Nancy Allen shook her head, dismissing the inappropriate thoughts from her mind, and pushed the door open to enter.

Godfery Shaw thought it was Basil Smith, so he didn’t even lift his head.

However, the newcor was too quiet, prompting Godfery to raise his gaze from the docunts.

He didn’t expect to see Nancy Allen, and a surge of joy filled his heart as he noticed the earrings on Nancy’s ears.

The vivid blood-red color was so bright it was almost blinding, accentuating her pale skin, like a perfectly placed red mark on the forehead of a goddess.

The ruby earrings swayed gently as Nancy moved, each swing seed to hit a tender spot in Godfery’s heart, causing a slight pang.

Was Nancy being too forgiving towards Julius Shaw? Would she ultimately choose Julius?

Nancy didn’t notice Godfery’s gaze on her ears. She approached, picked up a blank sheet of paper from Godfery’s desk, and wrote: "I didn’t have lunch today, so I ca to eat with you."

Even Nancy felt a bit uneasy coming up with such a feeble excuse.

Godfery cald down. It didn’t matter if Nancy was forgiving towards Julius; Nancy cared about him too, and the final outco was still unknown.

He gently said, "Okay, I’ll have Basil arrange lunch."

Godfery’s gaze was so tender that Nancy felt uneasy and turned her eyes away, spotting the flowers she had sent, neatly arranged in a vase. She shifted her gaze again.

Godfery made a call to arrange lunch and ordered a few dishes.

Basil imdiately knew that the Young Madam must have co.

In the young master’s heart, what he ate didn’t matter, or even if he ate at all. How could he have the leisure to order dishes?

Basil quickly made arrangents. At the ti he was expelled, he had looked after the Young Madam along with Hailey Smith, so she knew the Young Madam’s tastes and prepared extra dishes.

Soon, lunch was delivered, and the abundance made Nancy want to marvel at the extravagance of the capitalists.

It was just the two of them, with no one else around to disturb.

Nancy ate in small bites; her focus wasn’t on having lunch but rather on her plan to watch Godfery take a nap.

She quietly observed and found that Godfery’s eyes had so redness, and there were dark circles under them, definitely showing signs of sleep deprivation.

Usually, his imposing presence made it daunting for anyone to stare at his face and notice these details.

Godfery didn’t know what Nancy was up to, but he sensed that her gaze kept lingering on his face, so he asked with curiosity, "What are you looking at?"

Nancy quickly lowered her head to eat.

She couldn’t just say she was looking at his dark circles or admiring his good looks, right?

She was silent, and he didn’t press her further.

Godfery chuckled softly and let it go.

Both of them ended up eating a little more than usual.

After they finished eating, Nancy opened her travel mug filled with herbal dicine.

Usually, after eating, she would dawdle for a long ti before drinking her terribly bitter herbal dicine.

Today, however, she quickly drank it all in one go.

After drinking, Nancy wrote: "Godfery Shaw, are you taking a nap?"

Godfery initially wanted to say no, but then he changed his mind and said, "Hmm."

Nancy imdiately wrote: "Then let’s go to the break room."

Godfery was a little stunned, incredulous that Nancy was here to accompany him during his nap.

Had Nancy put aside the matters weighing on her heart and returned to her forr close self?

Godfery’s expression remained calm, but his mind was racing with thoughts as the two of them entered the break room together.

Godfery was still standing.

Nancy wrote: "What are you standing there for? Lie down and rest; I’ll just be on the small sofa playing around. It’s too hot outside today, and I’ll leave when the sun sets."

Godfery had thought Nancy would join him in sleeping earlier, which made him nervous for a mont.

But she was not resting; she was just using his place to avoid the sun?

Godfery thought for a mont and said, "I’m not sleepy. You can have the bed to rest."

Nancy imdiately and righteously refused: "I don’t sleep, so I don’t need the bed. Besides, I haven’t finished reading my book. You take your nap, rember to put your phone on silent, and don’t talk to . I have a novel to read."

Saying that Nancy sat on the small sofa in the break room and took out her romance novel to read.

The small sofa was directly facing the bed in the break room.

Hailey said she could help Godfery cure his insomnia.

She couldn’t lay in the sa bed with Godfery due to the guard in her heart, but she could stay in the sa room and watch over him.

Godfery noticed Nancy was actually reading and wanted to say he didn’t really have a habit of taking naps, and the break room was just a formality now.

But he didn’t want to miss out on the chance to be alone with Nancy.

Godfery lay down, quietly watching Nancy.

Nancy read for a while, then moved her eyes from her book to look at Godfery.

Seeing that Godfery was still awake, she glared at him.

Then she quickly wrote out a few large words: "You’re staring at , making uncomfortable. If you don’t sleep, I’m leaving!"

After writing, Nancy held up the paper facing Godfery.

As soon as Godfery saw it, he imdiately closed his eyes, not daring to open them again.

Nancy continued to read her book, occasionally glancing at Godfery, who seed to have fallen asleep.

But Nancy knew Godfery wasn’t asleep.

The break room was too quiet, and every ti she turned a page, Godfery’s breathing slowed for two seconds.

Having been in a coma for five years, Nancy subconsciously paid attention to breathing details.

Another half hour passed, and it was still the sa.

Nancy sighed inwardly and stopped turning the pages.

After the page-turning stopped for a long ti, Godfery opened his eyes.

Godfery thought Nancy had fallen asleep on the sofa, but when he opened his eyes, he was t with Nancy’s gaze. It was too late to close his eyes again.

Nancy wrote: "Is it because I’m here that you can’t fall asleep? If I’m hindering your rest, I’ll just leave first."

Hearing Nancy say she wanted to go, Godfery imdiately said, "I have so insomnia, and it usually takes a while to fall asleep. You haven’t been bothering , and I’ll fall asleep soon."

Nancy nodded and wrote: "Then you should sleep."

Godfery closed his eyes again, this ti really not daring to pretend to sleep.

A half-hour later, Godfery’s breathing had deepened, indicating he was asleep.

Looking at Godfery’s sleeping face, Nancy felt a bit sad.

This man’s emotions were restrained and patient, never making her feel uncomfortable.

Born to be high and noble, yet he was incredibly accommodating to her, letting her co close or step back at will.

He held back his overwhelming emotions, allowing her freedom.

But how was she worthy of being treated this way?

Recently, Nancy had also been experiencing insomnia. After thinking about it for a while, she felt tired. She set down her romance novel, picked up a nearby blanket, and slept on the sofa.

The quiet break room was filled with only the sound of their breathing.

anwhile, at the coffee shop, Ian Bailey had been waiting for a long ti, but Godfery hadn’t shown up.

The dication from yesterday might have had so effect, but it could still be improved. Ian intended to see how things were today, but Godfery didn’t arrive.

He tried calling Godfery, but there was no answer.

Ian was quite upset, glancing at the flower shop across the street. The hanging chair outside no longer held the young girl he expected.

There seed to be another young girl selling flowers in the shop now.
