt.
Originally wanting to help.
She saw Xu Huihui help Sang Li onto the sofa, then skillfully take out a thin blanket from the nearby cabinet.
"Drinking too much requires preventing chills. I’ll make so sober soup."
Xu Huihui turned to pour a cup of water for Chu Yin.
"You have so water, I’ll get busy now."
"..."
Chu Yin pursed her lips, watching Xu Huihui go into the kitchen, seeing her surprisingly familiar deanor in Sang Li’s place.
Seed like it wasn’t her first ti here.
Sang Li lay on the sofa with one foot curled up, looking half-drunk and half-awake.
A slipper was right by the sofa.
Chu Yin kicked it underneath the sofa with her foot.
"Mr. Sang, enjoy slowly — I won’t disturb you."
She turned around to leave.
Suddenly, a hand appeared at her waist, pulling her over.
Chu Yin couldn’t keep her balance and fell onto Sang Li.
Sang Li pinned her firmly, not allowing her to move.
"What are you doing? Your housekeeper Xu is still here?"
"Weren’t you saying you don’t want to manage you?" Sang Li countered, "Now, what’s this?"
"I... Then let’s not interfere with each other. Let go."
"Chu Yin, I noticed you especially like flirting without taking responsibility." Sang Li narrowed his eyes.
"That’s not true! Clearly, you... um."
Chu Yin’s head was pressed down by Sang Li’s hand.
She widened her eyes at the man in front of her.
He was usually a very restrained and courteous person. How could he possibly do such a thing with soone around?
The sounds of cooking ca from the kitchen; Chu Yin nervously clutched tightly onto Sang Li’s shirt.
Until she found it hard to breathe.
Sang Li slowly loosened his grip, speaking with thick alcohol breath, "Do you still want to sever ties?"
