Alia Wright couldn’t leave and settled in at the wine estate.

Admittedly, the environnt at Imperial Garden was quite good. Outside the estate was a large horse track, and behind it a vineyard dedicated to winemaking. n and won workers were busy between the estate and the vineyard, creating a peaceful scene.

The people at the estate were all from the Shaw family of the Capital City.

Actually, in the eyes of these people, Amos Shaw and Godfery Shaw were both young mbers of the Shaw family.

However, before Amos ca, they received an order from Joan Shaw to listen to everything Amos said.

The power of the Shaw family in the Capital City was mostly controlled by a few elderly mbers. Joan Shaw standing behind Amos ant that between Godfery Shaw and Amos, these people should obey Amos.

Alia Wright felt sowhat emotional. She was clearly at Imperial Garden, right by Godfery Shaw’s side, yet could not et him.

Perhaps, like their feelings, they seed so close yet were unable to get near.

Those hidden emotions swirled uncontrollably, leaving Alia with a sense of inexplicable sadness.

Alia kept quiet and behaved well for three days.

Every day she did nothing but eat and sleep, without resistance or discontent.

After three days, whether Godfery Shaw had noticed her absence, she did not know, but Elijah Jefferson and Emma Lewis surely did.

During this period, as her belly grew larger, Emma and Elijah spent much ti with her. With her sudden disappearance for three days and no contact, they would certainly look for her.

If they were to search for her, they would definitely investigate Imperial Garden.

Alia planned to go out for a look, but she was stopped at the entrance of the estate.

A middle-aged man in uniform solemnly said, "Madam, you can’t go outside."

Alia, being stopped, didn’t get angry but calmly asked, "Do you know who I am?"

The manager responded, "I do."

She was the forr Young Madam of Imperial Garden, whose various rumors had been wildly spread back then. Being part of Imperial Garden, even those on the periphery couldn’t possibly not know.

"It’s good that you know. Amos said I could move about within the scope of the estate. As a pregnant woman, being cooped up here every day is not good for the fetus’s developnt. Now I want to visit the winemaking area — are you sure you want to stop ?"

These areas all belonged to the estate’s scope.

Alia stood there lazily, although she was the person being held here, she appeared like the estate’s owner, both fragile and noble, making refusal to her requests difficult.

The manager realized his gaze was too presumptuous and quickly averted his eyes, bowing his head: "If Young Master says it’s okay, then it’s okay. I’ll ask two female workers to accompany you."

Alia listened, faintly mocking.

The Shaw mbers at Imperial Garden — Godfery Shaw and Julius Shaw — were addressed as Young Master Shaw, and outsiders might think those were the only two young masters of the family.

Now, with Amos, they called him Young Master Shaw too.

Alia didn’t wait long before the manager soon summoned two female workers to accompany or monitor her.

Alia seed completely unconcerned about being followed, and she observed the entire winemaking process.

With her appearance, the workers busy with their tasks all noticed her.

Alia didn’t deliberately speak to anyone. After making a round, she told the female workers following her, "Bring a basket; I want to pick so grapes over there in the vineyard."

The two female workers exchanged a look and replied, "Madam, you’re already tired; it’s ti to return."

Alia cast them a frosty glance, her words cold: "As long as I am within the estate’s area, do I need your permission to go anywhere? If you don’t want to follow , you can exchange soone else to watch . Don’t waste breath near my ears."

The female workers felt aggrieved. Did she still see herself as the Young Madam of Imperial Garden?

Stuck in this estate, what was she being so arrogant about?

Despite their dissatisfaction, they didn’t dare stop Alia and couldn’t ignore her, so they had to follow.

Walking out from the stuffy estate, the air outside seed much fresher.

Alia casually plucked two wild grasses by the roadside and started weaving them in her hands, eventually creating a ss and tossing it aside indignantly.

Elijah would make a bamboo dragonfly for her every now and then; now, a box was filled with them in the old town’s house.

Having seen so many, she initially wanted to make one as a clue; when Elijah and the others ca searching, seeing the dragonfly would hint at her presence here. But making a grass dragonfly was harder than expected, and she failed...

Never mind; even if she succeeded, Elijah might not find it.

Thinking of these things, Alia and the others reached the vineyard.

The female worker behind Alia introduced, "This area is all part of the estate’s vineyard, consisting of multiple varieties. Which kind does Madam want to pick?"

"It doesn’t matter, here is fine."

Alia walked towards the more crowded area.

The grapevines were planted row by row, with a small path beside each row for walking.

As Alia approached, the female workers picking grapes noticed her.

Mainly because of her appearance — it was hard not to notice her wherever she went.

She was still wearing a white dress, starkly contrasting with the vineyard workers, like a fairy falling into the vineyard. Her slender fingers picked a grape from the vine, calmly peeling and placing it in her mouth.

Then she gently frowned, displeased: "So sour."

At that mont, many instinctively thought, how could such a person be given sour grapes to eat?

Everyone started to understand what ancient tales ant by beauty leading to the downfall of cities and countries.

The female worker behind Alia quietly introduced, "This variety tends to be sour. If Madam prefers sweet, you might try the fourth row."

Alia nodded and went to the fourth row.

Just as she anticipated, while she wandered the vineyard, Amos arrived.

Upon his arrival, Amos said to Alia, "Miss Wright, co out; the vineyard is dirty after the rain, you wouldn’t want to soil your shoes."

Alia looked down. Because of her pregnancy, the shoes she wore were specially made embroidered shoes, found by Elijah, and now they indeed had so mud on them.

Alia, seemingly pristine and untainted, stood in the muddy vineyard, out of place.

Amos extended a hand to Alia, attempting to help her out.

It was unclear whether he was accustod to gentlemanly behavior or if he simply couldn’t bear to see a fairy sullied.

Alia, however, did not take Amos’s hand, and indifferently stepped through the mud, trampling on a couple of fallen grapes, staining the embroidered shoes with grape juice.

Amos frowned, withdrew his hand, and gestured to the female workers not to follow, leaving the area with Alia side by side.

The female workers who had earlier looked down on Alia now turned pale.

Yes, no matter why Alia was here, no matter if she could leave, Amos wanted to assist her and she ignored him. Those who relied on the Shaw family for their livelihood had no right to look down on Alia.

So people, even in the dust, remained radiant.

Amos led Alia away from the winemaking area and, while on the path back, said, "Were you looking for an opportunity to escape today, Miss Wright?"

Alia replied lightly, "You’re overthinking. With so many people watching , what chance does a pregnant woman have to escape?"

Alia was indeed contemplating an escape. The main problem with the estate was the number of people — many people and many eyes.

One person might not reveal anything, ten people might not reveal anything, but that didn’t an everyone at the estate would remain tight-lipped.

Whether it was Godfery Shaw or Elijah Jefferson, as long as soone picked up a thread of news, she could likely get out.

Amos, being a smart man who seed to know what Alia was thinking, calmly said, "Miss Wright, being pregnant, you shouldn’t wander around, in case sothing happens, harming the child would be unfortunate."

Alia’s icy gaze turned to Amos as she heard the threat in his words.
