"BOOM!!"

The giant, like a kite with its string cut, fell from the high platform. His shoulder brushed against the smooth ground, emitting a sharp scraping sound as he tumbled several tis before finally coming to a complete stop.

He lay on the ground, looking bewilderedly at his own fist.

He didn’t an to hit the face; the boss doesn’t like it.

It was the carotid artery in the neck he hit.

Why didn’t the boss dodge?

Pondering led to no answers.

Without thinking, he got up from the ground, dusted off his clothing, and walked to the side. He picked up a glass water bottle, small like a toy, pried off the tal cap with his bare hands, and gulped down several mouthfuls until the flow of water abruptly stopped.

He shook the bottle up and down; not a drop was left. He then effortlessly twisted open another bottle, his indifferent gaze slightly unfocused.

So thirsty.

Next ti I’ll go out and crush a few dogs from the X organization for fun.

...

The size difference was too great, making the scene sowhat shocking.

To Xu Si, it felt like the whole world had gone mad.

Yet the people from the Triad Society around her were all calm, as if this was normal for them.

Hei Shi stood beside her. Noticing the shock in her eyes and, for the sake of his sworn brothers, he quietly offered an explanation,

"Big Sister, this wasn’t a sneak attack. In the rules of the Octagonal Cage, as long as you haven’t surrendered or died, you always have a chance to rise and strike back."

Xu Si nodded.

Her lips were still tightly pursed, showing no sign of easing.

This was not what shocked her.

What shocked her was that Pei Zhen was actually able to defeat such a colossal being.

It’s important to know that the giants of the Triad Society were not clumsy. Their strength was imnse, and their speed was surprising. Perhaps it was because of the elixir, but they hardly had any weaknesses in combat.

If even the giants were like this...

She suddenly began to understand what the man in the floral shirt ant when he said there was a drug that could turn a genius into a god.

Pei Zhen no longer seed entirely human.

What about the side effects?

Such a heaven-defying item, how could it not have terrifying side effects?

What exactly were they? Besides the uncontrollably violent temper, what else was there?

She didn’t know.

She could only watch Pei Zhen from a distance as he stepped down from the Octagonal Cage, passed by the n in black, and walked up to her. He bent down, his smoky-grey eyes staring unblinkingly at her.

With a hoarse voice, he said,

"Xu Si, you’re late. I got hit; it hurts a lot."

After saying that, Pei Zhen raised his robust right hand. It bore a ring of purple bruising—a trace left by the giant’s punch that had struck him, looking very painful.

A faint scent of flowers inexplicably wafted through the air. It was elegant in tone but intense in fragrance.

Xu Si ca back to her senses. Her gaze shifted to the bruise on his arm and to his entire deanor—intentionally acting weak but actually strong and cunning. She ultimately softened.

How could she not?

His enchanting eyes looked down.

Even if it was pretense, it was still pitiable.

"Sorry, I lost track of ti during the eting,"

Xu Si responded, reaching out to touch around the bruise with her fingertips, her eyebrows slightly furrowed.

Once again, she extended her hand to him.

"Does it hurt? Let’s go. Co with , and I’ll apply so dicine for you."

Pei Zhen looked at her eyes, clear as a tranquil lake and brimming with heartfelt concern for him.

Contentedly, he curved his lips into a slight smile and followed behind her.

This world was still too cold.

He really wanted to keep her with him forever, even if it ant by deception.

...

On the way, Pei Zhen fully draped his clothes over himself. This hid the ghastly tattoos on his back and the healing wound on his chest, as if concealing the evil he brought from the Underground City.

He led Xu Si to his room and opened the door.

Xu Si walked in and surveyed the room.

It was what you’d expect from a hotel, suggesting he really didn’t co to Hong Kong Island often, not even having a temporary residence.

The only thing out of the ordinary was the long gun on his table. It was a model she had seen before; during the Sanlian Chamber of Comrce banquet, he had stood at the edge of the ship’s deck, pointing that sa long gun at her forehead.

TSK.

Her mouth twitched. She turned around, then paused, montarily stunned.
