Joyce deliberately placed Alia Wright’s food next to Godfery Shaw.

Alia looked at Joyce, who was trying to matchmake her with Godfery Shaw, and sat beside Godfery.

Actually, there was nothing much to avoid.

Godfery was still the sa Godfery.

As long as she didn’t overthink it, she could keep the sa safe distance as in the past life.

Neither of them spoke, and the atmosphere was peaceful.

Alia hadn’t finished eating when she received news of Oliver Wright’s divorce.

She went online to check, and sure enough, the news of Oliver and Bess Bennett’s divorce was everywhere.

Oliver acted really quickly, and Alia wondered how Bess Bennett felt now.

Since Oliver was divorced, as per the agreent, she had to attend the Jade and Gold Pavilion auction tomorrow.

Alia said to Godfery Shaw beside her, "First Young Master, tomorrow I have to attend an auction with the Wright family as the Young Mrs. Shaw."

Although it wouldn’t affect the Shaw family, Alia still felt she should inform Godfery.

Godfery Shaw looked up, his deep eyes fixed on Alia, "You want to accompany you?"

Alia was startled; she didn’t an that at all. How could she have such unrealistic thoughts?

"No..." Alia started to refuse imdiately, but suddenly rembered the troubleso consequences of repeatedly refusing Godfery before, and twisted her words abruptly, "I would like the First Young Master to go together, but... I dare not disturb you with official matters."

Godfery frowned slightly and did not continue discussing this matter.

Alia breathed a sigh of relief.

The next mont, Godfery pushed a card towards her, "Get whatever you like."

Alia’s heart skipped a beat as she looked at the limitless secondary card from Godfery, hurriedly saying, "I don’t need... No need for money, I’m just going to look at the auction..."

Godfery didn’t speak, silently looking at Alia.

Alia had no choice but to take the card.

If one has to choose between money and people.

Then she would choose money.

Sotis Alia really didn’t know what Godfery wanted from her; he wasn’t here for affection or physical desires. Does he just want to keep her like a pet, happy with good food and drink?

Having never kept a pet, Alia didn’t understand this feeling.

...

The next day.

Alia went to the dress section of the closet and picked a not-so-gorgeous dress to wear.

It was a bit cold today, and having just recovered from an illness, Alia wasn’t keen on catching a chill, so she draped a black coat over her shoulders and wore a hat covering most of her face before heading out.

Jade and Gold Pavilion Auction Venue.

The doorman politely asked, "Hello, may I see your invitation, please?"

Alia shook her head, "I don’t have an invitation."

Past life’s Alia never attended such a grand auction event and didn’t know an invitation was required to enter.

Yesterday, Oliver only told her to co and didn’t ntion the invitation.

Being stopped didn’t anger Alia, nor did she leave. Instead, she sat in the outdoor lounge area, planning to wait for Oliver to arrive and then go in together.

Perhaps Alia’s deanor was too indifferent; even wearing a coat and a wide-brimd hat that revealed only half her face below the chin, she still aroused hostility among so won.

Won inevitably feel hostile to those they consider more beautiful than themselves, especially in settings like today’s where no woman wants to be outshone.

Not long after, so people started whispering and laughing.

"Without an invitation, why co to Jade and Gold Pavilion!"

"Not just anyone can enter here, so why stand at the entrance if you can’t get in? It’s really unsightly."

"Maybe she’s just one of those won trying to climb the social ladder, sneaking in to snag a rich guy as everyone here today is wealthy and distinguished."

Marsh Smith and Ava Wright arrived together and saw the scene of Alia being troubled.

Marsh instinctively took two steps forward.

Ava’s face changed, grabbing Marsh’s hand with a look of grievance, "Brother Marsh, are you going to leave to find Alia?"

Marsh halted his steps, looking at Ava with sympathy, "How could I, Ava? I’ll always protect you, but Alia is attending the auction with my uncle; can’t let her lose too much face."

Marsh didn’t understand himself.

Clearly, after the fire incident and yesterday at the café, he should detest Alia, yet he couldn’t bring himself to hate her.

Instead, in the past few days, Alia would occasionally pop into his mind.

Marsh thought it wasn’t his fault; bla it on Alia’s face, which was too srizing.

Ava saw Marsh’s gaze and imdiately knew what Marsh was thinking. In the past, Marsh only had disgust in his eyes for Alia, but now his evasive gaze said it all.

Ava was secretly hateful, thinking how useless he was, causing a live stream debacle to set up Alia, yet not trapping her at all. Instead, Alia captivated him.

This couldn’t be allowed; it had taken her long enough to manipulate Marsh into obeying her for years.

She had to think of a solution...

Alia didn’t notice Marsh and Ava; she seed to sit gracefully, unperturbed, out of place with those around her, ignoring the mocking voices around as she was used to worse in her past life.

Suddenly, soone approached and reached out to remove Alia’s hat.

Alia squinted her eyes, glaring with hostility.

A man in black cargo pants, with bronze skin and a buzz cut, a rugged and distinct look, and a blue stud in his right ear, the kind of man who could make young girls scream, approached.

Alia’s eyes widened, hostility fading.

The man smiled, "Little one, it really is you. Do you want to enter Jade and Gold Pavilion? I’ll take you in."

Alia was a bit surprised too, "Elijah Jefferson, why are you here?"

Elijah was a deity in the old district; Alia didn’t expect to see him here.

Elijah bead, "Oh, I hadn’t ntioned it; I belong to the Jefferson family in Capital City, here today to bid on so items."

Towards this man, due to old district number 32, Alia felt a bit closer than to others.

As if looking at a neighbor.

She knew the Jefferson Estate of Capital City, but hadn’t expected Elijah to be part of such an influential dual-empire family.

Seeing Alia’s surprised expression, Elijah tapped her forehead, "You little kid have grown more and more outstanding. No wonder the other day when I claid number 32 of the old district is my person, everyone there said I had a sudden blooming of an old iron tree."

Alia wasn’t mad about being tapped on the forehead.

She suddenly realized why people in the old district looked at her like she was one of their own the other day and greeted her warmly...

At that mont, whether it was onlookers or those mocking Alia, they all shut up.

Firstly, because soone from the Jefferson Estate was here, they didn’t dare to insult.

Secondly, no one expected such a beautiful woman, who couldn’t even get in without an invitation, to be revealed.

Her small face was delicately sculpted like a masterpiece, her slightly cold and expressive eyes, elegant nose, lips like pale cherry blossoms, carrying a kind of fragile beauty that evoked a sense of protection, yet was detached and sublily aloof.

Even wearing a black coat, she looked regal like in a phoenix robe.

Marsh Smith, next to Ava, couldn’t hold it anymore. Seeing another man appear, and with Alia being so cordial, Marsh felt like he was being blatantly cuckolded; it was intolerable.

Why was she so unfriendly to him, yet so cordial to other n?

She obviously liked him!

Unknowingly, Marsh let go of Ava’s hand, took two steps forward, and stood between Alia and Elijah, saying to Alia, "Alia, co here, I’ll take you into Jade and Gold Pavilion."

As Marsh stood too close, Alia frowned and stepped back.

Elijah sensed Alia’s discomfort and placed a hand on Marsh’s shoulder, coolly saying, "Who are you? Didn’t your family teach you it’s very impolite to interrupt soone’s conversation?"

Marsh considered himself an outstanding young man, but in front of Elijah, he was completely overshadowed.

It was as if Marsh was trying to argue face, while Elijah would simply pull out a gun and say, "One more word and I’ll shoot you."

Compared to Elijah, Marsh was utterly inferior.

Everyone was watching the woman who couldn’t enter Jade and Gold Pavilion suddenly being fought over by two n.

Won could not help but feel so envy.

At that mont, a noble and cold voice accompanied by the sound of a wheelchair ca, "My wife, Alia, can’t enter Jade and Gold Pavilion?"

Alia turned back abruptly.
