Alia Wright agreed so inexplicably.

By the ti she realized it, she had already left the café with Elijah Jefferson.

Like a successful matchmaking couple, they left together amidst envious glances.

Once away from the crowded place, Alia tugged at Elijah’s sleeve.

Elijah turned to look at Alia: "What’s wrong?"

Alia whispered: "The reason I asked Anna to find a man for was mainly to create a diversion."

"A diversion for what?"

Alia checked that there was no one around, then lowered her voice even more: "I’m pregnant."

Elijah stopped walking: "Does he know?"

Alia shook her head: "He doesn’t know, and I don’t want him to know. That’s why I asked Anna to find a fake boyfriend. Elijah, this could be a bit troubleso, and you really don’t need to do this. You can consider that money as my investnt in the old district, just repay in the future."

Elijah glanced at Alia’s barely noticeable belly, thinking about his unrequited infatuation, and let out a sigh internally: "I’m the kind of person who’s least afraid of trouble."

Alia found herself at a loss for words.

Elijah grabbed Alia’s wrist and said in a clear voice, "Let’s go, it’s settled then. From now on, you’re officially my girlfriend."

Elijah didn’t hold Alia’s hand; he knew his boundaries because they were just friends.

Elijah led Alia to the parking lot.

Elijah had co on a motorcycle today.

A very cool black motorcycle; Elijah walked over and casually leaned against it, with his clean, sharp haircut, healthy bronze skin, and a blue sapphire gleaming in his right ear, looking really cool.

He gestured with his chin towards Alia: "Get on, I’ll take you back."

Alia glanced at her own belly.

Ever since she felt the baby move last ti, Alia hadn’t done anything reckless anymore.

She truly began to restrain her madness, deciding to protect the child well.

Elijah’s gaze followed Alia’s and then scratched his head: "Don’t worry, I ride smoothly and can go slow, there won’t be any problems."

Only then did Alia get on the motorcycle, sitting on the back seat, keeping a certain distance from Elijah, and holding onto the side of Elijah’s clothes with her small hands.

Elijah noticed the small movents behind him and felt sowhat amused: "Hold tight, we’re departing now. When feeling down, taking a ride and feeling the wind can really help clear your mind."

Elijah rode the bike very slowly, not much faster than a bicycle, without much bumpiness.

Alia watched the roadside scenery pass by, feeling the breeze on her face, and nodded, then said "mm" since she rembered Elijah couldn’t see her nodding.

Slowly, they returned to the old district. Elijah noticed the small hand grasping his sleeve wasn’t as tense anymore.

It was still early, so after returning to the old district, Elijah took Alia to see the construction site.

According to Elijah, this was a date; only this date spot was sowhat peculiar.

Many people in the old district saw them and were delighted, saying the old ironwood tree finally blood.

Only such a beautiful girl was worthy of soone as great as Elijah.

After reviewing the progress, Elijah and Alia picked up Emily Allen from kindergarten, and the three of them went out for dinner like a family of three.

Regarding Elijah’s presence, Emily didn’t say anything.

Actually, as long as Alia wished, Emily wouldn’t object.

Emily’s tolerance for Godfery Shaw was solely because Godfery could soothe Alia’s nightmares.

After dinner, Elijah took Alia and Emily back to 32 Old District.

After the motorcycle stopped, Elijah first helped Emily off the bike, then assisted Alia: "So, we spent half the day together. Was it stressful?"

Alia shook her head: "No pressure, being with you was enjoyable, thank you."

Suddenly, Elijah reached out and hugged Alia.

Alia was about to push away.

Elijah softly said: "Just wanted to make sure there’s no pressure. I don’t want to give you any stress; everything will get better."

Will it get better?

No, it won’t. Like the epiphyllum, it blooms beautifully for just a mont, then silently awaits to wither.

She didn’t dare to ask for too much; just this fleeting happiness in living was sothing she greedily seized.

Elijah let go after just one hug and handed a grass dragonfly to Alia: "I crafted this earlier from roadside weeds. It’s for you, go inside."

Ultimately, Alia said nothing, took the grass dragonfly, and led Emily inside.

Both Basil Smith and Edward Allen witnessed their embrace.

Edward’s eyes widened, wondering why there was another man eyeing his sister, as if one Godfery Shaw weren’t enough.

No way, he must inform Mom and Dad, they need to find a way to bring his sister back to the Allen family.

Basil sighed, feeling a bit nostalgic for his silly brother.

If Hailey Smith were here, he would surely have stord over, either to interfere jokingly or shalessly hold his ground, all to defend the woman of the elder.

But since Hailey left, who knows where he’s ventured off to.

Previously, Basil contacted him and he said the world is so big, he needs to see for himself and hasn’t returned to Imperial Garden.

...

Alia returned to her room and received a call from Anna; the sophisticated voice over the phone laughed: "So, how was it? Was my arrangent top-notch? Let know what kind of outco you desire. If you wish, I can make sure Alia Wright is utterly smitten and won’t look at any other man again."

Alia replied humorlessly: "That’s enough, you don’t need to do anything."

"If that’s the case, then so be it. After all, it’s your money spent here," Anna concluded delightedly: "Oh, by the way, you are in Riverwood City, right? Just so you know, I’ve got good news. I’m coming to Riverwood. Wait for your big sis to arrive and find you, my little darling."

Alia chuckled as the call ended.

It seed Anna had called specifically to inform her she was coming to Riverwood City.

Alia had been a mber of that organization in her previous life and knew Anna held a significant position there. She definitely wouldn’t co to Riverwood City without a reason; there must be a mission.

Alia was sowhat looking forward to Anna finding her as it would add a splash of excitent to her life.

Later that night.

As expected, Godfery Shaw showed up.

With rain pouring outside, he ca soaked to the skin, leaving a trail of water on Alia’s floor.

Alia handed him a towel: "Why would you co in this kind of weather?"

Godfery didn’t take the towel; his deep eyes fixed on Alia, and in a hoarse voice, he said: "Alia, we’re still married; please don’t be with Elijah."

In that mont, Alia found Godfery’s deanor strangely humble, as if he were pleading.

But she... couldn’t grant his plea.

Alia spoke coldly: "If you have ti, we can go to the civil affairs office for a divorce tomorrow."
