Sophie was earnestly discussing with Godfery Shaw.

In recent years, her family hadn’t talked about Godfery Shaw in front of her, but she had heard people outside ntion what happened on the day she was born.

So she felt that she should try to get along with the "Mr. Shaw" in front of her.

Godfery Shaw looked at the child before him, his eyes sowhat complex. After a long ti, he finally spoke: "Okay."

He didn’t know why he agreed, maybe the days of waiting alone for Alia were too lonely, and having such a lively child around seed pretty good.

Sophie imdiately smiled, her eyes full of joy and brightness. "Alright, it’s settled then. I’ll co to play here for half a day on odd-numbered days. Don’t worry, I’ll have Grandpa bring food, so I won’t trouble you."

Godfery Shaw wanted to say that one more al wouldn’t be a problem, but he remained silent.

Instead, he asked: "Why odd-numbered days?"

Sophie replied matter-of-factly, "On even-numbered days, I have many things to do. Grandpa always said that if you don’t work hard while young, you’ll regret it when you’re old. You don’t think that even at five years old, I’m playing all day, right?"

Godfery Shaw: "..."

No matter what Godfery Shaw felt, Sophie had finished her negotiation and planned to leave; her mom was still waiting outside for her.

She waved to Godfery Shaw as she said, "I’ll be going now, goodbye Mr. Shaw."

For so reason, Godfery Shaw found the term "Mr. Shaw" particularly grating.

He stood up and saw Sophie out.

Then Godfery Shaw saw the child running ahead, far away, towards Basil Smith, arms open as she dashed into his embrace and cheerfully called out, "Uncle Basil."

Basil Smith conveniently picked her up.

Godfery Shaw’s face darkened.

He was unhappy, yet didn’t know why!

Basil’s gaze was entirely focused on Sophie, completely oblivious to the dissatisfied look behind him, as he held her and chatted jovially into the elevator.

And the assistants on the top floor noticed Young Master Shaw’s cold eyes fixed on Basil’s back.

The outside world assud this child was Basil’s niece, but those on the top floor saw firsthand that the child ca straight into Young Master Shaw’s office.

This child obviously had so connection to Young Master Shaw.

Yet everyone kept the tacit understanding that to work on this floor, the first rule was not to speak unnecessarily.

Basil accompanied Sophie downstairs, wanting to ensure she got ho safely.

Reaching the entrance of Cloudglow Tower, Sophie pointed to the café across the street, saying, "Uncle Basil, there’s no need to take ; my mom is waiting over there."

"Your mom?" Basil blinked in surprise.

Aroused already?

Finally awake?

"Yep, my mom has woken up." Sophie said and suddenly rembered sothing, gesturing with her tiny finger near her lips in a shush gesture: "Uncle Basil, don’t ntion my mom’s return yet. Wait until I’ve gotten along well with Mr. Shaw, then we’ll tell everyone."

Basil paused abruptly: "Mr. Shaw?"

Sophie pointed upstairs.

The shocked Basil was quite taken aback.

He suddenly felt a bit regretful that he hadn’t gone to see Young Master Shaw’s expression earlier.

Being called Uncle by this child, he wondered what mood Young Master Shaw might be in now, perhaps remorseful for having said he didn’t want this child back then?

Sophie didn’t want Basil to send her off, so he watched as she walked into the café opposite.

Nancy Allen held Sophie’s hand and ca out, also seeing Basil watching from afar. She nodded slightly at Basil.

Basil suddenly bowed to Nancy.

Finally, returned.

The destiny of Young Master Shaw has finally co back!

For these past years, people have said Young Master Shaw was becoming scarier, but the two brothers always watched, observing Young Master Shaw exist like a living corpse.

They didn’t know how long Young Master Shaw could hold on, maybe as long as Young Madam didn’t wake up, Young Master Shaw would wait one day, would keep waiting for the day she finally awakes.

But, wasn’t such waiting truly painful?

Now that Young Madam is back, Young Master Shaw will soon live like a human, right?

Basil returned to the top floor in good spirits.

Then he saw the stack of files piled high on his desk, blocking half of the computer, and froze.

The assistant said regretfully, "Boss Shaw wants you to organize Cloudglow’s financial data for the first half of the year."

Basil’s gaze was blank behind his glasses: "Isn’t this the finance departnt’s job?"

The assistant shrugged helplessly: "That’s what Young Master Shaw instructed, and he wants it done before the end of today."

Basil sighed deeply, thinking that the child calling him Uncle might have provoked Young Master Shaw, who was now in a bad mood.

He never considered the possibility that Sophie being too close with him had made Godfery Shaw jealous and cause difficulty for him.

Basil’s assistant and Reception Lady King exchanged glances, both showing expressions of pity for Bob.

...

Downstairs.

Nancy looked up from afar at Cloudglow Tower, then held Sophie’s hand as they left.

Sophie, with the deanor of a little grown-up, reported to Nancy: "Mom, I already negotiated it. I’ll be coming here often in the future, I’ve found my way. Next ti you don’t need to send , I can co by myself."

Nancy reached out to rub Sophie’s little head, writing in her small notebook: "Our Sophie is really amazing."

Sophie wanted to act indifferent to praise, but couldn’t hold back, smiling gleefully. Of course, she’s happy when her mom praises her, grinning as she said: "Mom, quickly put on your hat; the sun is quite strong."

Nancy adjusted her hat so the brim completely blocked out the sunlight.

Holding hands, the mother and daughter returned to Ink Manor.

Inside Ink Manor, Robert Reed and Emma Lewis were waiting.

Upon seeing them return, they looked a bit nervous.

Nancy chuckled.

Sophie bead brightly: "My negotiation went very smoothly."

Robert Reed and Emma Lewis finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Sophie was raised by their hands, having nurtured her from a kitten-like cub to today, they had invested so much, perhaps their feelings for Sophie were even deeper than Nancy’s.

In their minds, it didn’t matter if Godfery Shaw was there or not, as they had the ability to raise the child well.

However, they also knew that Nancy was right; the child didn’t want to avoid the issue.

They both agreed but were still worried that the child might be hurt again.

Seeing the little one happily co back now, they both felt relieved.

Nancy was a bit sleepy, and after taking dication upon returning, she went to rest.

Sophie excitedly shared with everyone about her agreent with Godfery Shaw, while Robert Reed and Emma Lewis exchanged puzzled looks.

The next day, Robert Reed prepared a delicate bento for Sophie, and per her request, packed paints and drawing paper for her to go to Cloudglow Tower on her own.

Emma Lewis was quite doting and didn’t want to agree.

Yet Robert Reed agreed sternly, just discreetly arranging for the taxi Sophie hailed to be soone he trusted.

Nancy watched Sophie, who carried a small bag out of Ink Manor, and waved at her.

Sophie made a fist, gestured a "good luck" sign towards Nancy.

The little one left with a world-conquering spirit, stepping out of the ho.
