Alia Wright heard the na "Alia" and returned to her senses.

It wasn’t a dream, nor was it the distant Godfery Shaw from her past life; Godfery Shaw had truly appeared.

Alia Wright sat on the bed, still nestled at Godfery Shaw’s waist, looking up at him with a rare, uncertain gaze.

She quickly let go of her hands and pretended to be calm: "Sorry, I was just dreaming."

Godfery Shaw looked deeply into Alia Wright’s eyes, wondering what she dread about that made her reach out to touch and hug him.

Alia Wright adjusted her breathing several tis, as if putting on a cold mask again, and calmly asked: "Why did you co here so late?"

"I ca to see you."

"Have you finished looking?"

"No, you can sleep first, I’ll leave once I’ve seen enough."

"Okay."

After waking up, there was a cold barrier between the two.

Both held their own secrets, silently confronting each other with indifference.

Alia Wright lay back down, closing her eyes again, no longer urging Godfery Shaw to leave.

She knew Godfery Shaw ca to accompany her, and tonight, she truly hoped he could be by her side; no need for comfort, just presence would suffice.

Lying on the bed with closed eyes, Alia Wright suddenly asked: "Do you know the things I’ve done?"

"I know."

Alia Wright wanted to ask, even Hailey Smith is afraid, aren’t you scared of ? Yet she didn’t voice it.

Instead, she shifted the question: "Godfery Shaw, why did you announce our divorce back then?"

Godfery Shaw didn’t expect Alia Wright to suddenly ask this; he paused briefly before saying: "We weren’t suitable."

"Really?"

"...Yes."

Alia Wright knew it wasn’t the case; Godfery Shaw liked her. Though living through two lives without understanding emotions, she was certain there were reasons she didn’t know.

Godfery Shaw not speaking now was fine, these were words she originally shouldn’t have asked.

She wouldn’t live long anyway, even after revenge without causing harm and onslaught, she shouldn’t engage with Godfery Shaw.

But today, Oliver Wright’s death, the book of hatred flipped to the final page, left her uncertain of her purpose for living onwards.

In extre restraint, she still asked these words.

After asking, neither Godfery Shaw nor Alia Wright spoke again.

Godfery Shaw simply sat by the bed, looking at Alia Wright, seemingly genuinely just visiting.

Alia Wright didn’t know when she fell asleep.

With him beside her, there were no nightmares, and the restlessness in her heart cald.

She learned that during many nights in the old district, Godfery Shaw had secretly visited.

Once she thought the old district’s familiarity reduced her nightmares, later, when he stopped coming, she couldn’t sleep peacefully and deduced he had co before.

He didn’t say, so she pretended not to know.

Just accompany her for one night, one night is enough.

She shouldn’t disturb his life, nor would she disrupt his life.

The night was long.

In quietness, their breaths intertwined, seemingly intimate.

Yet, it was filled with a struggle against fate, a sorrowful helplessness.

...

On the other side, Ava Wright sat by the roadside.

The sky had already darkened.

She looked blankly at the passing vehicles, her mind filled with fragnted scenes.

She was called to give a statent and then released.

Oliver Wright had died, right in front of her.

Ava Wright, for a mont, didn’t know where she should go.

Sitting until midnight, she almost unconsciously took a cab to a place.

As she got off the car at the hospital entrance, she was still dazed.

How did she end up at Bess Bennett’s hospital?

She had seen that filthy and disgusting scene before and decided she’d never return to the hospital.

But perhaps her heart couldn’t find peace, and she subconsciously thought Bess Bennett could accept anything from her, seeking comfort.

Yet rembering that scene from before, Bess Bennett being unable to care for herself, Ava Wright hesitated.

Hesitating for a mont, considering she had already co, Ava Wright then stepped into the hospital.

The inpatient departnt at night was very quiet.

Only the duty nurse was at the nurse’s station, Ava Wright quietly headed towards that ward.

She approached and pushed open the door, not catching any foul sll, and slightly breathed a sigh of relief.

Bess Bennett lay on the hospital bed, not asleep, heard the door push and glanced to see Ava Wright, then turned her head back, pretending not to see her.

The sound of the door had awakened the caregiver on duty, who rubbed her eyes awake and impatiently said: "Who are you, running into soone else’s room in the middle of the night without knocking, how rude."

Ava Wright contained her arrogant deanor tonight: "I’m here to visit the patient."

"Oh, so you’re a family mber, I’ll go get so water, you two talk."

The caregiver yawned, grabbed a kettle, and walked out of the ward.

Bess Bennett lay thin on the bed, once showcasing grace, but now unrecognizable.

Ava Wright rushed to Bess Bennett’s side and began crying, she cried for a long ti without receiving comfort.

Ava Wright then wiped her tears, looking at Bess Bennett and said: "Oliver Wright jumped to his death."

Upon hearing this news, Bess Bennett hesitated.

Then Bess Bennett laughed, with her face thin and gaunt, her smile bore an extre sharpness.

"Dead is dead, since you call him Oliver Wright, it seems you know about his illegitimate child outside."

Ava Wright forgot to wipe her tears, widened her eyes in disbelief and asked: "You... you knew long ago he had a son outside? Why didn’t you tell ?"

"Why should I tell you?"

Ava Wright was stunned, seemingly not considering such matters needed a reason, questioning: "Isn’t a mother supposed to be good to her daughter?"

"Haha, then tell after my car accident, have you ever called mom, did you regard as your mother? Ava Wright, there aren’t so many things taken for granted, I’ve cared for you for twenty years, and how did you treat !"

"I...I was just scared." Ava Wright defended.

"Haha, do you think you can deceive yourself with these words?"

"Bess Bennett, don’t be aggressive now, you can’t help with anything, you should be satisfied I’m here to see you, I’ve contacted the Allen family, I’ll have lots of money in the future, if you want to have good days in the hospital, don’t anger ."

Bess Bennett looked at Ava Wright like she was a fool, ridiculed: "The Allen family won’t give you money."

"They will, they promised."

"You’re truly an idiot, you’re not the only one who knows about the Allen family’s daughter, if the Allen family were to give money, how would Oliver Wright be pushed to jump off a building, for the Wright family to reach this point? Though it’s self-inflicted, couldn’t you see who was fanning the flas?"

Ava Wright widened her eyes, tentatively said: "Is it Alia Wright?"

"Yes, it’s her, I knew after my car accident, with her around, none of you will fare well. Had no accident happened, I knew when Alia brought back the child from Southern Shore District, she’s the Allen family’s daughter. She’s been playing with you all along!"

Ava Wright suddenly scread to refute: "Impossible! It can’t be so!"

"Don’t believe it? Then just wait and see."

The caregiver returned, hearing Ava Wright scream, hurried forward to pull her, questioning: "What are you yelling about, she’s paralyzed, are you going to hit her?"

Ava Wright only looked at Bess Bennett on the hospital bed, shouting: "You didn’t tell about Oliver Wright’s illegitimate child before, why are you telling this now!"

Bess Bennett, as if mad, said: "Why? To make sure we’re all equally miserable!"
