"Heartless?" Alia Wright laughed coldly. "Do you want to beg for no divorce in tears?"

Hailey Smith paused, unable to imagine such a scene.

Though this divorce was proposed by the Young Master, he just felt the Young Madam was too heartless, unaware of the trendous pressure the Young Master endured for her.

But the matters between the Young Master and Young Madam were not sothing he could interfere in.

Alia did not continue the topic. No one knew who was more heartless, nor did anyone know if the one pushing others away felt greater pain.

Emotions are the most untouchable things in this world.

Lowering his head, Hailey felt a bit pitiful and said, "Miss Wright, your hand injury, my brother says it needs treatnt."

Thinking about it, Hailey felt even worse. It was the Young Master who wanted to care about Young Madam’s injury, but he didn’t dare to show his concern openly.

Alia looked at the wound in her palm and nodded, not refusing. She couldn’t go to the hospital, but the injury indeed needed so treatnt.

Emily Allen also needed a thorough check-up. The child’s exposed arm had quite a number of bruises, unsure if there were other issues.

Basil Smith was already waiting with the first aid kit.

When he saw the wound on Young Madam’s palm, he was also sowhat shocked.

Such a severe injury pierced through the palm, yet she acted as if nothing happened, which reminded Basil of Young Madam’s decisiveness when she unhesitatingly cut her palm in the hospital.

After stitching and bandaging, Alia’s expression remained unchanged throughout.

Basil felt the Young Madam was really like the Young Master, no wonder a man as distant from won as the Young Master would have feelings for her.

Once bandaged up, Alia withdrew her left hand and asked Basil to check on Emily.

After checking, Basil kept frowning.

Alia’s heart tightened, "What’s wrong? Is there sothing serious?"

Basil said solemnly, "Besides the external injuries, the child suffers from long-term malnutrition and mild autism."

Alia’s face darkened slightly; Emily’s condition mirrored her past life. It seed Alma already tornted Emily to this extent years ago.

Alia took a deep breath and asked, "So what should I do?"

"His condition is not very severe, just imrsed in his own world and unwilling to communicate, requiring family cooperation for guidance, and it’s best to take him to the hospital regularly for psychological therapy."

After Basil spoke, he rembered Young Madam couldn’t go to the hospital.

He continued, "Miss Wright, if you can’t go to the hospital, you can bring him regularly to the Imperial Garden, and I can do the psychological therapy."

Alia neither agreed nor refused.

She didn’t want further entanglents with the Imperial Garden, but Emily’s illness had to be treated.

Emily, already more sensitive than his peers, seed to realize he was a burden after hearing this and slightly lowered his head.

Alia gently ruffled Emily’s hair and softly said, "Let’s go ho."

Emily continued to keep his head down, his small hand tightly grasping Alia’s, as if holding on to the last straw.

Alia took Emily away without looking back at Godfery Shaw.

She had too much to do, too many vendettas to settle. She wasn’t sure if this body would still have cancer like in her past life, unsure how much ti she had, hence needing to hurry.

After Alia left, Godfery went to her room on the second floor.

Once it was his room, he had tried everything to give it to Alia.

After Alia left, no one except Godfery could enter this room.

Godfery sat alone in the room all night, allowing the pain and endurance to tear him apart. When morning ca and he stepped out of the room, he was once again the intimidating Young Master of the Shaw family.

...

Alia returned with Emily to her little haven at No. 32 in the old district.

After the kidnapping and constant tension, Alia felt she needed to rest.

She made a simple al.

At night, in the small bed, one big and one small curled up together, leaning on each other as if abandoned by the world, relying on each other.

Familiar nightmares, intensely restless struggles.

Alia’s every sleep was like a torture.

At dawn, Alia awoke from a nightmare.

Her expression was bleak and suddenly realized sothing.

It seed only when she was near Godfery or sowhere with his presence that she could sleep peacefully.

But she... couldn’t get close to Godfery anymore.

Alia rubbed her forehead to clear her mind, realizing there’s no one beside her.

Where’s Emily?

Alia hurriedly got out of bed to search.

She hadn’t cared for children before, actually not knowing how to take care of them, or how to interact.

Rushing out of the room, she saw the small table in the kitchen, holding white porridge.

The child was standing on a stool, skillfully frying eggs.

The porridge was cooked perfectly, and the eggs were fried beautifully.

A child of four or five years, exactly how much suffering has he been through to do these things?

Emily served the eggs, obediently pushing one plate towards Alia.

The child’s understanding was heart-wrenching.

Alia’s nightmare-torn heart felt a sliver of warmth like fireflies.

Reborn, she rarely liked having outsiders around her, but because of a child, she felt less lonely.

But she couldn’t be selfish.

"Emily, I’m actually your aunt." Alia seriously said, "Your father is a particularly good person; he will treat you well and can give you the best life. Do you want to live with him?"

If Emily returned to the Allen family, he’d be the young master of the Allens, with kind parents and siblings ensuring a good future, which was better than staying with her.

Emily, holding the porridge, suddenly put it down.

He looked up at Alia with overly sad black eyes.

In a childlike voice, he asked, "Am I not good enough? I’m sick and a burden; you don’t want anymore?"

Alia felt a deep ache in her heart as she pulled the child onto her lap and softly said, "Emily is great, not troubleso at all. I’m just asking for your opinion. If you want to stay with , I’ll never abandon you."

Alia sensed the fear and anxiety she used to have in this child.

As a child, she thought she was abandoned by her parents, always fearful of being cast out by the Wright family, living carefully.

Emily was equally afraid, afraid of not being needed, afraid of being abandoned.

Alright, let this child stay by her side, if... if sothing happens to her in the future, she’d send Emily back to the Allen family.

"Then I’ll rely on Emily’s care from now on." Alia gently said.

Emily looked up, seeming to feel needed, his bright eyes gazing at Alia and asked, "Forever?"

"Yes, forever until death."

Emily smiled.

It was a childlike, pure smile.

...

After breakfast, Alia and Emily.

Soone knocked on the door loudly.

Alia raised an eyebrow slightly, wondering who would knock at her door, as not many knew where she lived.

Opening the door, she found Ava Wright in a miserable state.

Ava’s face was bruised, she limped as she walked, and her clothes were torn to shreds, those ambiguous marks on her body clearly indicating what had happened.

Seeing Alia unhard, Ava’s suppressed anger and jealousy finally exploded completely.

"Alia! It was you... you had that disgusting man harm , didn’t you!"
