Agakure Waiting Room
“I am back…” announced Samsara as she returned to the waiting room.
Raijin and Tengu nodded lightly, “Good work…”
Samsara smiled and after taking her seat, she looked at the arena, waiting for the next match to start. As she looked outside, Samsara imdiately noticed people from all over the arena were looking at the Agakure waiting room, and to be more specific, they were all booing at her, clearly dissatisfied with the fact that she had withdrawn from the fight. But she didn’t care about other’s dissatisfaction, and without paying them much attention she waited for ‘Itachi’ to call the participants of the third match. Samsara didn’t have to wait for long as imdiately after receiving a nod from the Godai Hokage, ‘Itachi’ called upon the participants of the third match-up of the quarterfinals, “Darui of Kumogakure and Tengu of Agakure… please co forward…”
“Oh… it’s your turn, Tengu…” murmured Samsara turning towards Tengu.
“Yes… in that case, I will be going…” nodded Tengu as he proceeded to get up and leave the waiting room.
Raijin reminded him from behind, “You know what to do, right?”
Tengu nodded without turning back, “Yes, Raijin-sama…”
Samsara waved her hand, “Do your best…”
Tengu shrugged, “Unnecessary…” and left the waiting room. After all, they already know the result of the match, and nothing would change the result, as such, it was unnecessary for Samsara to wish him.
Samsara who was also aware of this and also understood Tengu’s personality didn’t say anything and simply watched him leave.

Kumogakure’s Waiting Room
“So… it’s Tengu, huh?” murmured Darui with a lazy expression as he got up.
Shee reminded him, “Although I don’t think Tengu of Agakure would pose much of a threat to you, keep in mind that his Jutsu seems to be a little tricky… be on your guard, we don’t know what else he might be hiding…”
Darui nodded with a shrug, “Yeah, I know…” He personally believes that nobody actually understands the true potential of the three Genins of Agakure better then him, therefore, he doesn’t have any plans of underestimating Tengu at all.
‘He still doesn’t seem to have used everything… not to ntion that weird ability of his that makes it impossible for anyone to land a hit on him… Yeah, he’d be very troubleso to deal with, especially with that flight ability of his…’
There are still ways to deal with most other abilities, but it’s very difficult to overco aerial ability. After all, there is a very good reason why ninjas with aerial abilities are highly valued.
‘If he takes to the sky, he will be very difficult to defeat…’ thought Darui not sure how he would battle Tengu who can fly using the pair of black wings he manifests from his back.
‘Aaaah… forget it, I will think about it as the fight progresses…’ with that decision, Darui decided not to give it much thought at the mont and decided to go with the flow. Moreover, he had a gut feeling that the fight would not go as he wanted.

At the Arena
One after another, Darui and Tengu arrived at the arena.
Watching the two ninjas standing opposite to each other, the Kages all had different reactions.
Obviously, Raikage was most excited and wanted Darui to defeat Tengu as quickly as possible.
anwhile, Onoki was curious, ‘Samsara withdrew without putting up a fight against Deidara… will Tengu also…?’
Amidst the curiosity and excitent of various folks, ‘Itachi’ turned his attention to the two Ninjas, “Darui… Tengu… are the two of you ready?”
Naturally, Darui nodded, “Yes…” and put his hand on the hilt of his sword.
anwhile, Tengu who was standing casually with his hands in his pockets shook his head and said, “I am withdrawing from the fight…”
Different from Samsara’s case, this ti, there wasn’t much surprise on ‘Itachi’s’ face, and he asked for confirmation, “Are you sure?”
Darui’s hand loosened on the hilt of his sword, and he looked at Tengu for confirmation which the Agakure provided with a quick nod, “Yes…”
‘Itachi’ asked further, “Your reason for withdrawal?”
“Unfit for the fight…” said Tengu as an excuse.
then turned around and left the arena.
‘He also withdrew…’ thought Darui as he lifted his hand from the hilt of his sword and looked at ‘Itachi’ to announce the result of the match.
For so reason, Darui wasn’t surprised by these series of events. After all, sothing similar has happened in just the previous match.
Without keeping Darui in waiting for long, ‘Itachi’ announced the result of the third match of the quarterfinals, “Since Tengu of Agakure has chosen to withdraw, the winner of this match is Darui of Kumogakure…”
Once the result was announced, Darui too turned around and left the arena.

“What? Tengu too?”
“Why did he withdraw as well?”
“This is a joke, right?”
“You have got to be kidding …. I had my money on Tengu…!”
“Haha… my money was on Darui… so I am happy that Darui won this fight without getting tired…”
“Putting aside you greedy asses, why the hell are Agakure Genins withdrawing? First it was Samsara and now it’s Tengu…”
“Yeah, what the hell is Agakure doing?”

Konohagakure Waiting Room
“Humph! Cowards… if it was , I wouldn’t have given up…!” snorted Naruto in disdain as he watched Tengu leave the arena after withdrawing from the fight. He would have much rather fought till the bitter end and lost the fight than simply give up.
Shikamaru stared at Naruto with a tired expression, “Not everyone is like you, Naruto… I think it was a good decision on Tengu’s part to withdraw from that fight.”
“What do you an Shikamaru?” asked Naruto, staring at him in confusion.
Shikamaru shook his head, “Nothing…” While he doesn’t condone simply withdrawing from a fight, he does understand when to give up, and if he was put in Samsara or Tengu’s place, he would have done the sa, because he knows that his chances of winning a fight against Deidara and Darui are negligible, and he could end up suffering a lasting injury which might never heal.
So, rather than putting so much effort when there is nothing to gain, except injuries, isn’t it better to withdraw safe and sound?
Now, he is not saying that he would choose to withdraw every ti when he encounters such a situation. His choice would depend on what’s at stake… If sothing important is at stake, he would fight to the bitter end and even sacrifice his life if he has to, but when there is nothing at stake, it makes no sense to put his life on the line.
But that’s him… and he understands that Naruto on the other hand is eager to win no matter how dangerous the situation.
Not wanting to explain things to Naruto, Shikamaru changed the topic, saying, “It’s going to be your fight next… you better be ready…”
“Yeah, I know…” nodded Naruto pumping his fist as he added, “And I am going to win this fight… I am not going to lose or give up, no matter what until I avenge Neji and Sasuke, you better believe it!”
“Yeah, I know…” nodded Naruto pumping his fist as he added, “And I am going to win this fight… I am not going to lose or give up, no matter what until I avenge Neji and Sasuke, you better believe it!”
In response to Naruto’s declaration, Shikamaru smiled helplessly and thought, Well, that’s so like you... He then asked curiously, “You do know the abilities of your opponents’ Kekkei Genkai, right?”
Naruto looked a bit confused. “Eh? Ah...” Then it hit him that he didn’t know much about his opponent's abilities, and he began to panic.
Seeing Naruto’s reaction, Shikamaru almost face-pald. “So troubleso...” He called out to Naruto, “Listen to … I’ll explain.”
“Huh? Ah… okay…” Naruto nodded gratefully and started paying attention to Shikamaru’s explanation.
