Chapter 394: Chapter 394 Zhan Lan, you’ve grown capable, plotting to murder your own husband, huh!

The fragrance on Zhan Lan lingered around Mu Yan, the tingling sensation combined with the intense emotional rush softened Mu Yan’s heart into a puddle.

Zhan Lan had never said these words to him before. Once, he thought Zhan Lan married him rely calculating the pros and cons—a transaction, nothing more.

But now, he was certain of Zhan Lan’s true feelings. His Lan’er had taken the initiative to confess her love for him.

Mu Yan recalled how Zhan Lan once said she didn’t believe in love, preferring to offer her body first, rather than her heart. Yet now, she was willing to offer her heart.

For Mu Yan, this was far more exhilarating than any physical pleasure he had ever experienced.

He and Lan’er were now of one heart and mind, and this was the most beautiful thing in the world.

“Lan’er…” Mu Yan pressed Zhan Lan down onto the soft couch, his burning gaze moving downward from her eyes, resting upon her lips.

The scorching and fervent breath enveloped Zhan Lan, instantly stealing her ability to breathe.

Mu Yan grasped her waist tightly, the faint scent of wine and his familiar cold, alluring fragrance surrounded her completely.

Unable to restrain himself, Mu Yan ignited sparks along the nape of her neck and her collarbone.

Zhan Lan gasped urgently, her moist gaze and bitten lower lip making her seem irresistibly fragile like a kitten, her entire being inflad by Mu Yan.

A mont later, Mu Yan tempered the desire in his eyes, released her, and said, “I suddenly rembered sothing I need to attend to.”

After speaking, Mu Yan withdrew completely, leaving behind Zhan Lan disheveled upon the couch.

This had never happened before, and Zhan Lan was stunned, wondering to herself: What urgent matter could he possibly need to deal with?

She watched Mu Yan stride toward the study, her curiosity compelling her to follow and peer at him through the crack of the door. Mu Yan was grinding ink and writing sothing with great focus.

Only monts ago, she had been utterly consud by the heat he stirred within her, yet now he had retreated to attend to other matters.

Zhan Lan lay restless in bed, unable to fall asleep, knowing that Mu Yan was still in the study.

She tiptoed once again to the door and called out softly, “Should I go to sleep first?”

Mu Yan nodded lightly, “Alright.”

Zhan Lan turned to leave but noticed sothing peculiar—Mu Yan seed to be repeatedly writing the sa thing.

His ears were still red, as though he was holding sothing back, or perhaps anticipating sothing…

Zhan Lan approached him and saw that the sheets of paper on the desk were all inscribed with the words “Zhan Lan.”

Mu Yan raised his eyes, which shimred faintly with stars of longing, quickening Zhan Lan’s heartbeat.

“I want to confirm calmly if what you said earlier was really what I heard,” Mu Yan said, staring deeply into her eyes. “I want to test sothing—if I push you away, would you willingly co back to my side?”

Mu Yan’s cautious deanor made Zhan Lan’s heart quiver with tenderness, unable to bear it.

She walked over and naturally settled herself on Mu Yan’s lap, wrapping her arms around his neck, her gaze eting his as she said, “Mu Yan, I like you. I’ve never been more certain of my feelings than now. I like you…”

Mu Yan’s body trembled slightly. At this mont, you understand my defiance, and I understand your feigned restraint.

Zhan Lan, with fumbling hands, loosened his belt, leaning close to his ear and whispered softly, “Tonight, let the master take the lead. Does the disciple agree?”

At her words, filled with delicate allure, Mu Yan’s blood instantly ignited and surged.

Zhan Lan’s hand slipped into his robes, and Mu Yan’s body tensed, his breathing growing erratic.

Her soft hand traced down from his Adam’s apple, wandering over his chest, stomach, and further down, rendering Mu Yan’s mind blank.

He had never imagined that Zhan Lan’s initiative would leave him entirely defenseless, his body seemingly about to combust.

Zhan Lan’s hand caressed downward over his waist, her voice lting as she murmured by his ear, “Prince, tonight, let take charge. What do you say?”

Mu Yan’s taut hand gripped her waist, letting out a low groan from his throat. Desire consud his rationality as his voice, hoarse and dark, murmured by her ear, “Alright, Lan’er, no taking back your word.”

He stood up, lifting Zhan Lan onto the desk. Zhan Lan’s legs instinctively wrapped around his waist, her voice tempting and feverish, teasing, “Let’s see who surrenders first…”

Mu Yan’s breaths grew heavier. His gaze, predatory and burning, locked onto Zhan Lan as he bit her earlobe and said, “You’ve gotten bold. Don’t beg for rcy later…”

In the night where Zhan Lan took the initiative, her soft, breathy voice begging him to slow down was t with Mu Yan’s chest filled with a roaring, unleashed beast, tearing apart his last shred of rationality.

Outside the window, the night rain pelted the banana trees relentlessly, their sound blending into the symphony of passion within the room—known only to the two souls who joined that night with an intensity unequaled before.

In the late hours of the night, the rain continued to fall. Mu Yan held the sweat-drenched Zhan Lan in his arms, her cheeks flushed, her captivating gaze brewing an irresistible allure.

Mu Yan’s throat moved as his chest rose and fell. By her ear, he asked, “Do you want more?”

Zhan Lan had, by now, truly witnessed the wild side of Mu Yan.

“No more,” Zhan Lan’s voice was hoarse as she buried herself in his chest, her cheeks red.

Mu Yan chuckled and teased, “Who was it that challenged to ten rounds a night?”

Zhan Lan covered his lips with her hand, “Don’t talk nonsense. I never said that.”

Mu Yan smirked devilishly, “You didn’t say it, but you did it!”

Zhan Lan, embarrassed, covered Mu Yan’s face with the blanket. Monts later, afraid he might suffocate, she pulled it away. Mu Yan took deep breaths before gripping her waist and said, “Zhan Lan, you’ve grown bold—attempting to murder your husband!”

His lips curved mischievously as he leaned forward, “Let’s continue…”

Zhan Lan pushed him away; after a night of frenzy, she truly couldn’t withstand any more. In a low voice, she murmured, “Don’t you have court tomorrow?”

Mu Yan locked his gaze on Zhan Lan’s slightly swollen lips and said, “No. With rain this heavy, what’s the point of court?”

Zhan Lan pinched his earlobe and said, “Alright, stop fooling around. After a night of heavy rain, what if there’s a disaster? Tomorrow, I’ll need to inspect the territories. You should head to the outer city and check on the people—help them out.”

Mu Yan turned over and lay beside her, saying, “If you ever beco Empress, you’d undoubtedly be the perfect Empress who rules with grace and dignity.”

The word “Empress” caught Zhan Lan off guard. After her rebirth, it had been a long ti since anyone associated her with that title.

Hearing it now from Mu Yan’s lips, her expression suddenly changed.

In her past life, she truly had been a good Empress. The people had honored her as Zhan Huang.

She had been loyal to the country, loyal to Si Jun—but never loyal to herself!

Mu Yan’s slender fingers stroked her silky hair as he continued, “Throughout history, incapable rulers have always blad the downfall of their kingdoms on ‘Red Face Calamities.’ Had those rulers focused their hearts on their states and devoted themselves to governance, how would they have ended up with their lives wasted, their nas erased, and their dynasties replaced?”

He gazed deeply into Zhan Lan’s eyes and said, “Lan’er, with you by my side, I could never beco such a man. What you’ve envisioned has already been done. My n prepared everything before the rains even began.” Mu Yan whispered by her ear.

Zhan Lan was deeply moved by Mu Yan’s words, realizing he had anticipated everything long ago. If he willed it, he would undoubtedly be a great Emperor in the future.

Zhan Lan glanced upwards at Mu Yan, whose eyes brimd with dominance and determination as he stared at her. “Lan’er, next, I will help you take back the Si Family’s kingdom step by step. Are you ready… to rise to the pinnacle with ?”

Zhan Lan curled her lips into a smile, her voice firm and resolute, “With pleasure!”
