Nancy was stopped and instinctively wanted to take action.

Although she didn’t have any sharp weapons, she had hairpins in her hair, and a fierce strike could certainly injure soone.

But she hesitated; she didn’t want Emma Lewis’s wedding to be tainted with blood, as that would be inauspicious.

Thinking of Emma, Nancy held back.

In a hoarse voice, she said, "Who are you? What do you want?"

The woman in the red dress chuckled lightly, "Oh, so you’re not mute. But why does your voice sound so awful? It startled . Don’t be nervous, we’re guests here to attend the wedding, we won’t harm you. We just thought you looked nice and wanted to get to know you, ask which family you’re from."

The woman’s words seed harmless, but they unmistakably had a malicious undertone.

Nancy suppressed the irritation in her heart and said in a low voice, "I don’t want to know you. Please make way now."

The woman in the black dress remarked sarcastically, "Miss Milton, forget it, this person isn’t easy to get along with at all. We’re so friendly, yet we’re despised. Let’s go."

The woman in the red dress sighed, "Ah, we really ant no harm."

As she spoke, the woman in the red dress seed to want to step aside.

But at that mont, her hand that was petting the cat pinched it subtly.

The initially docile cat was suddenly provoked, extending its claws to leap forward.

The woman in the red dress stood right in front of Nancy, very close to her.

With the cat leaping for Nancy’s face from such a close range, it could easily desfigure her, or worse, injure her eyes.

A cat in pain and stimulated is very aggressive.

Nancy saw it coming, but her body was too weak to dodge.

Nancy didn’t quite understand why a stranger could be so vicious.

Her gaze was icy; if soone dared to harm her for no reason, she would retaliate doubly, even if she got hurt.

At that mont, Godfery Shaw had not left yet; he was waiting behind the wall covered by the flower rack to decipher Basil Smith’s location, hidden from view from Nancy’s angle.

Godfery noticed Nancy as soon as she ca out, but worried that the ensuing operation might be dangerous, he hadn’t intended to approach her just yet, to avoid raising her suspicions.

But he didn’t expect to witness soone bullying Nancy.

Godfery didn’t expect, just the next mont, to see the woman putting her hand on the cat, which was directed at Nancy.

Godfery rushed out imdiately. He was very close to Nancy and could push her aside.

But pushing her might cause her to fall and get hurt.

In that brief second, Godfery extended his arm, pulling Nancy into his embrace. The cat shrieked, clawing Godfery’s arm, then landed and quickly ran away.

The two won, unable to see Nancy disfigured, looked sulkily at this spoiler, then their expressions completely changed.

"God... Young Master Shaw."

Godfery kicked the woman in the red dress, his face extrely grim.

The woman in the red dress was kicked two ters away, crashing to the ground, feeling like her leg might be broken. But she didn’t dare scream and could only say with a pale face, "I’m sorry, Young Master, I didn’t an to injure you. It was the cat that went crazy suddenly, I’m sorry, I’m sorry!"

The woman in the black dress was so scared she knelt down.

The Lewis family was not to be ssed with, let alone Godfery Shaw.

Godfery said coldly, "You dare hurt her."

Only then did the woman in the red dress realize that Godfery’s anger was not because he was scratched by the cat, but because she wanted to harm this woman.

Who is this woman?

Is she Godfery’s woman?

They didn’t have ti to think it through; the woman in the red dress tried to argue, "No, it wasn’t intentional, we just wanted to get to know her, the cat went crazy all of a sudden, we didn’t plan to harm anyone. You can check the surveillance if you don’t believe us."

Before doing this, they had thought about the consequences. What if soone found out? So their actions were very subtle, even the surveillance wouldn’t show it.

Godfery, holding Nancy, walked over and kicked the woman again, saying sternly, "Who asked if it was intentional? Hurt her, and you’ll pay the price."

Godfery nodded to two bodyguards dressed in black, instructing coldly, "Take them away first, don’t disrupt the wedding."

The woman in the red dress’s face changed dramatically. She had heard rumors about Godfery Shaw, that in the past five years, his thods had beco particularly ruthless. People in their circle were all terrified, knowing there’d be no good outco if they fell into his hands.

She hadn’t expected, just an act of mischief, with at most a few scratches from the cat, would result in such serious consequences.

The woman in the black dress wanted to scream for help.

The bodyguard coldly covered her mouth, saying, "I suggest you not speak. Right now, Young Master just intends to detain you, not disrupt the wedding, but if you anger Young Master, it won’t be that simple, maybe your whole family will suffer."

The woman in the black dress fainted from fear.

The woman in the red dress covered her own mouth, daring not to make a sound.

The two were taken away, leaving the wedding scene peaceful outside.

Nancy, originally intending to take revenge herself, now disregarded those won and imdiately checked Godfery’s arm.

At so point, Godfery had taken off his suit jacket, and his not-so-thick shirt was slashed open in several places. Nancy quickly rolled up his sleeve and saw several claw marks on his arm, already bleeding.

Nancy frowned, "It’s bleeding; you need a shot."

Godfery reassured, "It’s nothing, just a minor injury. You go back to the wedding, I’ll go get the shot now."

Godfery was trying to get Nancy to return inside; Basil Smith’s location should be deciphered by now, and he needed to go find him. With the unknown danger, he didn’t want Nancy involved.

However, Nancy was incredibly perceptive.

Now, with the grand wedding ongoing, considering Godfery’s concern for Basil, if he really needed a shot, he would just call a doctor over, and not leave to get one himself.

Nancy quickly asked, "What happened?"

Godfery stiffened.

Nancy’s tone turned serious, "Godfery Shaw, don’t even try to deceive . If you don’t tell , I’ll follow you today."

Godfery imdiately refused, "No way, you can’t co with . It’s Hailey Smith, Hailey’s missing, I’m going to find her now."

"How could Hailey be missing? You also said this morning that you couldn’t find her, what happened?"

Godfery shook his head, "I don’t know what’s going on, Hailey was out of touch for several days, only found her back this morning. Even with Basil’s questioning, she wouldn’t tell. We planned to ask after the wedding, but before it even started, Hailey’s gone again."

Nancy murmured, "Seems like sothing really happened. Is the location deciphered? Need my help? Don’t delay, we shouldn’t disrupt Basil and Emma’s wedding, let’s find her now."

Godfery insisted, "You can’t go."

Nancy looked at him calmly, "Godfery Shaw, you know I’m not afraid of danger. For Emma, I’ll go find her; I’d be safer with you."

Godfery was really at a loss with Nancy; her heart was not as fragile as her appearance. If he didn’t let her co, she might go looking on her own.

If Nancy went alone, it would be more dangerous without him.
