Godfery Shaw’s gaze did not linger on Nancy Allen’s new earrings.

The warm sunlight poured in, spreading a radiance across the dining table.

The two of them ate breakfast peacefully and comfortably, like an old married couple.

Nancy Allen was surrounded by Godfery’s gentleness, yet the cool pink diamond on her earlobe seed to be telling the story of another person’s stubbornness, tearing at her soul.

Nancy Allen kept her head down, eating.

Godfery did not ask anything.

After breakfast, they started making the model.

Tomorrow is Emma Lewis’s wedding, and no matter what happens, everything can wait until after tomorrow.

With Godfery around, the progress was faster than Nancy expected.

By five in the afternoon, they had finished building.

A warship model, not perfect but quite imposing, Nancy felt sure Emma would like it.

The Lewis family is not short of money, no need to give expensive gifts, it’s the thought that counts.

Nancy wrapped the model in a gift box and wanted to leave.

The task was completed, there was no need to stay at the Imperial Garden.

But Nancy did not know how to start; having co to ask for help, it felt heartless to just leave after the job was done.

Just then, Emma called again via video.

Nancy answered.

Emma’s voice was less arrogant than usual, carrying a hint of unease, "Nancy, can you co stay at my place tonight, just keep company for one night."

Emma sounded a bit small, appearing to have pre-wedding jitters, anxious about the upcoming wedding.

Nancy was about to find an excuse to leave, and imdiately looked innocently at Godfery, then nodded towards the cara to agree.

Godfery kept watching Nancy, she seed to be saying she didn’t an to leave, just that Emma needed sothing, so she had to go.

That urge coming from the heart to find an excuse to leave quickly pricked Godfery’s heart with pain.

From the screen, Emma imdiately said, "I’ll send a car to pick you up."

Godfery spoke up from the side, "No need, I’ll take her over."

Seeing Godfery, Emma was always confrontational; she couldn’t resist a jab, "President Shaw, please just focus on your work, alright? Basil Smith and I are getting married tomorrow, he’s still uneasy, even wants to work overti tonight!"

Godfery directly hung up Nancy’s video.

Nancy glanced at the model gift box on the table, hesitating.

If she goes to accompany Emma tonight, she would likely go straight from Emma’s place to the hotel tomorrow, inconvenient to co back for the gift.

But if she takes it now and gives it to Emma today, there would be no surprise.

Godfery noticed Nancy’s hesitation, thoughtfully said, "Leave the gift at Imperial Garden, I’ll bring it to you tomorrow."

Nancy was about to say thank you, but the words were swallowed back.

Because intuitively she felt that saying thank you at this mont would definitely make Godfery unhappy.

Godfery arranged for a driver to take Nancy, but he also rode along in the car with her, sitting in the back seat.

Nancy whispered, "The driver can send , you don’t have to."

Julius Shaw gently said, "I want to spend more ti with Nancy."

Godfery’s reply surprised Nancy.

This obviously intimate reply was sothing Godfery would not normally say.

Nancy’s fingertips curled up, subconsciously making a fist, did Godfery notice? Did he notice that after Emma’s wedding, she might make so decisions?

Godfery reached out to hold Nancy’s hand, gently opened her clenched fist, and stroked her palm saying, "Nancy, it’s alright, don’t feel too burdened."

"I..."

"No need to explain, you can do whatever you want."

Nancy felt a sourness in her heart, clearly she was the one who changed, who should be abandoned.

Now it seed she was the one choosing, able to freely abandon Godfery or Julius.

Nancy didn’t know how things ca to this, but Godfery gave her a feeling that even if she chose Julius, he would have no complaints.

This unconditional acceptance made Nancy uneasy.

But the warmth transmitted through the palms of their joined hands gradually cald Nancy.

Neither spoke again.

Imperial Garden was so distance from the Lewis family’s ho.

Godfery reached out and angled Nancy’s head onto his shoulder.

At that mont, Nancy didn’t want to refuse, she softly leaned on Godfery’s shoulder.

Close and intimate, yet a faint sadness spread between the two.

Nancy closed her eyes, not because she was tired, but just to keep them closed.

After a long ti.

"Nancy, we’re here."

Nancy nestled on Godfery’s shoulder, deeply inhaled, then opened her eyes and got out of the car calmly.

She stood outside the car window, waved to Godfery, silently saying, "Goodbye."

Godfery, who was seated in the car, saw Nancy say goodbye, suddenly got out and walked over to her.

Before Nancy could react, Godfery reached out to cradle her face, kissed her.

Nancy hadn’t expected Godfery would do this, spontaneously kiss her in public, eyes wide with surprise at Godfery.

Godfery’s other hand covered Nancy’s eyes.

His kiss, blending tenderness with passion, made one want to follow him into the depths.

Nancy’s tense body slowly relaxed.

After a long ti, Godfery released her.

The hand covering Nancy’s eyes lifted away, face flushed, she looked at Godfery in front of her.

Godfery remained silent, yet seed to say, Nancy, don’t let go of .

Nancy suddenly felt an ache, waved to Godfery, and quickly ran into Emma’s villa.

Until Godfery watched Nancy’s figure disappear completely, he returned to the car.

Nancy ran into Emma’s villa.

Emma ca up, reproaching, "Why run so fast? Your face is all red."

Nancy’s heartache, distracted by Emma’s interruption, faded away.

The Lewis parents also ca up, smiling at Nancy.

Mrs. Lewis clasped Nancy, promptly took out a jade bracelet from an ornate box, and without waiting for Nancy to refuse, put it on her wrist.

"Nancy, thanks to you for keeping company with my daughter Emma, she’s not too fond of people, doesn’t have any friends either, this bracelet is a pair, one I gave her, one for you, you must accept it, consider it a gift for your future wedding."

Emma also glanced at Nancy, "Accept it, my mom doesn’t an anything by it, just as a token between us sisters... or best friends."

Emma always had hopes as a brother, subconsciously wanting to say sisters.

Mr. Lewis also chid in, "Nancy, our Emma has only one friend like you, her mom and I don’t have much in common with her either, having you here, we’re much more at ease, today have a good chat with Emma."

Nancy eventually accepted it.

It feels like Emma’s parents are a bit off sohow.

Emma had already taken Nancy’s hand and led her into a room.

Once inside, Emma’s smile faded, showing so disappointnt.

Nancy’s heart tightened, sothing really felt off.

She asked quietly, "Emma, what happened?"
