Reborn on Wedding Night: Flirting the Cold Bigshot into Blushes Chapter 160: Amelia Wright Is in Danger
Alia Wright walked out of Ink Manor and headed to the parking lot.
She drove today because she was now the one being oppressed by Oliver Wright, unable to draw too much attention.
The car she drove wasn’t one of the Wright family’s luxury cars, but a van used by the chef for grocery shopping.
Not far from Alia, with eyes bloodshot like a madwoman, Bess Bennett secretly followed her.
Anyway, she was having a hard ti, so why should she consider that heartless Oliver Wright?
Might as well go all out and cause Alia an accident, clearing the way for Ava.
Outside Ink Manor at the subway entrance, Rose Taylor, sketching portraits at her street stall, witnessed this sneaky scene and quickly put down her paintbrush, frowning as she followed.
Soone was stalking Alia, and the person’s eyes were vicious, obviously harboring ill intent.
Rose initially set up her street stall at the subway entrance outside Ink Manor to atone for her sins.
She realized long ago that her downfall was self-inflicted, yet she enviously blad everything on Alia.
In the end, she found that she had been continuously harming Alia, while Alia never did anything against her.
The malicious scher she used to be had been killed by Marsh Smith’s vicious dog, and now she only wanted redemption. She knew she was just a useless person, but maybe she could help Alia just a little.
Alia’s car drove out of the parking lot.
Bess also drove to follow.
Rose quickly hailed a taxi, urgently saying, "Please follow that car ahead."
The car in front was driving fast, and seeing that they were about to fall behind, Rose anxiously said, "Driver, please go a bit faster."
The taxi driver replied irritably, "Faster? I’m already close to getting a ticket."
"I...I’ll pay for your ticket. Please, just a bit faster."
"Passenger, speeding is illegal. If you don’t want to ride, you can get out now."
Rose fell silent.
The distance between them and the car ahead continued to grow, but if they got out now, they’d surely lose it.
Alia’s car sped ahead, almost always keeping at the maximum speed limit.
And Bess, driving like a maniac, only cared about keeping up with Alia, unconcerned about getting a ticket.
The taxi, of course, couldn’t keep up.
Rose was worried, certain an accident was about to happen. What should she do now?
How was she supposed to warn Alia?
Rose thought for a long ti and rembered her old friend, Mia Parker.
She once couldn’t hear her friend’s good advice and maliciously thought that since she was miserable, she might as well pull her friend down too, so they could both suffer.
Rose’s eyes were bittersweet, unable to comprehend how she could have been so wicked back then.
Perhaps having died once under the jaws of a vicious dog, she now saw her forr self as an outsider, feeling disgust for what she once was.
At this mont, Rose dialed Mia’s number, knowing she owed her an apology. Though an apology couldn’t make up for the past mistakes.
But the phone just kept ringing, with no answer.
Rose smirked bitterly, Mia refused to take her call.
She shouldn’t call again, but seeing the vehicles ahead almost out of sight, Rose dialed again nonetheless.
This ti the phone rang five tis before, just when Rose thought it wouldn’t be answered again, it was suddenly connected.
Rose didn’t have ti to speak.
Mia’s voice was slightly angry: "Rose, what do you want from now? Isn’t it enough that you’ve hurt like this?"
With a damaged voice, Rose said, extrely hoarsely, "I’m sorry."
There was a mont of silence from the other side, "What’s the use of saying sorry? I treated you as a friend, but you... never considered as one. Don’t call again; I’m pretending not to know you."
Rose hurriedly said, "Wait, Mia, I’m calling for sothing important. Do you know Alia’s number? I have sothing very important to tell her."
Mia was furious: "Rose, do you think I’m a fool? One ti wasn’t enough, now you want to hurt again? What are you plotting against Alia this ti?"
Rose’s eyes dimd, yes, every ti she ntioned Alia, it was always with ill intentions.
She said she had changed, but who would believe her?
Even if she had changed, why should those she hurt forgive her?
Rose couldn’t refute, only tried her best to explain, "Mia, I really have an urgent matter, Alia is in danger, I want to warn her, but I don’t know how, I must know Alia’s number as soon as possible."
Mia didn’t want to listen and hung up directly.
Back then Rose fooled her the sa way, begging her for help, pleading her not to tell anyone; she wouldn’t trust easily anymore.
Yet after hanging up, Mia was silent for a long ti, what if... what if Rose was telling the truth?
What if Alia really was in danger?
She couldn’t help Rose find Alia’s number, but she could try to warn Alia.
Mia gritted her teeth and called Old Mr. Reed: "Mr. Reed, I heard that Alia may be in danger right now, if possible, could you warn her?"
Robert Reed, who was chatting with Matt Rowe, changed his expression upon receiving the call: "What did you say? Who told you this news?"
Mia hesitated for a mont, then said, "It was Rose who told , Mr. Reed, I think she... she might not have ill intentions this ti. Even if she does, warning Alia and taking precautions wouldn’t hurt."
Mia felt utterly unworthy.
Despite Rose harming her so much she had to leave Ink Manor, she couldn’t help but speak for her.
In the beginning, when she was new and knew nothing, it was Rose who drove away those who bullied her.
Rose didn’t know that Mia eventually couldn’t harden her heart and inford Old Mr. Reed on her behalf.
Unable to reach Alia, Rose had no choice but to keep following.
Seeing they were about to lose sight, Rose pleaded with the driver, "Sir, I beg you to go a bit faster. The car way up front has a young girl in it, soone might want to harm her. She hasn’t even graduated college yet, she’s just a kid, I just want to catch up and help."
The taxi driver, hearing this, exclaid loudly, "Why didn’t you say so earlier? Is it even broad daylight when soone dares to hurt others, such audacity! I’ll help you chase them, don’t worry, while I won’t speed, there’s no one in Riverwood City more familiar with the routes than this driver with thirty years of experience!"
The taxi swiftly weaved through traffic, making Rose feel as if she were on a rollercoaster, being tossed around.
But Rose was pleasantly surprised as they gradually approached the car ahead.
anwhile, Robert Reed received the ssage and imdiately called Alia’s phone.
Just like Mia said, regardless of whether there’s danger or not, it’s good to be cautious in ti.
"Hey, young apprentice, are you okay right now? Soone said you might be in danger."
"Danger?" Alia was puzzled. She was almost at the Wright family’s place, what danger could there be?
But with the reminder, she looked around and noticed a reckless car in the rearview mirror.
She saw that the driver was actually Bess Bennett.
Bess was following her? What was she planning to do?
Alia calmly replied on the phone, "Don’t worry, teacher, I’m fine. I’m almost at the Wrights’."
