Basil Smith followed without hesitation.

Because he knew that more important than the distance covered, the cooperation of the second young master was essential.

On their way back, they indeed saw the road signs blocking the way and the obstacles that had been moved aside.

Nancy Allen rubbed her temples, feeling that such a thing shouldn’t have happened. No matter how out of it she was, she shouldn’t have missed such large road signs. Nancy spoke up, "Julius Shaw, I really didn’t see those road signs and obstacles when I ca in."

Nancy wasn’t making excuses for herself; she truly hadn’t seen them.

She initially thought soone might be trying to harm her, but she decided to go out racing on a whim and borrowed Hamilton’s car for a ride along the river on a random decision. If soone truly wanted to harm her, they couldn’t have predicted her thoughts in advance.

Nancy felt a slight headache as she wondered if maybe it was the pressure lately that had left her a bit unfocused?

Julius Shaw nodded in agreent, "Yeah, I didn’t see them either."

Nancy felt a bit helpless since Julius Shaw’s attention had been on her the entire ti. It was understandable that he hadn’t noticed outside.

But as the driver, she really shouldn’t have missed them.

In the driver’s seat, Basil Smith said, "Young Madam, rest assured, I believe you didn’t see them. Whether it was an accident or soone’s mischief, our people are already investigating."

Hearing this, Nancy felt sowhat relieved.

The three-month deadline felt like a mountain pressing down on her, and the closer it got, the greater the pressure in her heart.

Nancy decided not to wander around anymore, otherwise, in her current dazed state, sothing might really go wrong.

More importantly, she realized that every ti sothing happened to her, she erged unscathed, while it was Godfery Shaw or Julius Shaw who would end up getting hurt.

They returned to the Imperial Garden.

Basil Smith quickly prepared the dical kit to stitch up Julius Shaw.

But Julius Shaw went straight upstairs.

Nancy hurriedly called out, "Julius Shaw, your arm is still bleeding, where are you going?"

Julius Shaw paused, "I’m just going upstairs briefly, I’ll be right down."

Nancy was about to follow when Luna Sumr whispered, "Young Madam, the second young master might just be going to the bathroom."

Nancy paused and her expression beca a bit awkward.

Julius Shaw went to his room, washed his hands first, then carefully removed the brooch from his clothing, cleaned it ticulously, dried it gently, and solemnly placed it in a wooden box.

That wooden box contained a cotton candy stick, a dried white rose, movie tickets, small toys from an amusent park, and many other random little items—all given to him by Nancy during this ti.

These were the things Julius Shaw cherished most, the evidence that he had lived once like a person.

After securing the brooch and hiding the box, Julius Shaw went downstairs to tend to his wound.

After Nancy’s remark last ti, Julius Shaw no longer wore shirts or suits. Loose clothing was more convenient for dealing with the wound on his arm.

The wound was deep, with so dirt and sand embedded in the flesh.

For so reason, Nancy, who could stab herself with a knife without flinching, couldn’t bear to look—she averted her gaze, took a couple of deep breaths to calm herself.

Whether this was an accident or intentional, Nancy didn’t have the energy to handle it and left it to Hailey Smith to investigate.

She stayed with Julius Shaw every day, didn’t go out, and avoided dangerous and thrilling activities.

She seed to settle down, appeared calm—

Though, in truth, that restlessness turned into an unspeakable sadness.

The three-month deadline was approaching, and so was Julius Shaw’s birthday.

This one and only birthday, Nancy wanted to celebrate it sincerely for Julius Shaw.

At night, after Julius Shaw had fallen asleep, Nancy would quietly head to the studio.

She retrieved the pieces of the paintings she had hidden last ti, carefully taped them back together, and looking at the gentle gaze of Godfery Shaw in the drawing, Nancy picked up the paintbrush once more.

She wanted to paint a picture for Julius Shaw.

To depict the birthday gift he wished for.

Every night Nancy would secretly spend the midnight hours in the studio without being discovered.

She had ntioned to Basil Smith and Hailey Smith what she needed for preparations.

And then, when Julius Shaw wasn’t around, she quietly paid a visit to Ink Manor.

Seeing Nancy return, Robert Reed instinctively looked to see if that troubleso Julius Shaw was following her, and upon realizing he was not, Robert Reed’s smile beca amiable.

"You actually ca back, co in quickly, quickly. I happened to make sothing delicious today, co and try it. Sophie Allen has been missing you for a long ti." Robert Reed pulled Nancy into Ink Manor.

The painters in the main hall all gave Nancy friendly smiles.

Sophie Allen, hearing the noise, ca running out.

"Mom! You’re back! Have you missed ?"

"Missed you, missed you a lot."

Nancy hugged Sophie, pressing her cheek against hers. The little girl’s cheeks were rosy, looking healthy—not at all like a girl raised on dication.

Every ti she saw her teacher and Sophie, Nancy felt she owed them.

She always had so much going on and never properly cared for Sophie or repaid her teacher.

In truth, Julius Shaw’s affairs shouldn’t involve them.

Yet, thinking of the upcoming three-month period, Nancy spoke up, "Teacher, it’s Julius Shaw’s birthday the day after tomorrow. I’d like Sophie to co to Ink Manor."

Robert Reed’s smile instantly froze, "I won’t agree. I can refrain from kicking that troubleso guy out, but Sophie cannot go to the Imperial Garden."

Nancy wanted to say sothing more, but couldn’t bear to.

She didn’t want Julius Shaw to have regrets. She wanted to tell her teacher that Julius Shaw wouldn’t harm Sophie anymore.

But how could past harms be forgotten? She shouldn’t have asked this of them.

Just then, Sophie in Nancy’s arms excitedly said, "Mom, is it Uncle Shaw’s birthday? I want to go; I want to give him a gift."

Robert Reed sternly said, "Sophie, Grandpa has told you to stay away from that dangerous person. Have you forgotten how you got hurt last ti at the Imperial Garden?"

Sophie softly said, "But Uncle Shaw didn’t do it on purpose."

Robert Reed wanted to say that the crazy troubleso guy indeed did it deliberately, but faced with such a kind and innocent Sophie, he couldn’t say it out loud.

Robert Reed sighed helplessly, "Fine, go then, go. I must have owed him in a past life. I’ll accompany Sophie."

In truth, seeing the pleading in Nancy’s eyes, Robert Reed couldn’t harden his heart.

He just couldn’t swallow the humiliation of the past. Now, since Sophie wished to go, he gave in easily.

Besides, he wouldn’t let Sophie go to the Imperial Garden alone. He’d go with her, and if the troubleso guy dared do anything again, he’d make him pay with his life!

Nancy’s eyes were slightly red, too grateful to speak.

Sophie, on the other hand, was very happy and hurried to prepare a birthday gift.

Nancy didn’t linger long at Ink Manor, worried that Julius Shaw wouldn’t be able to find her.

Watching Nancy’s hasty retreat, Robert Reed sighed, "After all, it’s the sa person. Is it really necessary to go through such trouble, celebrating a birthday for another personality?"

When Nancy returned, Julius Shaw was at the entrance of the villa, sitting on the resting bench near the door.

Just sitting there, quietly looking towards the entrance, waiting for Nancy’s return.
