In the previous days, during the days when Nancy Allen and Julius Shaw were injured.

Emma Lewis had arranged for a flower shop clerk, who hadn’t arrived yet.

Ruby Carter was the only one in the flower shop.

None of them knew that soone had been watching the flower shop all along.

Marsh Smith found it hard to understand why Nancy Allen was intimate with Young Master Shaw, and then Young Master Shaw publicly announced Nancy as his wife at the party.

Earlier, he maliciously inford Julius Shaw that Nancy was with another man, but it didn’t cause any waves.

Marsh Smith always felt sothing was off, wanted to continue inquiring for more information, only to find Alva King couldn’t provide anything clear, so he ca over to check personally.

When Marsh Smith arrived, he saw a small figure sitting on a chair at the entrance of the flower shop from afar, their face covered by a book they were reading.

Thinking it was Nancy, Marsh Smith stepped forward quickly, with so joy saying, "I finally see you."

Ruby Carter was startled, put down the book in her hand, sat up, and timidly looked at Marsh Smith: "Who are you? I don’t know you."

Marsh Smith felt a bit disappointed, realizing it wasn’t Nancy.

But this girl’s pale face, with a fever patch on her forehead, looked sickly, sowhat resembling Nancy’s pallor.

Maybe it was this little resemblance that made Marsh Smith a bit gentler, lowering his voice: "Sorry, I mistook you for soone else. Hello, are you the clerk here?"

Ruby Carter shook her head and then nodded, explaining: "I’m not a clerk, but Miss Allen asked to be here. Sir, do you want to buy flowers?"

When Marsh Smith heard her call Miss Allen, he knew this girl had so connection with Nancy, at least not in the sa way a clerk or owner of the shop would be.

He intended to say he wouldn’t buy flowers but ended up nodding: "I’ll buy flowers."

Ruby Carter brought out a large bouquet according to Marsh Smith’s request, and after Marsh Smith paid, he laughed and said, "Consider the flowers a gift to you."

The young girl, inexperienced and easily led, just like Alva King, who would honestly answer anything for a small benefit.

Ruby Carter froze for a mont, shook her head: "Sir, please don’t joke, I cannot accept them."

Marsh Smith casually said: "If you don’t want them, just throw them away. I’ve already paid."

This is generally said because if girls don’t have a strong dislike, they tend to reluctantly accept.

Moreover, Marsh Smith considered himself quite handso.

However, Ruby Carter thought for a while and returned the bouquet to the flower basket.

Marsh Smith froze for a mont and then laughed: "What’s your na?"

Ruby Carter replied seriously: "Sir, if you’re not buying flowers, please leave. I need to read."

Marsh Smith was the type of person who tends to act annoyingly; the more fondly you treat him, the less he appreciates you.

When you ignore him, he tends to pay more attention to you.

Marsh Smith moved closer, smiling: "I an no harm. May I invite you to dinner?"

Ruby Carter stepped back two steps: "Sir, please respect yourself. I don’t know you."

Looking at Ruby Carter’s pale face, Marsh Smith increasingly thought she resembled Nancy, and he gathered himself up: "Sorry to alarm you, it was just a friendly joke. You read your book, I was just leaving."

Marsh Smith left after saying this.

Ruby Carter initially thought it was just an accident.

However, in the following days, this person kept appearing, and he knew her na, knew her brother, sending a heap of ssy yet seemingly valuable things.

He didn’t give Ruby Carter a chance to refuse, simply saying if she didn’t want them, she should discard them.

Marsh Smith felt that winning over a young girl was only a matter of ti; according to his research, Ruby Carter’s family wasn’t well off, her brother worked as a security guard, and her illness required money.

In this world, most problems can be solved with money.

It was only because Ruby Carter bore so resemblance to Nancy Allen that Marsh Smith exercised such patience.

However, Ruby Carter only felt wary, thinking that unsolicited kindness was suspicious.

All of this was seen clearly by Alva King.

The fish market wasn’t far from the flower shop.

After being fired, Alva King returned to the fish stand but kept sending ssages to Herbert Smith who used the na Marsh Smith.

Initially, the other party would transfer money, but after a couple of days they suddenly wouldn’t reply, and when she persisted, she was directly blocked.

Alva King couldn’t understand what she had done wrong, looking through her chat records over and over, thinking perhaps she had been too impatient in asking for money and gifts, causing displeasure.

Alva King felt frustrated, thinking she could explain, but couldn’t find anyone.

She recalled eting the person at the flower shop, ran over there hoping for another encounter.

Such a wealthy and outstanding man, she t one after a lifeti, how could she let it pass by.

When Alva King ran to the flower shop again, she saw an additional woman with a fever patch on her forehead, likely the new clerk, she didn’t pay much attention.

But the man she longed for appeared, gifting flowers to the woman with the fever patch, then frequently coming by to give her bags, jewelry, those things she had long wanted and hinted at without success.

That woman just sat there, a sickly appearance, without having to ask for anything, it was all presented to her.

Compared to her previous treatnt, it was a world apart.

No wonder he ignored her, apparently he had found soone new.

Feeling secretly observing day after day, Alva King couldn’t stand it.

She didn’t dare confront the man, so she went to Ruby Carter.

Ruby Carter was busy packing the things Marsh Smith had sent; she hadn’t used a single item and was planning to return them all.

At that mont, Alva King walked into the store.

Ruby Carter initially thought she was a custor, since there was self-service flower buying, she didn’t need to attend.

The next mont, she heard an aggrieved voice: "What a vixen, seducing other people’s n, letting him spend money on you, buying so many things, you really have so talent."

Ruby Carter frowned, looking over, she didn’t recognize Alva King.

But from what the person said, she knew who they were referring to.

Ruby Carter explained, "I don’t know that person either, and I don’t know why he sends things over. I’ll tidy them up and return them."

Alva King mocked disdainfully, "Stop pretending, the person is gone, who are you putting on a show for? You use this falsely aloof deanor to willingly let him spend money on you, true vixen, utterly disgusting."

Ruby Carter was taken aback by the verbal assault.

Having barely stepped outside as a child, she didn’t attend school properly, had hardly t any people, and never encountered sothing like this.

She explained, a bit unsure, "I really don’t know him. If he’s your friend, please tell him to take these things back."

Ruby Carter was genuinely pure and young, didn’t understand romantic jealousy, she simply wanted to return the items.

But in Alva King’s view, this was provocation, daring her to pass on the ssage, was it intentional mockery?

The man she liked favored this frail girl.

The flower shop job she desired landed on this frail girl.

Alva King was mad with jealousy, raised her hand and slapped hard.

"Vixen, deliberately provoking , if I wreck your face, let’s see if he still likes you."
