"Mr. Wright, whatever’s going on, co down first. Don’t do anything rash!"

"Yes, calm down. There’s no problem that can’t be solved."

Downstairs, so people were persuading, so were calling the police, and the crowd was growing larger.

This was happening at Wright Corporation, where many knew Oliver Wright, and many were aware of the animosity between the Wright family and Alia Wright.

In fact, the company was facing bankruptcy and auction because they had plagiarized Alia Wright’s design plans.

Soon, the firen arrived, ready to rescue.

The rooftop of the Wright Corporation was locked, and there was a distance from the locked iron door to the rooftop. If they forced their way in, it might agitate Oliver Wright and he could jump, so the best rescue plan was to negotiate.

Quickly, a rescue cushion was laid out below.

A young firefighter tried to communicate: "Sir, is there anything troubling you? You can talk to us."

Oliver Wright looked crazed, "Alright, go get Alia here. I want to talk to her."

He admitted that he had no right to treat Alia like a pawn, that he couldn’t outsmart her, and he was the complete pawn instead.

But even if he were to die, he wanted to take a bite out of Alia.

Oliver Wright didn’t rush to jump, instead he demanded to see Alia.

Seeing Oliver Wright so agitated, the firefighters had no choice but to contact Alia.

When Alia got the ssage, she smiled and agreed to co over.

Twenty minutes later, Alia arrived. During that ti, the negotiators were trying to break through Oliver Wright’s defenses, but failed to persuade him down.

When Alia appeared, Oliver Wright, who had been sitting on the rooftop, stood up, causing the people below to watch in fright.

Alia was downstairs, looking on indifferently.

Oliver Wright said to Alia, "Alia! You finally ca. Since you’re here, let’s talk."

Alia replied coolly, "Talk about what?"

Oliver Wright had been standing on the rooftop for a long ti, on the verge of an emotional collapse, speaking to himself, "Everything was your sche, wasn’t it? I want to know why you’ve so cruelly destroyed my family. Was it because you were abused growing up in the Wright family, or because the family forced you into an arranged marriage?"

Alia looked up at Oliver Wright on the rooftop, as if watching a clown on a stage: "What did I do to harm you?"

"You caused Bess Bennett to be severely injured in a car accident! You caused my company to go bankrupt! You made Ava Wright break ties with the family!"

"Ha, Mr. Wright, words have consequences, don’t speak recklessly. The car accident was caused by Bess Bennett driving into , the Wright Corporation went bankrupt because you stole design drafts, as for Ava Wright, she’s an adult, how is that my concern?"

That’s the reality, and this was what Oliver Wright couldn’t accept.

He felt Alia’s manipulation, felt her steering the events, but as Alia said, none of it was her direct doing. It was like Alia had sharpened the knife, and they lined up one by one to collide with it.

In such verbal sparring, he couldn’t win against Alia.

Oliver Wright simply stopped talking, shouting unreasonably: "No matter the reason, you’re implicated, if you want to co down, then I want you to kneel and apologize."

Alia remained still, looking at Oliver Wright as if he were an ant.

Onlookers were all looking at Alia.

A forr employee of Wright Corporation spoke up: "Miss Wright, maybe you should apologize first to coax Mr. Wright down, it’s too dangerous."

"Yes, an apology doesn’t hurt, and saving a life even if it’s a bit humiliating isn’t a big deal."

"Miss Wright, apologize. According to him, if you apologize, he’ll co down. It’s a life at stake."

Many of the onlookers were employees of the Wright Corporation, naturally not wanting Oliver Wright to die so easily, since their salaries hadn’t been settled yet. As for who’s right or wrong, that was none of their concern.

As for those gathered to watch, they didn’t know what happened, speaking from a moral high ground.

Once as a foster father and foster daughter, an apology that could save a life seed worth it, didn’t it?

At this mont, Oliver Wright stuck out one foot, as if he might jump any second.

The people below quickly shouted: "Calm down, don’t jump."

"Careful!"

After shouting, they all looked at Alia again.

"Apologize, saving a life is more important."

"An apology won’t cost you anything, don’t be so heartless, are you just going to watch soone die?"

"Please be kind."

The overlapping discussions mostly urged Alia to kneel and apologize. People tend to stand on moral high ground to criticize when they’re not the ones being hurt.

Alia saw firefighters secretly approaching, presumably figuring out a way to rescue Oliver Wright.

Amidst these urgent persuasion voices, Alia spoke with excessive coolness: "Isn’t anyone here understanding one thing? I am the victim. Soone tried to run over with a car, and soone stole my design drafts to ruin my life. I’ve already been rciful not to urge him to jump."

The discussions paused.

Alia’s tone grew even colder: "The world isn’t about who’s weaker being in the right. Oliver Wright, you’re making a fuss to et , trying to use suicide to threaten ? Then you can try and see."

Alia didn’t care about being criticized; she never cared about others’ opinions, and towards the Wright family, she only felt absolute indifference.

Oliver Wright’s voice cracked from shouting: "Did you see that? This is Alia! She’s trying to drive to my death!"

At this point, a woman’s scolding voice ca through: "Who are you? Don’t pull , let go!"

Alia saw Ava Wright being brought forward by her people.

She then mocked Oliver Wright: "It’s not forcing you to your death, it’s your own daughter. If it wasn’t for your daughter severing ties for justice, you’d probably have fled abroad with your whole family by now."

While struggling with soone, Ava Wright heard Alia’s words, realized they were true, and looked up like everyone else.

Seeing Oliver Wright with one foot off the rooftop, Ava’s mouth gaped open in shock.

After the shock, Ava first recalled the night Oliver abandoned her, intending to escape the country with his mistress and illegitimate child.

Ava’s heart overflowed with uncontrollable hatred. She shook off the person holding her.

She shouted at Oliver Wright: "Why did you have soone bring here? Faking a suicide for sympathy, and then have persuade you to co down? Your mistress and son don’t want you anymore, now you think of ?"

Ava thought it was Oliver who had soone bring her over, knowing Oliver was always a hypocrite.

Hearing Ava’s words clearly agitated Oliver Wright further.

Oliver Wright’s eyes were bloodshot as he shouted: "Get out! You get out!"

Alia sneered watching Ava agitate Oliver Wright, word by word.

She knew that being sent abroad was the real reason Oliver Wright was pushed to the brink of a suicidal collapse.
