Reborn on Wedding Night: Flirting the Cold Bigshot into Blushes Chapter 347: The Young Master Cannot Take Risks, but the You
Hailey Smith had already loosened the rope around his feet, but he hadn’t moved earlier.
At this mont, Hardy was lying on the chair, looking content, his eyes almost closed.
Hailey Smith slowly slipped his feet out of the rope.
Silently, he got up and moved gradually towards the door.
He wasn’t trying to escape; there was a ti bomb on him. As long as the other party pressed the remote control, he would die. Running out of the room was useless, but he had to notify the people coming to rescue him.
Hailey Smith moved step by step, his body bound, his hands tied behind his back. The floor was littered with trash, and Hailey inadvertently stepped on a snack bag, producing a faint noise.
Hailey Smith stiffened and turned his head, eting the gaze of Hardy, who was already looking at him with an expression both alert and dazed.
Hailey suddenly crashed against the door; the old door was knocked ajar, and Hailey’s head partially extended outward. The tape over his mouth was loosened slightly by sweat, allowing him to barely make a sound. He struggled to shout, "Don’t co in..."
Hailey’s words didn’t get out. Hardy reacted, rushed over, grabbed Hailey by the hair, and pulled him back, slamming his head against the wall.
"You dare to run! I’ll beat you to death, I tell you, I’m not afraid of dying. If you dare act up again, none of us will make it out alive!"
Hardy, either angry or excited, kept banging Hailey’s head until he was exhausted and then stopped.
Hailey was battered, his head bleeding profusely, with blood streaming down his face, looking terrible. But he didn’t beg; he just stared at Hardy intently.
Hardy t Hailey’s gaze and kicked him again: "What are you looking at? Do you think I’ll go easy on you? Oh right, you dummy probably don’t know this. Before I sold you two burdens years ago, I actually planned to just kill you. But your brother was savvy since childhood, probably sensed it, and convinced to sell you instead. I didn’t expect you two to turn out so well; it’s lucky I didn’t kill you back then, else there’d be no today."
Hailey, who had been staring at Hardy, suddenly widened his eyes in disbelief.
He had always thought the worst thing Hardy had done was to sell them.
So when Hardy ca back, tail between his legs, apologizing, saying he was sick and needed money, pleading that they were heartless to abandon their parents when doing so well, he agreed to give him money, thinking one sum would repay the debt of life.
Hailey didn’t tell his brother about what happened after he left ho for a few days, thinking his brother would be unhappy if he knew. He thought giving money to settle it once and for all would suffice.
If he had known Hardy had planned to kill them long ago, he would never have been soft-hearted!
Hailey couldn’t believe how much his brother had endured as a child, persuading their biological parents to sell them just to survive...
Hailey closed his eyes in pain, blaming himself for being too naive, placing himself in danger, and possibly drawing his brother into danger, too.
Seeing Hailey like this, Hardy seed very pleased and laughed, "I realized when I ca back, your brother didn’t tell you about the past. It’s hilarious; you’re just a fool."
Hardy beat Hailey again. Seeing Hailey’s blood-covered head and hearing no sound from him, and worrying he might die and not get any money, Hardy stopped, restraining Hailey’s feet again.
Hailey seed to be in shock, unmoving, and silent.
Outside, Godfery Shaw’s expression was grim.
In that brief mont when Hailey darted out halfway, he saw it.
Then he saw soone pull Hailey back inside, and the pounding noises from that house were audible from afar.
A confidant behind Godfery said, "Big Boss, I think I saw explosives on Hailey."
This wasn’t a hallucination; Godfery saw it too.
Godfery Shaw lowered his voice: "This is the ssage Hailey is risking to send us. Notify everyone to retreat and keep a distance."
Just after speaking, Clent reported, "Big Boss, Basil knows now. The kidnappers sent a ransom ssage to Basil, demanding a hundred million. Basil is gathering people to prepare for the rescue."
Godfery Shaw’s eyes were cold, "Tell Basil I’m here, stall the kidnappers, and agree to the money."
Clent imdiately inford Basil.
At the wedding venue, Basil Smith and Emma Lewis’s wedding had just concluded. Before the toasting could comnce, Basil received a ssage about the ransom.
That persistent Hardy had returned again; why doesn’t he just die!
Basil knew Godfery was present, which gave him so peace of mind, but he still wasn’t completely reassured just waiting.
Emma was even more determined and about to seek out Nancy Allen.
The two directly canceled the toasting ceremony, with Emma’s parents taking charge of entertaining the guests, and the newlyweds quickly left.
Basil, in everything he did, habitually prepared thoroughly. He arranged for doctors, dicine, cash, and various ergency supplies he might need, rushing over quickly.
Internally, he prayed nothing would go wrong!
After learning about the explosives, Godfery Shaw abandoned the plan for a forced breakthrough.
After contemplating for a mont, Godfery Shaw said, "Hailey managed to get to the door, and judging by the noise, there’s only one kidnapper. We need a way to lure the kidnapper away."
Imdiately, a subordinate suggested, "My height is similar to Basil’s. I can pretend to deliver the ransom and lure the kidnapper out."
Godfery Shaw shook his head, "The ti was too quick. From when Basil got the ransom ssage until now, it’s not enough ti for Basil to arrive and deliver the ransom."
At this mont, Clent suddenly spoke up, "It would be fitting for and the Young Madam to go. We have non-threatening appearances, so we can pretend to be lost siblings out on a suburban hike, willing to pay so money to find soone to guide us out."
At Clent’s suggestion, everyone turned to look at him.
Soone imdiately opposed: "Clent, what nonsense are you spouting? How can the Young Madam take such risks?"
Clent wanted to say he should go too, but couldn’t voice it as everyone disagreed.
Nancy Allen thought about it seriously and instead said, "I find this suggestion quite fitting. It’s not actually dangerous; the kidnapper would just want to get rid of us quickly. He won’t cause trouble over soone who got lost here unintentionally because all he wants is money. Jacob and I can lure him away, while you seize the chance to rescue Hailey."
Clent nodded from behind.
The suggestion made sense because, among the group, Nancy, being a weak woman, seed the least threatening.
But that man was a kidnapper, the kind capable of kidnapping and extortion, so they couldn’t be one hundred percent sure of Nancy’s safety.
Godfery Shaw pondered for a mont and said, "Nancy, I’ll go with you."
Before anyone could speak, Godfery continued, "I must ensure Nancy’s safety."
Without thinking, Clent said, "The Big Boss shouldn’t risk himself. Let and the Young Madam go. If there’s any danger, I’d risk my life to protect her."
The Big Boss couldn’t take risks, but the Young Madam could.
Everyone else looked at Clent with a hint of incredulity.
