Reborn on Wedding Night: Flirting the Cold Bigshot into Blushes Chapter 250: Who Gave You Permission to Touch Her Painting
Early the next morning, as dawn broke, Sophie Allen carried her paints and brushes to the old town.
Sophie was familiar with the old town as she had been running around it often; it was Elijah Jefferson’s territory and therefore safe.
Emma Lewis had arranged for a driver to accompany Sophie, and then went off to handle her own affairs.
Sophie, knowing her way, easily found the key under the windowsill flower pot, opened the door, and went inside.
She looked around at the place she had visited countless tis since childhood and grinned.
Stepping onto a stool, she removed several paintings hanging on the wall.
A few days ago, she heard her grandfather ntion that a few years back, Mr. Shaw had secretly spent millions buying her mom’s paintings.
Yesterday, during a conversation, when Mr. Shaw ntioned her mom, he showed a sad expression on his face.
Sophie thought of taking one of her mom’s paintings to give to him.
However, she felt that her mom’s paintings seed gloomy, like glass covered in dust; the more you looked at them, the easier it was for your mood to sour.
So she decided to tweak them herself, add sothing before gifting them to Mr. Shaw.
Since she had her mom’s approval, Sophie felt at ease and confidently started painting.
On a barren land with a dead tree, she painted so fresh green buds.
On a trapped pine, she added a little squirrel.
As the desolate waterfall fell, two red fish leaped out.
The bright colors and youthful strokes on the five-year-old yellowing canvas broke the depressing despair, like wiped clear glass revealing a clean, bright shine.
The contrast between dull and vivid created a unique feeling.
Even Robert Reed admitted that Sophie had a talent for art.
Sophie looked at the painting she’d altered, nodding with satisfaction.
She took the pine painting, thinking Mr. Shaw was much like the pine in the painting, trapped by the stones but not as bad after all; look, the pine was resilient and living, and now it even had a squirrel for company.
Sophie planned to give this painting to Godfery Shaw.
She thought for a mont and then re-hung the other paintings back on the wall.
No one knew what Sophie quietly did in the room.
Godfery Shaw’s arranged guard just saw Sophie leave the house two hours after going inside.
Sophie had visited before frequently, so it wasn’t an unusual occurrence, and they paid it no mind.
After Sophie left, there was still an hour left until her agreed eting with Godfery Shaw, so she returned to Ink Manor.
However, at that mont, outside Ink Manor.
A black car was parked there.
Godfery Shaw got out of the car and headed toward Ink Manor.
Inside Ink Manor, Nancy Allen, who was planning to go out, now couldn’t leave.
If she went out now, she would run into him directly.
Before Godfery Shaw accepted Sophie, Nancy avoided eting Godfery Shaw; both Old Mr. Reed and Emma Lewis supported her decision.
Nancy only glanced at Godfery Shaw from a distance.
The mont she saw Godfery Shaw, mories of the past years flashed rapidly through her mind.
Once, she and Godfery Shaw had too many problems of their own.
She was focused on revenge, and Godfery Shaw had his own secrets.
To this day, Nancy still didn’t know what Godfery Shaw was concealing with his distant attitude. Was it because of the struggle with the Shaw family?
That fight ended two years ago, so why didn’t Godfery go to Capital City to find her? Her parents said Godfery hadn’t inquired about her at all these past years.
If she hadn’t seen Godfery Shaw decisively willing to die with her — rembering that in a past life Godfery Shaw had done so once — Nancy wouldn’t have dared to be sure of Godfery’s intentions.
Now, Nancy could only be sure of one thing: Godfery Shaw liked her, and she had feelings for him, too.
He’s no longer the sa as he was five years ago.
The restraint and patience had dissipated, his entire being now exuding an imposing presence, like he was radiating a fierce aura.
Whether it was due to the tense hiding, Nancy’s heartbeat accelerated.
"It’s still early for the appointed ti, why did he co so soon? He must be here to find Sophie. Hurry along with upstairs, he’s coming soon," Emma said, feeling flustered.
Emma quickly led Nancy up to the third floor.
Just as Nancy went upstairs, Godfery Shaw entered Ink Manor.
Robert Reed, unfriendly toward Godfery Shaw, coolly said, "You’re looking for Sophie, right? She’s out, will be back in a bit."
On the third floor, Emma was a bit anxious too; Godfery Shaw was too clever, she worried he might notice traces of Nancy’s presence.
Emma hurriedly called Sophie, urging her to return quickly.
With just one appearance of Godfery Shaw, the whole Ink Manor seed to quiet down.
Until the driver brought Sophie back.
Sophie glanced at the car at the doorway, then at Godfery Shaw sitting inside Ink Manor, and imdiately understood.
Without entering Ink Manor, she said directly outside, "Mr. Shaw, I’m late; have you been waiting long for ?"
Seeing Sophie arrive, Godfery Shaw nodded towards Old Mr. Reed, got up to leave, and said calmly, "No, you haven’t; the appointed ti has yet to arrive."
The two got into the car, and the vehicle parked at Ink Manor’s entrance finally drove away, letting everyone inside Ink Manor breathe a sigh of relief.
The car headed toward the amusent park.
Godfery Shaw had never been to a place like an amusent park, nor had he ever intended to visit.
But after yesterday’s conversation, he decided to treat this child better.
His assistant ntioned that kids usually love amusent parks, so he casually suggested it, and Sophie agreed.
Soon after getting in the car, the child beside him started nodding off, her little head bobbing up and down.
Godfery gently adjusted her, making her lie down to sleep.
Today Sophie had woken up very early to rush for painting, and now in the car, she was overwheld with drowsiness.
The amusent park was really close, just took a little over ten minutes to reach.
Godfery Shaw didn’t wake Sophie, instead picked up so docunts beside him and started reviewing them, planning to let her sleep a bit longer.
After reading the docunts for a while, Godfery Shaw suddenly quietly asked the driver, "What do people do at amusent parks?"
This temporary driver was feeling quite baffled seeing the eldest bring a child to an amusent park today.
Upon being asked by the eldest now, his mind went blank again.
Mostly because this wasn’t sothing that the eldest would typically do.
The eldest could just give orders for what was to be done, why bother spending so much ti accompanying a child to play here.
Yet the eldest asked, so he quickly answered, "First, you go in and buy tickets, purchase an all-access pass, then you can play all the rides within the park, and then walk around, choose what you want to play."
Godfery was just about to ask him to keep his voice down.
Sophie woke up.
Sophie rubbed her eyes, waking up and seeing they’d arrived at the amusent park, instantly reviving her spirits.
The big and small got out of the car, and Godfery stated calmly, "I’ll buy the tickets."
Sophie quickly replied, "No need, no need to buy an all-access pass; many rides in the amusent park have height restrictions, and I’m too small to play so. It’s better to buy tickets for the specific rides we want, so we don’t waste money."
Godfery didn’t really care about the money, but the process differed from what the driver suggested...
Sophie, being very familiar, swiftly led Godfery inside, queued up, and bought tickets for her usual favorite mini-gas.
The striking pair of big and small drew quite a bit of attention as they appeared among the crowd.
Sophie played while Godfery watched on the side.
Sophie went on the carousel, the bumper cars, and before playing the water gun battle, she recalled the painting she carried in her backpack, fearing it might get soaked, so she took it out first.
With a smile that bead so bright, she said, "Mr. Shaw, this painting is for you."
Godfery Shaw took it without much thought, but upon opening it, his expression changed dramatically.
With a suddenly cold tone, he said, "Who allowed you to touch her painting!"
