Yet, Alia Wright couldn’t think much.

Her hand holding the silver needle was grabbed by Godfery Shaw. He pulled her tightly against him, their bodies closely pressed together.

Godfery Shaw’s eyes slightly lifted at the corners. His previously aloof, icy deanor turned wicked with this subtle change.

He lowered his head and whispered in Alia’s ear, "Alia, do you want to strip your clothes off and take everything from you?"

Without waiting for Alia to respond, Godfery shook his head, "Forget it, the mountain wind is too cold. Taking off your clothes might make you sick. Tying you up is simpler."

After saying that, Godfery took off his tie and bound Alia’s hands in front of her.

Alia stiffened.

He tied her up again.

The brief doubt Alia had was interrupted. She felt that Julius seed different from the last ti they t.

The last ti, when she couldn’t see, he probably pretended to be the attentive lover, catering to her every need, coaxing and caring for her.

But this ti, it felt like the atmosphere from their first eting returned. The kind where he might break her legs at any mont, making Alia feel extrely dangerous.

Julius was like a ticking ti bomb; no one knew when he would explode.

Godfery was unaware of Alia’s wariness. After tying her hands, he lifted her up again, satisfiedly adjusting her position, whispering in her ear, "Alia is such a good girl."

Alia felt a tingle through her scalp.

In that mont, she found herself a bit absent-minded.

Thinking that climbing the mountain was indeed pointless.

Going up and down the mountain, it was just a different man carrying her...

This man was impossible to communicate with, leaving Alia silent. In the rhythm of each step’s sway, she gradually felt drowsy.

Waking abruptly at three in the morning last night, she hadn’t slept since, now growing more and more tired.

She struggled to stay awake, not wanting to sleep against Julius.

But the familiar scent enveloped her, making her eyelids grow heavy.

The Shaw brothers had similar scents, yet they shouldn’t have been this similar. Exhausted, Alia’s mind couldn’t process thoughts anymore, and she unknowingly fell asleep.

The person in his arms stopped struggling. The brutality in Godfery slightly subsided.

He looked down at the sleeping Alia in his arms, her pale face resting against his chest. Her long lashes occasionally fluttered, as if her sleep wasn’t peaceful, fragile to an extre.

Unbidden, Godfery recalled the madness of that night.

Those closed eyes then looked at him tearfully, crying softly.

Even the uncontrollable him turned gentle.

But how could his Alia be by another man’s side?

The brutality in Godfery’s eyes intensified. Previously on the mountain, if Alia had been even slightly uncooperative, Godfery might not have been able to restrain himself from attacking Elijah, even with the calming incense constantly by his side.

When Alia woke up, she found herself in the Imperial Garden again.

In her old room no less.

Alia quickly got out of bed, barefoot, and ran to the door to open it, only to find it locked from the outside with a new electronic lock; it couldn’t be pried open from inside.

Alia ran to the window, pushing hard, and found the window locked as well.

What was Julius planning?

Did he build a grand golden cage to imprison her?

At this mont, there was a light click as the door lock turned, and a man entered.

Upon entering, he saw Alia standing by the window, attempting to push it open.

Godfery’s face grew darker.

He approached Alia with a syringe in hand.

Alia felt an inexplicable danger from his expression and instinctively backed away a few steps: "Julius, what do you want to do?"

Godfery spoke softly, "Didn’t I say before? Break your legs, so you can’t run. Alia is always disobedient, maybe she’ll behave once she can’t walk."

Hearing this gentle tone made Alia’s spine tingle.

She continued backing away, instinctively searching for her silver needles but finding nothing.

Her clothes had been changed, now a white nightgown.

The man before her spoke devilishly, "Does Alia want to fight back? Your silver needles, that sharp hairpin—I’ve kept them for you. Those things are too dangerous, what if you hurt yourself?"

Alia finally panicked, losing her temper, "Julius, it’s you who’s dangerous. It’s you who wants to hurt !"

Godfery closed in step by step, an obsessive determination in his eyes: "I won’t hurt Alia. I’m just protecting Alia. The outside world is too dangerous."

Godfery’s gaze was twisted and malevolent.

Alia retreated continuously.

He approached slowly.

Alia pushed and kicked firmly.

But her weak body couldn’t resist the towering man.

Pinned down on the bed, the transparent liquid from the syringe slowly injected into her knee.

Alia cried out mournfully, "No, don’t!"

The sound was so pained it made Godfery pause montarily, his eyes montarily dazed as if two personalities were struggling. But in the end, the bloodthirsty, malevolent personality prevailed.

Godfery put away the syringe, coaxingly speaking, "See? It’s fine, it doesn’t even hurt."

Alia felt like a drained doll, attempting to move her legs, only to find they truly couldn’t move, entirely numb.

She couldn’t believe her legs, just like that, had beco unmovable.

Seeing the face identical to Godfery’s in front of her, Alia for the first ti cursed with heartbreak, "Get away, I hate you!"

Godfery stiffened but didn’t move away, picking up Alia and bringing her to the headboard, still speaking gently: "Alia must be hungry, I’ll bring you breakfast."

Godfery finished speaking and walked out of the room calmly, as if he hadn’t just crippled soone’s legs.

Alia sat there dumbfounded, speechless.

How did it co to this?

She sought vengeance, how could her legs be ruined?

After reincarnation, she guarded against all the villains of her past life, against any potential danger.

But she had never guarded against the Shaw family.

Godfery took five years to gain her trust.

Yet she never thought, it would go wrong with Julius here.

What to do... what to do next?

Alia, always determined and cold after reincarnation, for the first ti felt panic and helplessness.

Where was Godfery? Was Godfery here in the Imperial Garden? If he were, he surely wouldn’t allow Julius to treat her this way.

Alia struggled to get off the bed and, unsteady, fell to the floor.

She had to leave; she couldn’t stay here.

With her legs numb, Alia crawled toward the dressing table in the room.

This was her forr room. If no one had touched its contents, there should be a small knife in the dressing table’s drawer.

Alia painstakingly crawled over and opened the drawer. Everything inside was just as it was when she left.

In the very last compartnt, indeed, lay the knife resembling a decorative piece.

Alia took it, just grasping it in her hand, when the room door opened, and Godfery entered.

Seeing Alia fallen on the floor, Godfery’s expression changed.

Alia watched him approach, contemplating the feasibility of threatening him with the small knife.

Ultimately, she disappointingly realized Julius was crazy, unafraid of death. Such a small knife couldn’t threaten this man.

There was only one thing she could do.

Alia lifted the knife, aiming it at her heart, and cried out mournfully.

"Stay back!"
