The village had changed.

Houses stretched across the once-empty fields. Smoke rose from a dozen chimneys. Children laughed, goblins trained with wooden swords, and people shouted over each other in the market. The guild was packed every day. Even the new training area had trouble fitting all the young adventurers.

It was good.

But also crowded.

"Hey, Caelen," Garin said, pulling off his muddy boots as he entered the workshop. "We're running out of space."

Caelen looked up from a bundle of maps. "Already?"

"Yeah. Even with the new rows of houses, we're pushing into the east farms. And if we keep growing..."

"We'll need more land."

Caelen sighed and rubbed his neck. "I'll talk to Zira. But in the anti, I've got another plan. There's still room underground."

Garin raised a brow. "We're going deeper?"

Caelen smiled.

"Yeah. Let's see what else this forest is hiding."

The next day, Caelen stood in front of the old drill site.

The machine had changed since the first version. Now it had tal plates, better pressure, and magic runes carved in by Dorgrim and Ren Laen. The villagers gathered to watch, curious and hopeful.

"Back at it again, boss?" Borin smirked.

"Yep," Caelen said, pressing his hand to the side of the drill.

You used [Creation]!

Drill Enhanced. Durability increased. Power output increased.

Ready to begin excavation?

"Start drilling."

With a loud rumble, the machine roared to life. Dirt flew, rock cracked, and the drill vanished below, digging deep into the earth.

Caelen and the team followed slowly with carts and tools, placing torches on the walls and reinforcing tunnels with stone pillars.

Ten ters.

Twenty.

Fifty.

Then they hit sothing.

The drill let out a high-pitched whine and stopped. Sparks danced across its edge.

"Did we hit iron?" Garin asked.

Caelen stepped forward, knelt, and ran a hand over the glimring wall. It wasn't just iron.

It was gold.

Veins of gold shimred faintly in the stone, twisting between chunks of dark iron. The villagers behind him gasped.

"Looks like we're rich," Caelen said with a grin.

You discovered [Gold Ore]!

You discovered [Iron Ore]!

Gold veins detected: 4

Iron clusters detected: 8

Excitent rippled through the group. Garin clapped soone on the back. "Let's dig it out!"

They worked fast, carving out the minerals and sending them up through golems and pulley carts. Dorgrim was already sharpening his hamr back at the forge.

But deeper in the tunnel, the rock changed.

Caelen noticed it first.

The wall turned darker, rougher. Not black like coal, not grey like iron. It shimred faintly—almost like it was reflecting heat. When Caelen touched it, it tingled.

He used [Inspect].

You discovered a new ore: [Ominite]

A rare tal with high fire and electric resistance. Comparable in strength to tungsten.

Magic attribute: Heat repulsion / Static shielding

Tier: High

Caelen blinked.

"Ominite?"

Borin, who'd followed close behind, stared at the glowing vein. "I've never seen anything like that."

Zira touched it gently, then quickly pulled her hand back. "It's... warm."

"It's enchanted," Caelen said. "Naturally."

"Can we use it?" Garin asked.

Caelen smiled. "Oh, we'll do more than use it."

Back at the forge, Dorgrim and Borin stood over the first extracted piece of ominite. It pulsed faintly with orange light.

"Harder than steel," Dorgrim muttered. "Hot to the touch, but doesn't burn. No smoke, no corrosion. This is... this is sothing else."

Borin nodded. "You could make armor with this. Strong armor. Maybe even weapons."

Caelen watched the flas flicker in the forge. "What if we mix it with iron?"

Dorgrim grinned. "I was hoping you'd ask."

As night fell, the first prototype was finished: a short sword made of iron lined with ominite. It shimred in the firelight and stayed warm even outside the forge.

Caelen picked it up. Light. Balanced. Solid.

You crafted [Ominite Ironblade]!

Fire Resistance 10%

Electric Resistance 10%

Durability: Very High

Material Tier: High

He swung it gently. No vibration. No feedback.

"It's perfect," he said.

Dorgrim slapped him on the back. "And we've only just begun."

Outside, the village lights flickered under the stars. More houses would be built. More land would be cleared. But underground... underground they had just opened a new Chapter.

Gold, iron, ominite.

And maybe more.

Caelen stood on the balcony, watching the torches below.

"This world keeps giving us problems," he murmured, "but it also gives us the tools to solve them."

And with each day, they were becoming better builders, better fighters...

And better prepared for what was coming next.
