Chapter 284: Chapter 284 – Registration_1
Each ti when ng Yunhan saw her son’s face getting pinched red, she’d feel a bit heartbroken and used a blend of spring and hot water to soothe Little Huzi’s face.
Looking at her son’s complete nonchalant deanor, ng Yunhan was always left sowhat exasperated. She wondered why he never cried.
Just like his father, really.
These warm days passed by quickly.
In the blink of an eye, it was the first day of school.
“Let’s go, Little Huzi, we’re taking your mom to school,” Old Man Zhao has already adopted the local lingo.
...
“Alright.” ng Yunhan gently caressed her son’s face.
With her admission notice in hand, ng Yunhan, with her dad and son, went to register.
Kyoto University was bustling, and ng Yunhan gave them a tour.
Because it was winter, the leaves of many trees had long fallen off, and a layer of snow covered the ground. It looked pure and beautiful. However, footprints caused so patches to look disheveled, but the untouched parts still retained their beauty.
Upon seeing so many people, Little Huzi seed quite excited.
“My dear, we should go and register first.” Old Man Zhao, who had lived in Kyoto for quite so ti and had brought Little Huzi to Kyoto University before, urged. Their rented house wasn’t far from the university.
ng Yunhan reported to the Law Departnt.
However, most of the applicants were male, with few females to be seen.
After registration, ng Yunhan found out her dormitory assignnt.
“Hanhan, can’t you stay at ho? Can’t you commute?”
ng Yunhan knew that there was no way she could commute in her first year. She still agreed with her dad, “I will ask them later. If it’s not allowed, I’ll have to live in the dorm. I should be able to co ho for als, though. By then, you have to cook for and make sure I’m well-fed.”
Upon hearing “well-fed”, Little Huzi stared intently at his mother.
With a hearty pledge Old Man Zhao responded, “I’ll be sure to feed you well.”
Thinking of their ti in Kyoto, everything had gone incredibly smoothly. In winter, even with money, it wasn’t always possible to buy certain leafy green vegetables. But luck was on Yunhan’s side. Although the quantities were small, the variety was excellent.
He had also bought two chickens, afraid they would catch cold, he kept them in his room. To his surprise, they laid two eggs that very day. The chickens delighted Old Man Zhao, Little Huzi would have stead eggs to eat every day.
Why didn’t Old Man Zhao doubt ng Yunhan’s providence?
Because ng Yunhan never brought many vegetables ho at once, like a couple of tomatoes were the most. She brought just enough for them to eat for one day, the next day she would buy a different set of vegetables. Hence, Old Man Zhao never suspected. Of course, occasionally ng Yunhan also sold tofu at the supply and marketing cooperative.
Old Man Zhao had already known that Yunhan sotis went to the black market to buy at when they lived in town.
After registration, ng Yunhan took them to have a look at the dormitory. She had a lower bunk bed.
“Hanhan, here’s your na.”
“Hello….”
A sudden voice pulled them back to reality.
“Hello.” ng Yunhan spotted a clean-cut short-haired girl.
“Is he your son?” She felt like she had seen this little boy sowhere before.
With a sweet smile, ng Yunhan replied, “Yes, he’s my son, nine months old.”
Seeing that ng Yunhan didn’t bring anything with her, the girl asked, “Are you a local?” Only locals would co without bringing anything. She had brought a lot of stuff while coming to the school, yet Yunhan had not brought a thing.
“No, I am not.””
